The hotel was very easily found .we arrived in Lisbon by the Metro from the airport and our hotel was a very short walk down the hill and right in the centre of the town. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady ( who also spoke good English) she checked us quickly in and guided us to our...

My sister and I stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago and were very happy with the experience. It's clean and comfortable, with a "normal" European breakfast included in the price. Normal means coffee, tea, jucies, yogurts, fruit and sliced veggies, about 8 varieties of rolls and breads, butter, jam, sliced cheeses and ham. Quite satisfactory, but nothing...

Literally the only thing the hotel has going for them is the location and that's what they are capitalising on. What is horrible is not that the room was incredibly small and pokey and non-air conditioned and old looking- that a person can accept provided we know that's what we are paying for. What is truly horrid is that every...

For the money i paid it was worth it. The info desk were nice and accomodating. The hotel looks outdated but it was clean enough. A new elevator would have improve the overall look. If you want to see the old (downtown) Lissabon then this is a perfect location.

The room which we book through one of the sites was quite luxurious, with about 30 square metres, with a beautiful bathroom (en suite). What a surprise it was when arriving in a hotel we got a shabby, small room. A room which hasn't been renovated for the last two or three decades with a very tiny bathroom (it was...

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Lisbon. The major attractions are just around the corner. The hotel is very well connected to trams, metros, trains and buses. The hotel itself is an old building, the photos on the hotel's site can be misleading. But we only needed the hotel to sleep and shower. The breakfast is repetitive...

Been there in February 2016. Stayed there for 6 nights and traveled on business. Hotel is 20 mins away from the airport and situated in a pedestrian area. Its location is ideal in the middle of lively intersections with street performers and shops. and a 2 minute walk to the sea. Check in was smooth, free wi-fi in rooms. Rooms...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
