We came in June and had a fab time. This place is smack bang in the heart of Funchal, we could not get much closer... really! Everything was cleaned and the beds made every day. Our private bathroom was very smart and we got fresh towells whenever we needed them. A simple but filling breakfast and on the doorstep of... More

Ideally located in the old town for the best bars and restaurants. It is on a narrow street so no traffic, however cafes and restaurants abound on each side so you can expect some degree of noise in the evening. We were accommodated not in the hotel itself but in the new annexe about 200 yards up the street, in... More

In a fabulous allocation, if you want to be in the hub of Funchal night life. Rooms are very comfortable, and very clean, including the on suite bathroom. The only thing lacking in the bedroom is a big mirror, which was annoying when there is only the bathroom mirror. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the fabulous... More

This is a gorgeous authentic little hotel, perfectly located on Rua de Santa Maria right in the heart of the old town. You can choose your evening dining spot simply by looking out from your huge window. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. Our room was large , including a double bed and small single for our 12 year old... More

Myself and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon and there is nothing we could fault. This hotel is lovely and suited us perfectly. The rooms were large and the air conditioning was perfect. The breakfast which was included in the room was lovely and set us up for the day - the fresh rolls each morning from the bakery... More

I have stayed here twice now and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The location is amazing, right in the centre with old cobbled streets, boutique shops and friendly staff. Veronica was such a lovely lady. It was a perfect stay and Veronica is very friendly and always willing to help with directions, places to eat... More

If you are looking for a charming hotel right in the middle of the Old Town well this is it. There isn't a swimming pool, but with so much to explore in Funchal why would you want to sit lounging about all day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mariazinha. The staff are a credit to the owners, especially... More

We stayed here 5 years ago in October and were very happy to return to the hotel again for a one-week stay. The hotel had changed owner in the meantime, and the new personel was as kind and service-minded as the previous ones. This hotel is small and cosy with 7 or 8 rooms, in a perfect location if you... The location, the cleanliness, the price and the welcome are what make this a great choice if you are visiting Funchal. Veronica on reception is a real asset to the hotel. She is friendly, attentive and helpful and can't do enough for the guests. In terms of value for money, I would find this place hard to beat. We chose... More
