We stayed here on two occasions, our first experience was very positive, so we returned on a following occasion when in Lisboa. Staff is available 24/7 and was very friendly. Rooms are basic, but very clean and available at a very reasonable price. We missed the coffee, but the location made up for this, the bar in the park is nearby as well as several good restaurants. Walking distance to the city centre as well. We will come back!
I agree with the other reviews on here. It is in a very good location, within walking distance to all of the main attractions and restaurants. The bed is comfy and we stayed in a room with a private bathroom. WiFi is good. However, they currently have building work going on (we weren’t informed of this when we booked) and it is noisy from 7.30am-5pm, so not very restful! Also, the walls are very thin and so you can hear everything and the street outside and stairs (our room was on both) are noisy too. There is also a lack of plug sockets and only 1 next to the bed - difficult for charging!
Loved the room, cleanliness and location. The price is hard to beat for this location as well. Totally recommended but bring flats...it's a very "hilly" neighbourhood. Reception is two flights up so be prepared if you have heavy bags S there is mo elevator. All in all a pleasant stay and totally recommend xoxoxo
I agree with the other reviews on many things: great location central to the main Avenida da Liberdade, accommodating and kind staff, and quite clean amenities. I stayed in the rooms with the shared bathroom which is about 2-3 minute walk from the main building, and uphill. There is no elevator or lift in the building so you need to carry your luggage 3 floors up. The room itself is indeed clean, but it does smell like damp detergent. There is a bidet and sink in the room (with no divider) which was convenient so you don't need to go to the shared bathroom in the middle of the night. The walls though were too thin. I could hear the people talking audibly next door beyond my head board. I could even hear their iPhone alarm go off as though it were my own iPhone next to my side table. You could also hear the steps of people outside. This is definitely not for light sleepers. This place is nice if you're really on a very very tight budget.…
I stayed at the Safira hotel for the first weekend in September 2018 with my partner. Upon arrival we were greeted at the reception which is on the second floor of the building by a very friendly receptionist. As my partner is Spanish she spoke to him in his native language and spoke to me in English. She then checked us in and took us to our room which was in another building. On the way she told us information about the area such as where the local supermarket was etc. She was very welcoming and gave a great first impression of the Portuguese and Portugal. When we got to our room it was spotless. There was also a fan and a tv on the wall. We had a shared bathroom which was also spotless. The room had plenty of plugs to charge our phones, iPads, laptops etc. The room was a good size for the two of us. The window looked out onto the main street which was nice. In the room there was also a sink and mirror. In terms of location you couldn’t be better located. Five minutes up the hill and the steps leads you to Barrio Alto which has plenty of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. If you go down the hill from the hotel you are in the city centre. For the price I could not complain about the hotel. I would stay here again and would highly recommend.…
