The hotel has a pretty good location, not far from the city centre, close to tramway 28 and some nice viewpoints. Checking in was very hospitable and well organized. The room was quite big with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast was decent, although not so much options. The rooftop bar (where breakfast was served) had an amazing view of El Tejo and the 25 April Bridge. The downside of this was that because of this view, de bar/restaurant was very popular with non-hotelguests as well, so it could seem quite crowded (especially not as you would like during covid-19, for exampe some degenerated guests used the elevator without wearing masks, while hotel guests could not get to their rooms without using the elevator, because there were no stairs to that part of the hotel..). Other than that: a recommended stay in Lisboa.

Excellent location right in the center of Bairro Alto allowing to walk / take the old tramways to all of Lisbon's favorites spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The rooftop spot, where breakfast is served, is also a very nice location for the restaurant (loved the tapas !) and bar for the evening. We loved our week-end and would definitely come back !

Overall we had a nice stay at Monte Belvedere. Here is a summary:

Hotel positives: nice staff (allowed us to check in early to help accommodate a quick shower before heading to a tour!), clean, central location, double room was big, view from outside & at the restaurant is stunning, and breakfast is tasty and was included in price.

Negatives: location on a very steep hill, rooms are not very sound proof and being by elevator was a little loud.

Positives outweighed negatives so we’d recommend this hotel!

My husband and I visited Lisbon in early August this year and we were extremely happy with our choice of hotel.
It was in a cosy beautiful neighborhood hidden from the crowds and noise of the main streets but at the same time in 10 minutes walk from all the central sightseeing locations of the city. There was a great restaurant with a fantastic view just in a couple of steps from the hotel, and the hotel itself has a rooftop with an awesome view of the city and the bay. The breakfast was very good with homemade traditional food and sweets. Our room was quite small in size, but it hat just enough space and shelfs to store our luggage and belongings, so the remaining space for perfect for two.
The hosts were extremely friendly, nice and helpful. Special thanks to Gabriel, Claudia and Joao.
One advice from me to everyone seeking to feel the vibe of an ocean- go to Costa Da Caparica! And try a surfing class. That’s worth visiting Lisbon:)

Almost to the top of one of the steepest hills in Lisbon, it can be challenging to return after a dinner out. The hotel is several buildings cobbled together, so you enter on the 5th floor of one side of the buildings and go down to the rooms on the lower floors on the other side of the building. The room was well maintained, with good windows, a small terrace, a modern bathroom. The TV offerings were only in Portuguese. The towel warmer was not working. The breakfast room on the 7th floor has great views of the river and a very friendly staff who can really put out a good spread. They will make your eggs to order and everyday is a different cake.

We ended up in this place after booking our stay at Ribeira Tejo. We had to climb a hill with all our baggage in order to check-in, and after we could've chosen to go back to our initially booking, or to stay there. I feel that this is just a strategy in order to stay there.

Anyway, the place overall looks good, has a great view, and the restaurant up top is really good. The location is perfect if you're a tourist and want to visit Lisbon.
The rooms are not very soundproofing so expect to be wakened up at 8 am.

Honestly? Greatest place I've slept in during my trip to Portugal. There are beautiful hotels and BnBs out there but what made the difference here was the incredibly welcoming attitude of the staff. You don't just sleep in a very clean, very nice hotel, with a great view on the river... you feel like they really care for you and your needs. They're always smiling, always nice and if you want to spend two minutes just talking with them, they find the time, despite all the work they probably have to do. Biggest awards to Gabriel and Juãn at the reception and the biggest applause to the fantastic Constança, at the bar, for being such a kind one! Congratulations to the whole team in general, even those I did not take the names of!

Plus: the hotel has a beautiful terrace where you take your breakfast (a very variegated one! Kudos to it!) or can drink a glass of Porto in the evenings. I do recommend spending some time there because it's incredibly relaxing and satisfying. The view is amazing!

Great location with most of the attractions in walking distance, superb view from the rooftop bar. layout of the rooms can be bit confusing at first. Friendly and polite staff, which made our experience in Lisbon very enjoyable. Check in is not until 3 pm, but they had our room ready as soon as we arrived at the hotel (11 am) . Clean, comfortable room with very comfy beds. Can not recommend enough. Thank you to all the team! R&G

Booked this for a solo trip to Lisbon, and it was truly a marvelous hotel. I went during the off-season, so it was very quiet and just the thing I needed to recharge. As the other reviews hint at, the friendly staff are a highlight of the stay, and they’ll work to make sure that you have an excellent experience. The food is good, and the drinks generous and affordable. On the whole, you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, especially at this price. I fully plan on returning to this hotel in the future. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, in no small part due to Monte Belvedere.

Great staff, friendly and helpful, wonderful location, required a lot of walking up to the hotel yet it keeps you fit and the scenery is worth it. Room was quiet, breakfast tasty and l liked that the hotel was on it's way to being eco-friendly including suggesting to use stairs instead of the elevator. Great reminder
