The setting is in the hills above Santa Cruz (ten minutes drive from the main road in to Funchal.) The hotel is set in well cared for gardens with magnificent Camellia bushes and other shrubs. The accommodation is excellent. The furnishing and decor are very tasteful and there is always a wonderful wood burning fire in the sitting room. We... More

Staying at the Quinta is like being a guest at a country house – at least if you are staying in the main house. Not Downton but a “normal” country house. There are negatives. The hall can feel cold and echoing but the positives easily outweigh these. At this time of year coming home to a log fire every night... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinners served in the hotel were of good quality and tasty. The communal area was great for relaxing. Our room was small, but had a small balcony. Good breakfast. Very clean.

Very quiet and cozy hotel with excellent staff creating warm atmosphere and friendly owner. If you have the choice just take a room over the terrace looking onto the garden, they are lighter. Simple, but OK breakfast (some more variety would make it even better), beautiful garden and very good location if you don't mind driving a couple of minutes... More

This B&B is Part of Santo da Serra, a small place about 15 minutes from the airport and Funchal, near the golf course. Already being surrounded by woods the B&B itself has a beautiful garden which is intended to be extended further. Naturally the views from the rooms are quite pleasant. One has to decide between terrace and wifi though... More

Location is hilarious, when you wake up you can smell eucalyptus trees. Its totally quite place with very well kept garden and so nice and helpfull staff. Every day there is a simple menu offered and you never can choose wrong - delicious home made typically Madeiran dishes. You feel you are at your private holiday villa, at the same... More

Upon arrival the staff welcomed us by our names (yes, they clearly were expecting us) which gives a very welcome feeling. Our room was very clear and had a nice balcony. Both breakfast and diner were tasteful and fresh made. We loved staying here!

Quinta Cova do Milho is a fantastic place. The owners and the staff are great. The place is beautiful, the food is perfect and the location is away from the little noise but still close to everything.

The Quinta is in a good and quiet location with great view of the hills. The house is nice, it has a big potential but the managers are not quite up to run it. They are not very talkative, we didn't get a warm welcome at our arrival compared to other places we visited in Madeira during our trip. We choose... More
