The view was fantastic from our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our reservation at a restaurant in Lisbon on Xmas eve turned out to be at a closed restaurant. We turned lemons into lemonade as we returned to the Torel and they served us dinner in a private room off the main dining area to accommodate our misfortune. Turned out to be a memorable night Will return again
Lisbon was going to be a halfway, five-night stop on our seven-week trip around Portugal and Spain, but it ended up being our last stop as the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout Europe and forced our early return to the States. Torel Place provided safe haven for us and one other guest as nearly all hotels and businesses in Lisbon were ordered closed by the government. An incredibly warm and welcoming staff took us in and installed us in an absolutely amazing two-bedroom, two-bath, full kitchen- and laundry-equipped penthouse apartment. From living/dining rooms and balcony, we were treated to spectacular views of Lisbon--from waterfront to Parque Eduardo VII. The apartment had everything we needed to be self-sufficient, yet the hotel staff furnished us sumptuous breakfasts as well as amazing dinners. In every way conceivable, this hotel staff went the extra mile for us every time. The hotel's mansions and its beautiful grounds, pool and terraces are situated on top of one of Lisbon's seven hills, steps away from the city's oldest lift (not operating during the pandemic--we got in lots of steps!), a five-minute walk to The Rossio and just twenty minutes to either riverfront or Parque Eduardo VII. The location could not be better. We loved Torel Place and Lisbon so much that we are determined to return in normal times. In the meantime, we offer Joao and his entire staff our very best wishes for staying safe and healthy during this crisis ... and our most sincere appreciation for the amazing care and hospitality they extended to us during our visit.…
We stayed 3 days at the Torel and enjoyed every aspect of it, from the breakfast to the terrace. Staff was extremely kind and gave us great addresses to eat. The hostel is charming. The location might be hard to reach though for elderly people because the climb is very steep
Located just dead center in Lisboa you have this small, but very well maintained Hotel with three guesthouses and a small pool. The view from the pool/terrace is outstanding. Rooms are modern, clean and - for the price - larger than expected. Breakfast was ok, probably as good as you can do during Covid safety rules. Two downsides, location looks good on a map but its kind of on its own hill. Whatever you do you have to take an extra climb. Given that Lisboa is nowhere flat this wasnt much of an issue to us. The breakfast starting at 8.30 was tho. Every sightseeing place is pretty crowded and you should be there at 10 or earlier. This might have you skip breakfast or rush it. Total: 4.5/5 for us, friendly staff made us round up.
Came with my husband for three nights and it was the most perfect stay. We had a room in the pink building with a private balcony overlooking the pool. Breathtaking views and the room was absolutely gorgeous, spotlessly clean and so stylish! Lovely breakfast although a bit limited. Pool is small but great for a refreshing dip. Everything was very hygienic and felt completely covid-safe. Will definitely be back to this stunning place!
