Service: Night receptionist was very polite and professional. I was not able to lock the door in the first room I was given, and another room was promptly offered. All the information I needed was provided and I really enjoyed my welcoming. Check-out morning receptionist was very polite as well, and offered me a discount, if I had stayed a second night (in the end, we were not able to stay, but it was a very kind gesture). Rate: Very good rate, particularly if you consider this is a 3-Star Hotel. Breakfast was a bit complicated to get during my stay (mostly due to Covid-19 restrictions). Because it such a good area, we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel. There are plenty of places to have breakfast around the hotel (if you want the best, go to Pastelaria Versailles), and most are very affordable. Room: Good size for one or two people. Furniture is new and surprisingly modern. Curtains could block out daylight a lot more. Asked for a balcony and got one: perfect! Asked for a double bed, but was given two twin beds joined together. I hate it when they do that. It was just for one night, so it was acceptable. Asked for a room facing the main road: I was told that it was not possible for the type of room I chose (a double, even though I ended up in a room with two twin beds joined together). Perhaps only triple rooms face the main road? I wonder. Very comfortable mattress and pillows Shower Head: Excellent! Perfect shower. Bedroom doors are not the best: a lot of light came from underneath the bedroom door, people in the hall could be heard quite well, even when they were not being noisy, and closing it meant you needed to slam it almost every time. Cleanliness: Very good! Bed linen and towels were impeccably clean. And so was the bathroom/toilet. Location: Perfect. Subway/Tube around the corner (you can get downtown - city centre - in 10 minutes), a lot of nice restaurants and cafés (pastelarias), all you need within walking distance, Gulbenkian Museum and gardens, which you should not miss, is just 10-12 minutes away on foot. Covid-19 Information: The Hotel was very clear about all the rules. Hand-sanitiser was available through-out the premises; the cleaning team was very active and seemed to take sanitary regulations quite seriously.…
Hotel Canada has recently been renovated. The rooms are pretty large and clean. The beds were pretty hard. The free snacks and water are a plus. Parking is 9.50 euros for 24 hours at a lot nearby. Good location with plenty of nearby restaurants.
Liked - The Room: - Good air con - Good shower - Very clean - USB charging ports (10/10 for this. Was able to get around not having an European plug converter) -Mini fridge in room. Location: - Very well located if you fancy walking through the streets of Lisbon to get a feel for the place. - Parking available right in front of the hotel. Also a parking pay point right outside the entrance to the hotel. Disliked - The Room : - The complimentary tea/coffee tray didn't come with any milk. Thought it was strange at first but I've learnt it's just how it is. - Didn't find an iron/ironing board. I didn't need one but imagine it's something you'd want typically. - My friend said the breakfast served on the second day didn't fully agree with him.
We spent 2 nights In the hotel. the reservation was made for a room with a balcony, however we were given a room without a balcony for the first night and only enjoyed the balcony on the second. The cleaning staff could do better. Staff is helpful and prices are affordable.
I was there on business and then staying over for the weekend. I had found that hotels in the historical city center were quite expensive. I thus chose this hotel a bit further away, but just 100 m from an underground station, close to some restaurants and shops. The reception doesn’t look good -optically, but the service was efficient and friendly, the rooms are modern and practical, relatively quiet, and with a balcony. I didn’t have breakfast there as the dining room did not have a lot of charm, but there are some good places to have breakfast just around the corner. I can recommend the hotel and the area.
