This is a very modern hotel which appears to have been remodeled within the past 5 years. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. It has almost all the amenities of a 5 star. The fixtures, floor and wall finishes are quite modern by USA standards and done quite well and tastefully. Our room faced the very wide street...

Traveled to Lisbon on a business trip to see Pipe Manufacturers but also managed to see a few sites around the city. The weather, food, people were fantastic, the weather was even better. The area around the hotel is great for sampling Portuguese life, culture, cuisine and even shopping. The proximity of the train station is another plus

Service was with a smile so that's great but the rooms were only somewhat updated. I had a room facing the street and the street noise was very loud. Breakfast was included and had alot of choice. the coffee was not drinkable, so I had instant. The water was nice and hot in the shower, the shower was the best...

Room had 3 windows! Sea view, inland view and a bathroom view. Comfortable and quiet. Shower and bath not bad - water just about hot enough. Efficient staff - though watch out at the bar if it gets busy!

This is a good hotel for business. If you prefer to stay at a more historical area of Lisbon, this is not a hotel for you. It is convenient because it's next to the Oriente Metro and train station, and there is a shopping center across the street, with a good food court. It's just two blocks away from the...

Booked this hotel specifically as we were visiting the Aquarium in the Expo District. Hotel is well positioned, 4 stops on the Metro Red Line from the airport (cost 1.90 EUR) and near the main train station. It's about a 2 minute walk from a shopping centre, 5 mins from the sea and cable cars and 10 mins from the...

I stayed here for the Web Summit event last week. I will definitely stay again for the same event next year. The staff area really lovely and the hotel is super clean. The only draw back is that I could hear the trains (city view room) and I was on the 16th floor which is the top floor. A pair...

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Right in the heart of Parque das Nações, the Hotel Tryp Lisboa Oriente was recently refurbished with "Expo 98" and the Oceans as its background. At the entrance, visitors are met by a series of ocean aquariums together with a canvas, in the reception area, representing the great architectural landmarks. The rooms emphasise elegance, modernity and comfort, and are characterised by the marine environments and the harmony of the sea smell, alternating between the blue of the rooms looking out towards the Tagus and the coral red of those which lend a view of the heart of the city. They have free Wifi access, a Television with satellite channels, a lounge area, telephone with a direct line and air conditioning. The "Bistrô&Tapas" Restaurant, which extends out to a pleasant esplanade, displays the most iconic symbol of Expo 98: panels which reflect the universality of the event and convey the popular Exhibition passport. The restaurant serves international breakfasts and offers an à la carte service and a dish of the day, based on the "Bistrô&Tapas" concept. For a light meal, take advantage of the bar where organic forms give body and soul to the drinks bars and you can admire a reproduction of a Portuguese stone-paved roadway. Located close to the FIL - Lisbon International Fair, the famous Oceanarium and Lisbon Casino, and just a few minutes away from Lisbon International Airport, the Tryp Lisboa Oriente is situated around 15 minutes away from the historical city centre. Just a short walk away you can find a full transport network, including the metro, buses and trains. The Parque das Nações is an excellent choice for visitors interested in culture, history, food and drink. ... more   less
