My husband & I love to visit Portugal & one of our favorite towns is Sintra. We had last been in Sintra 8 years ago & had stayed at Cinco. Needless to say we were looking forward to staying there again. The location couldn’t be better, a few blocks from the center & parking out front. Carole & Stuart, the owners, have a wonderful apartment on the ground floor of their home. There are beautiful gardens & a wonderful view toward the water. You couldn’t ask for better hosts, Carole supplies items for breakfast, which makes it very convenient. When we visit again we will always stay here.

Our family of four adults stayed two nights here, wish it had been longer. From the drive in with all the one-way streets it seemed way out of town at first, but walking to the town center was an easy two minutes. It was so quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view and gardens. Carole has created a lovely, warrm little apartment, with a well-equipped kitchen and a big bathroom. The fold-out couch was perfectly comfortable, and we enjoyed the warm waters of the swimming pool. Highly recommend!

Quaint, quiet apartment close to the village. The apartment was well appointed and Carole was a gracious host and made sure all of our needs were met. The garden and views are lovely. I wish we'd had more than just a few nights here so we could have spent more time enjoying this property.

This was an amazing location and perfect accommodation. The cottage was secluded and peaceful with the most stunning gardens and view.
Everything was spotlessly clean and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Carole goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are well looked after and comfortable.
We spent a week and could happily have stayed for a month.

Cinco Bed & Breakfast - Sintra Historico, Portugal

You never know what you’re getting till you get there and reviews should be read only as a guide. With that in mind you can believe this. Cinco gave us the perfect get away holiday. We were a little anxious as we descended the winding lane into the unknown. How far down dare you go with two heavy cases if it's the wrong lane? So at what turned out to be half way, I left my case with Sylvia and went ahead to find Cinco. And there it was just as described in the directions. We were greeted at the green door by our host and landlady, Carole, who thereafter continually treated us as life-long friends. Cinco guest accommodation leaves you wanting for nothing other than a longer stay and exceeded all our expectations. The guest book contributors echo these sentiments and if it were possible to post them on the net Cinco would always be fully booked. We never took
advantage of the pool so can't honestly comment though it looked inviting. Cooler than normal weather conditions led us to conclude that the water wouldn't be to our desired temperature (like a bath) and so the temptation was never really there. But, hey, don't be put off!! Go and try it! My advice to interested parties - book now to avoid disappointment...........and you won't be.

My husband and I stayed at Cinco for four nights while visiting Portugal in January, 2013. We highly recommend staying there! The house itself is spacious and cheerful; the kitchen is fully stocked and the bathroom is large and airy. We slept quite soundly as there was no street noise or noise from the neighbors; the house overlooks a valley and it has a beautiful view. Carole re-stocked our breakfast supplies every day for us; there was always juice, yogurt, eggs, croissants, homemad jam, etc. Carole was very enthusiastic about the area and gave us lots of "insider" tips about the best way to get around the town and which parts of the attractions to focus on. We also enjoyed the location; it is quite convenient for walking around the town but it also feels private. I would definitely recommend it for couples and families; you won't be disappointed! We would love to visit again!

We stayed at this lovely B & B for five nights and truly found it to be perfect in every way. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the center of historic Sintra with restaurants, shops, etc. The apartment is comfortable and pleasantly decorated and equiped with everything you would need. Abundant supplies of breakfast foods, coffee, fruit, etc. are provided. The gardens are lovely, the views from the terrace belong on a postcard and the very helpful hostess, Carole, make for a terrific stay. We've stayed in many B & B's and holiday apartments around the world and found this to be the very best.

Sintra has many interesting and beautiful places to visit. At least spend two or three days here to do it justice. It is a good place to stay tp visit Lisbon ,coastal resorts and stunning beaches .

From the moment we arrived in Lisbon jet lagged from our trip from Seattle, and Carole greeted us outside of baggage claim with a smile, our stay was perfect. The beautiful gardens, spacious accomodations, amazing breakfast food and the helpful and delight hostess (Carole) were more than we had expected. We made Cinco our home for five nights and visited Lisbon and Sintra. It was a relaxing way to travel and yet still vacation. Cinco is a perfect location for old town and sightseeing.
