We stayed at the property on 16 September for a night. The staff who welcomed us was extremely helpful and helped us with our very heavy luggage and offered to change our room to an area more convenient (no stairs). The couple who run this family owned property welcomed and served us a delicious dinner. It was like we stated... More

Incredibly romantic house in northern Portugal. Very close and helpful hosts, willing to help at any time. Although, I would expect greater value from breakfast and room cleaning, I recommend anyone to spend a week here. Relatively close to Barcelos, Braga and Viana do Castelo.

Casa Dos Assentos was a wonderful place to spend a very relaxing day and night after a short walk from Barcelos on our Camino to Santiago from Porto. Luis was a great host and the house and gardens are a delight. We enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal that evening and my room was like stepping back in time. The... More

Casa dos Assentos is located in a small village on the Camino Portuguese and was a very welcome resting place after a long days walking in the sun. It is right next door to the church so is easy to find and the bells stop ringing from 10.00pm - 8.00am so a good nights sleep is assured. A pleasant garden... More

Wonderful service, clean, yet mystical, rooms. It felt like we were transformed into another era of romance and intrigue. The meals were delicious. Everyone was very accommodating. We travel with our 4 teenage boys and they loved it. The spacious and uncrowded beaches of northern Portugal are the best in the world. You'll need a car (or bike) to go... More

We were walking the Camino Portuguese to Santiago de Compostela and found an amazing welcome at Casa dos Assentos after a hot day's walk. Long cool drinks next to the pool, great shower then a huge and tasty meal followed by time with the family - just what we needed. Good breakfast, too. A village festival was taking place when... We were on the Camino Portugues, walking from Porto to Santiago, and Casa dos Assentos was a good stopping place en route. Senhora Julia welcomed us graciously and offered us and other stranded pilgrims dinner. I found the fresh water pool a delight (particularly after 19k walk there) and the surrounding countryside lovely. Being pilgrims she gave us a generous... More

I was encouraged to book this accommodation after reading the tripadvisor review (mistake to rely on just one person's view) and the website for the property. The property was spacious but probably only 2* standard. Our apartment was spacious as described with two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities, a lounge with an old TV, and a poorly equipped kitchen. As... More

We stayed in early May which was a bit out of season. In mid-May I'm sure everthing will be up and running. The grounds are extensive with orange and lemon trees and two pools (in high season) and a tennis court. Our apartment was spacious with two huge bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a huge living room and a... More
