This hotel has simple elegant charm backed up by very good service. The original house has lovely antique furniture and a log fire. The food is very good also. The hotel is located in the St Martino area. The no 8 service bus runs frequently to the centre of Funchal although the hotel has a courtesy bus also. There is a...

The hotel is spread out in beautiful garden surroundings and the staff are so friendly and helpful. There are lovely views and walks within the grounds. The decor is old colonial/ period, minimally furnished but newly decorated, fresh and clean. We've not been to Madeira before but first impressions are good. We'd certainly love to return.

We stayed for a week here in January 2017. On arrival we upgraded to a balcony room in the main building. At 30 Euros a night it was a very good deal and probably cheaper than if we'd booked it through an agent. The servicing of the room was of a most high order; you can have the bedding changed...

This was our first sun/pool holiday as we usually opt for trips in the UK where we can do plenty of walking, and based on our experience at this hotel, it won't be our last. The hotel is set up in the hill above Funchal making it the perfect place to escape the hubbub of the town. The rooms were...

We choose this hotel for some winter sun as we wanted somewhere other than a resort hotel. We were not disappointed especially as the evening meal was included in our deal. The location was excellent, over looking the bay and it was very quiet. There is a courtsey shuttle bus which does not run on Saturday afternoon and Sundays, this...

It felt like you were staying in someone's home- it looks just like the pictures- we travel a lot for business and pleasure-- a deux- and now a trois with baby-- the experience was still heavenly and they went the extra mile to be helpful at every turn. we booked last minute and got the last room available. Even that...

This hotel is in a lovely setting with spacious comfortable rooms (great beds) overlooking tropical gardens and yet is only a 25 minute stroll from Funchal. All the hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly and we will always try to stay here on any future visits to Madeira.

We stayed here for a week break having finally got rid of our son to university. So, a chance to cut loose and rekindle our youth? Possibly, but certainly not at this hotel. It is a lovely, quaint, peaceful and reasonably well maintained hotel set in calm green and pleasant gardens. Our room was ok, with a balcony overlooking the...
