Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

A very wonderful stay! Loved the location, amazing price, the hotel had lovely art work and a great entrance/ lobby. I was pleasantly surprised and would stay here again! We paid a bit extra for a larger room and it was well worth it, a very comfortable stay; the staff were helpful and just few minute walks to the most important locations. I really enjoyed my stay here!

Fantastic staff, excellent service and centrally located. Good food and reasonable prices. The hotel is ideally situated for touring Lisbon and the surrounding area. Breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choices and all fresh daily, this hotel would be hard to beat!

Stayed for one night after a cruise and really wish it had been longer. The hotel is in a great location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I arrived early so my room wasn’t ready but the lady on reception let me leave my luggage and explained lots of options on how to spend my day in the city. The hotel is a lot bigger than it looks and the corridors are very dark and seem never ending! My room (330) was lovely and full of character. Bathroom was very small but the rain shower was great and supplied toiletries good quality. Would highly recommend this hotel

Excellent hotel, excellent location, right in centre of everything. Hotel is very clean, our room was small but we choose that - interior view so if you are spending time in the room consider a different option. Rooms are very quiet, great AC. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't eat at hotel but had a drink in the bar, very nice bar area. Would highly recommend for Lisboa stay.

Just superb hotel ; Brilliant central location close to everything, (but with very effective soundproofed rooms..) Staff are excellent and communal hotel decor and rooms equally impressive.. Beds very comfy - Room well equipped with fantastic retro Bluetooth conversion for your Spotify..! (Finally we were staying in Lisbon to celebrate my Birthday, and (unprompted), returned to the room to find a bottle of bubbly waiting for me - a really nice touch..!)

Loved this hotel right in the center of Lisbon. Room was small but had everything we needed .Very relaxing bar area to finish of a tiring day with a bedtime drink. Had the lunch there one day and we thoroughly enjoyed the burgers We were walking distance to all the main attractions , close to metro . Discount on food and drinks for patrons of the hotel which was nice to get and even after we checked out we got discount on the food . Staff were very helpful with advice and directions and our room was spotless .

Room 421 - The room was small but perfect for a weeks stay, with a wardrobe, table and chairs and large tv, what more do you need. The windows had extra glazing which meant we couldn’t hear any noise from the outside, however we did have a back room as a view isn’t important to us. The bathroom was clean and the shower powerful. A full size hairdryer was provided which meant I didn’t need to bring one. The reception staff were friendly and spoke very good English. The bar staff too were very helpful and excellent English. Location was perfect as close to lots of attractions. Would definitely stay here again

We loved it. The location is fantastic, so easy for city walking, it’s near so many attractions , for train stations Rossio to Sintra and Cais Do do Sodré to Belem. (Although the 15e tram is the better option) So many shops, bars and restaurants close by. The staff in the hotel are so friendly, shout out to João behind the bar. Reception were very patient dealing with our questions. The rooms are small but it’s not a problem, we had a little walk in wardrobe. You get a free safe. The shower is great with good water pressure. Tea and coffee making provided. There is a plug extension that includes 2 USB sockets. The rooms are soundproofed, this does make opening the door difficult until you get used to it, as it has a seal around the door, insert key, do one little turn to the left and then gently pull the door towards you. It will then open. Breakfasts are great. Loads of choice and really friendly staff, it’s served from 7-30 to 11. If you have an early flight and have breakfast included, tell reception the night before and they can organise a breakfast box for you. We ate one meal at the hotel and the burgers were very good. Tip. Download the fork app and use it to book nearby restaurants that offer discounts. (30 and 50 per cent) Would recommend Inflame, Taberna do Lis and restaurant Elevador and our favourite Sebastian (a 2 minute walk). Tip, download self guided tours for free from Lisbon Guru for the Bairo Alto and the Alfama districts and also for Belem. Tip if going to Bairo Alto. On leaving Browns, turn left and head to Mangos. Go in and use the elevators all the way to the top. You will exit high up the hill without having to walk it or use the elevator. On the self guided tour you get a great view at the Miradouro de Sao Pedro. It’s a nice little self guided tour. In Bairo Alto area, the side streets have bars and cafes that come alive in the evening with fado Music, although it doesn’t get going until 10pm. The Alfama district is about a 25 minute walk, the Igreja de Sao Vicente is a must and you can visit the top, 360 viewing experience. Our favourite place was the Museu Militar, and it only cost 3 euros. We went round the beer museum and that was good fun and you have a beer sample. If you fancy a big ticket activity try the combo Walking Tour, boat trip and Helicopter ride on Tripadvisor. A brilliant trip. The boat trip is an hour and it’s great. Another trip adviser trip we did (from 9am to 7pm) was the best of Sintra and Cascais. This was a fantastic day and we are so glad we did this as part of small group trip, rather than doing it on our own. The Lisbon Oceanuirm is very good and worth the effort to get to. Catch the 728 bus, but they can get very busy . It’s possibly the best aquarium we have visited. Tip, the queues can be large. Whilst in the queue we booked the tickets on line, which come with beat the queue access, once purchased look in what’s app or email to find the tickets and head to the tickets purchased entry point. Saved us loads of time. The cable car in nearby the Aquarium and is worth a round trip. You will save a few euros if you buy a combo ticket, with aquarium entry. Catch the 15 E tram from Praca da Figueiro (first stop) to Belem (rather than the train) It can get busy so it’s worth heading to its first stop. . And watch out for pick pockets, although we saw no problems. As we had done the helicopter trip, we didn’t feel the need to queue to go up the Belem Tour. It’s a short walk from the tower to the Monument of a discoveries. The queues for the Jeronomis Monastery were huge and we just looked at it from the outside. We did go in the Navy Museum and that is worth a visit. We bought a Navegante occasional card at a metro station (don’t seem to sell them at the machines so headed to an assistance booth). You have to have a card each and pre load with how many single trips you plan to make. The Museum Aljube Resistance e Liberdade is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and was very interesting. At 3 euros per person, it was very thought provoking. Our final trip was to visit the Benfica Stadium tour and museum, book the tickets on line. It took about two hours and was great. To get there go to the blue metro line at Restauradores and get off at Colegio Militar/Luz. It’s a 10minute walk to gate 17, where the tour starts. If you found my review helpful, please can you like it.

Perhaps because I was solo and booked a standard room I got the absolute smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. A large bed - too large for the room and a bathroom that was floor to ceiling glass with a curtain to provide privacy. Bed was comfortable enough and room was okay for just myself. Best thing about it was the location in the heart of the tourist district which made for easy access to attractions. Breakfast was not included and was really expensive ($18 Euros) for what was offered. But also not a chain so had some charm.
