First off, this is a great location for tourists. We rented unit 3H, the two bedroom with the balcony with amazing views.

There are some negatives.:

1. The unit stinks of sewage. I know it’s coming from the bathrooms and kitchen from old plumbing. This is a no smoking building, but a cigarette smell would be an improvement over sewage. I’ve plug all sinks , tubs, and bidets and added water to seal the drains from sewer gases. Some stoppers don’t work so need to get some plastic bags to fill with water to try and seal the drain. It seriously is pretty disgusting smelling and not at all appetizing to want to eat in the unit.

2. The unit is kind of grungy and could use fresh paint, fresh grout in the bathrooms, a deep cleaning, mold destroyer, and some decor. I’m not confident the room was cleaned well from the previous occupants. I wiped something off the bathroom counter with a piece of toilet paper and a bit of water and it came off easily. There was hair on the bathroom floor. There’s some gross wads of wet paper towels that were left on the balcony. Some of the drinking glasses did not seem well cleaned.

3. Specifically asked if the building has a lift, but apparently my question wasn’t specific enough. I should have asked if it has a WORKING elevator. It’s not working.

4. Description stated beds have foam tops, but if there are foam tops, they are only 1 cm thick since I clearly feel the mattress springs.

We’re on night 2 of a 20 night stay. Might need to see about finding another place to stay because the smell really is that bad. It’s unfortunate that this old palace is really showing its age.

while its an old building from outside, the serviced apartments are on the 3rd floor and all pretty modern. it has nice bright modern interior, ours was spacious 2 bedroom flat with 2 baths and a full kitchen. there was even a pullout bed in the large living room.

Adequate dishes to make any breakfast you need, though the pastry shop right below offered great coffee and croissants.

ONLY few things to watch out for.
-------------------------------------------------
1. its on a busy street so you will block traffic in case you come by car or TAXI so be prepared to jump out quickly.
2. there is no reception, so press the buzzer at the main door and the person at the other end will give you a passcode to enter and also to use in the elevator.
3. it is very very difficult to find parking in this are, but there is an expensive parking lot at Chiado Square or at Calcada do Combro (slightly less costly)

The apartment was sparsely furnished and did not live up to the photos. The apartment was located on a street with several clubs and it was very noisy all night. We were unable to sleep. The apartment was clean though.

I never leave reviews but this place was awful. I booked and paid for two rooms and only got one. No one was there to help and no one answered emails or phone calls. Five of us had to stay in one room

This wasn't our first visit to Lisbon, but for some reason we couldn't get the nights we wanted in the usual places so we settled for these serviced appartments. The price was very attractive, and maybe this should have set off some alarm bells. However there are some postive aspects to these flats: Location is excellent although the street isn't the most welcoming. On this small street, there is a lot of activity in the evening, varrying from strip clubs, to typical restaurants and one particularly good one which has excellent live fado music. The reservation was very efficient and keyless (they have a code system on each door which is sent you via email), so there is a chance you will see no one of the administration during your stay. The flat itself is large and clean.
On the negative side we were quite dissapointed by the general state and furninshings of the flat. On the furnishing side it is an 'Ikea fest', which are not reputed for thier durability (broken lamps, damaged furniture..). However the most dissapointing aspect was the bathroom which in our opinion was dissproportionately small in comparaison to the rest of the flat and in serious disrepare, not dirty, but definately dingy. Another big negative was the noise at night, and I am not referring to the noise from the street which wouldn't bother me in particular, but to the rattling comming from the courtyard behind (which happens to be the side where the bedrooms are). I am not sure what kind of machinery was on all night but it was extremely bothersome, and to top it off the workers from whatever business was downstairs started making a lot of noise early in the morning.
All in all, not a place for us, but for a group on a budget it could work, just be mindful of some of the negatives.

With Lisbon Apartments trust is totally misplaced.
Booking apartments or accommodation when travelling is always based on trust - trust that you will get what you think or were led to believe in writing that you had booked. It is not a lottery. Fortunately in my experience this trust is generally well founded and expectations are met or exceeded.
Not so with Lisbon Apartments
I received an email from Lisbon Apartments advising confirmation of my booking two days before arrival. The title of the email was " One bedroom superior apartment (with Tagus river view).
The text of the email repeated the same information. However the apartment had no Tagus river view, it hardly had any view - the main window, small, 4 feet from the floor looked directly into the external stone balustrades
The apartment was not superior for example the round painted dining table had 15-20 5 cent size holes in the surface- like a bad case of Acne or worse. The stem of the table was dirty, one of the four wooden chairs was unsafe to sit on as the back was loose and the green paint scratched and worn. i.e The type of furniture that you find or put out on the street.
The lighting leading to the apartment was faulty so at night the only way to see where you were going in total blackness was with an iPhone torch- we assisted other tenants to find their room.
The apartment management is totally virtual - no presence other than cleaners-you are given access codes and a phone number. There was no written information provided on arrival about the location of the apartment relative to services, shops, restaurants, supermarkets or transport in Lisbon, no maps - nothing. The provision of such information had been standard practice in the five other apartments we had stayed in the previous 3 weeks.
The bedroom was up a flight of stairs on a mezzanine floor, The bathroom, rather than being next to the bedroom was down stairs off the lounge. Take your life in your hands for the mid night pee. The bathroom was depressing with a poor quality stained vanity, surgical stainless steel sink and dripping soap dispenser - onto the vanity and then onto floor when we arrived .
Overall a really superior apartment ???. it failed the 45 second test. The feeling was that of a cabin of a trading ship without a porthole.
On complaining to the management by phone the response was " if you can find alternative accommodation in Lisbon within an hour or so we will give you a full refund"- sounds good - however Lisbon was packed to the rafters so after a a frantic 2 hour search using the web and visiting the tourist information office and talking to helpful local restaurant staff we gave up looking and stayed on -no one had had three days free.
This accommodation is to be avoided- however if you are risk taker you may well win the lottery and have apartment with beautiful river views and serviceable furniture and fittings - on the other hand you may not.

The cons: The dishwasher machine was out of order the entire time. This was extremely irritating since a reason we picked this apartment was the amenities. We had to clean the disches morning and evening. When I called the manager he promised that the cleaning staff would hand wash the dish everyday; I can tell you that did not happen one single time. The cleaning staff did not even put the dish (we left to dry in the morning) in the cupboard. Really a shame. Also, the last 24 hours, the elevator was out of order; the mamager off course promised the elevator to be fixed very soon. That did not happen either. We were grateful we only had to climb the many stairs one evening and down one morning when we left the apartment. Another frustration was tha I ordered an apartment with outdoor pation: We did not get that either - and that was the very reason why we actually picked this apartment at all. Also, the light in the bathroom was very weak. The cleaning could have been better; the bathtub was not cleaned everyday and the floor and the desks in the kitchen were sometimes left sticky. Not pleasant to return to after a long day out in the city. There were only soap in the bathtub, not in the sink so bring one if you want to wash your hand. Another thing: The apartment is supposed to cater 6 persons but there were not enough utensils of plates. There was a funny smell from the bathroom every day and if we did not close the bathroom door very carefully the smell leaked to the rest of the apartment. Also, theapartment I ordered was supposed to have 2 bathroom. Our apartment only had one. It is a very noisy area with lots of bars around. People were screaming loud at 3 am during the night and technomusic was played loud and very late during fridays and saturdays. It was hard to close the windows so burglary would probably be easy.
The pros: The location was the absolutely best thing with this apartment. There were small bakeries, a small grocery store and many restaurants around the corner. The tram was just outside the door. The buildning in itself is beautyful. The laundry machine also worked well although there were no place to dry the laundry. There were fresh towels everyday and the beds were comfortable.

We've been to Lisbon before and stayed in a 2-bed apartment that was barely any bigger than the LOUNGE alone in our Palacio Camoes apartment.

Nice, big lounge/dining area and a sizeable balcony (ours was overlooking the estuary and the big Jesus gnome thing in Almeda.

Perfect location just on the fringe of Biarro Alto and only a 5-10 minute walk to most of the places you want to be beyond there.

Very clean, well equipped kitchen. The drains were a but whiffy when we got there (I wondered if the place hadn't been used for a while) but that soon cleared up with some water and bleach down the sink.

The WiFi was a bit hit an miss in our apartment (3H) which was frustrating, but others in our group said their apartments were fine.

One annoyance is the lack of stairs - the lift is quite small and is a bit of a faff with the key-code you need to get to the third floor. We were only there for a few days so I confess I didn't put much research into it, but there certainly appeared to be a locked door on the 2nd floor blocking off the 3rd floor of the building for some reason.

There's a supermarket and a fantastic cake shop a few doors down and it's located right at the top of the funicular for those who struggle with the hills up from the front.

Apartment well located, adequately equipped and thoroughly and efficiently cleaned each day. In general, we feel we got what we expected and paid for.

Note: If you leave your luggage in the lockers provided on your day of departure and return after 12 noon to pick it up you will need a new code to make the elevator work to recuperate the luggage. We were not informed by the company of this and it caused us to panic as we only had a allowed a few minutes turn around time with the car ordered to take us to the airport. (You cannot go up to the apartments without using the lift as the stairway is closed off on the first floor.) In order to resolve this problem you also need a mobile phone to contact Palacio Camões to obtain the code for the lift. If you do not have a mobile phone you would have a really big problem as you would be stuck on the ground floor with your luggage on the second floor and no way to get to it as the telephone in the entrance of the building to contact the “virtual reception” had been ripped off the wall. The front door of the building was also deficient and did not close immediately or properly when you entered or left the property. (We informed the “virtual reception” 4 days prior to our departure about both issues and noted that neither were resolved up to the day of our departure).

New Year's Eve with my wife. Beware: This is not a luxurious apartment. Location is excellent, close to everything. Furniture sparce and very cheap, code entrance a nuisance, noise coming from inner electronic/heating workings. Tagus view from apartment 4B splendid, though. Apartment is spacious and clean. There,s no reception, really, anyone is there.
