Great location, close to places to eat, ATM, business, city center. A very clean and quiet place.
I arrived at São Bento station and walked away (about 10 minutes from the hostel) and the Ribeira Río Douro is about 15 minutes walk away. When I went to the airport, I took the train at Trindade station which is also nearby to go on foot.
I stayed is a shared room with 8 girls with bathroom in the room (2 showers, 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 1 hairdryer) all very clean. The only thing I did not like was that the shower door was very transparent... I had to put the towel hanging to cover and the beds, it was very uncomfortable to stay in the upstairs bed since you had no privacy, the ones in the downstairs bed had a curtain to close their space, but the ones upstairs we did not have much separation between the 2 beds that remained together upstairs, also when I turned on the light of my bed at night illuminated the whole room, I had to put a handkerchief to cover it and that it was not bothersome for the other girls.

But usually everything else was fine...if I went again I would stay there again (although I would try to order bed downstairs)

This hostel seems very new. The owner may have had some good ideas but unfortunately, didn't pull it off, in my opinion. It is very white, very stark. Noisy, cold, not cosy.

The place echoes terribly so it quickly becomes noisy. There is nothing on the walls, nothing to absorb sound. Many of the very trendy features are not particularly handy. The rain showerhead is lovely but the stall is way too small, considering it is also supposed to double as the changeroom. It has hooks to hang your clothes but they'll be soaked once you're done your shower. I was glad I was in the female dorm so I could just step out of the shower stall to dress. But there's no place to hang your clothes outside of the shower stall. Speaking of hooks, there are no hooks in the dorm rooms either so no place to hang anything. Some simple hooks for each bed would be such a simple, inexpensive and helpful thing to provide.

The towels in the kitchen were scarce and eternally damp so it was never possible to dry your dishes. There weren't even towels, paper or otherwise, in the bathrooms for when you wash your hands after using the toilet. My goodness. Really?

I also wasn't a fan of the breakfast, nothing more than bread and too sweet jam or chocolate goo. The coffee was terrible and the tea choices were dismal. They only had loose tea but only provided one loose tea holder. So only 1 person could have a cup of tea at any one time. Ridiculous.

A big plus for this place is its cleanliness and I also found it a very safe hostel. Two very important points.

But the atmosphere sucks. I think there are several far better hostel choices in Porto.

BEDBUGS!!! Complete infestation. Do not stay here. I managed one night and then was awoken by another girl in my dorm room who was upset. Looked at her mattress and it was COMPLETELY covered in bedbugs, I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and I’ve never seen anything like it. They were everywhere. I've just spent a full day of my holiday in the laundrette in Porto getting all of my clothes washed and dried. Found at least 4 of them on my clothes and a further 6 in my bed. There were at least 15 on this poor girl’s mattress. Left the hostel at 2am to move to another hostel and when I complained about the infestation, they said they already knew about it as a girl had already left due to it. Why they let any new guests stay is beyond me. I wasn't offered a refund, instead they just moved me to a new hostel. I emailed to complain and get a refund which is the absolute least I would expect and received such a snarky, passive aggressive response claiming that I may have brought them in. Insulting considering I came straight from my home to the hostel, and my home absolutely does not have bed bugs, not even considering the sheer scale of the infestation is impossible for me to create in 1 day. There are plenty of nicer hostels in Porto that aren't completely infested and who don't accuse you when you try to complain.

Dear guest That's true that on that night you and the other girl found some bugs ( 1 in your bed and 2 on the other girl's bed as the receptionist checked when you called him) and we have already apologized for that, however that's not true that' they were everywhere as they were not seen and the other guests didn't complain. You have to understand that we are not to blame for that. As everyone knows this is something that can happen anywhere because bugs are brought by the guests themselves ,although we have to immediately take measures and that was exactly what we did. When we were aware of the situation the receptionist immediately took you and the other girl to another hostel and paid for that. The following day a desinfestation service was called to inspect, the guests were all sent to another place, the room was locked and desinfested. Everything is in order again.

We went to this city without any plan on our tour on the Iberian part of europe but people in Lisboa told us that is is really worth to see Oporto and so we decidet spontanisly to make a stop there.
We chose this hostel because friends told us about a new option there and so we took it.
Ok, the hostel is really very basic and looks a little bit like a hospital because most of the hostel is in whithe. The walls, the dormbeds and many things more.
The price and the service was god but the beds and the cleanness of the hostel was not perfekt for sure.
The breakfast was in the price for the nights includet an ok, in relation to the price.
Internet was also there and the bathrooms were also very basic but it worked.

Dear guest Thank you for taking the time to review our property and for your suggestions. If you had asked us we would have recommended a car park just a few steps from the hostel. On the street, as we are in the historic centre it is very difficult to park.

I stayed at this hostel for 4 nights on a solo trip to Porto, Portugal. This hostel is located very central in Porto and easily accessible by foot from Trindade or Aliados Metro stations. The hostel is fresh, modern, and somewhat new. The staff and front desk are welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The hostel has private rooms with shared bathrooms. I opted to stay at a dorm like room with bunk beds. I was able to request my preferred bed and I was lucky to be assigned my preferred bed. The room I stayed in was located on the 3rd floor Room 1. It had 2 showers, 2 toilets, and 2 sinks. It even had a hair dryer and 2 hand towels to use. The lighting was adequate and ventilation was good since it had exhaust fans that switched on when someone was using the bathroom. The rooms were of good size and had a nice sized bed and lockers that fit a carry on size luggage. The room had wide doors that open to the balcony which offered fresh air. The room also has a wall mounted split type air conditioner. Each bed had an electrical outlet, a small ledge to place some items, and a reading light. Each set of bunk beds has a foldable chair which I found useful when organizing items on my backpack. Daily housekeeping was provided and the room was "organized" each day. I preferred my things not to be touched or moved but I did not have any choice. I learned to just lock everything up in my locker to avoid any items being moved. The breakfast was adequate and the kitchen area was of good size to accommodate travelers. It had a cooking area, fridge, utensils, cookware, and microwave. The hostel is not similar to other "party" hostels. This is a quiet hostel which I preferred.

Pros:
- Friendly staff
- Location
- Price
- Overall cleanliness
- Spacious
- Generally quiet compared to other hostels
- No party scene
- Good for introverts

Cons:
- It took 3-5 minutes for the hot water to run
- Housekeeping would move items to organize the room

Many pluses:
Reasonably priced
Close to metro
Clean
Best of all, the lady at the front desk who so kindly pointed out on the map all points of interest

BUT the big minus was NOISE.

My room was the one right across from the reception desk. It faced the street at street level and had no sound insulation whatsoever. This meant that you could hear everything as if the windows were wide open even though they were shut. So anyone passing by having a conversation or some drunk idiots serenading the block at 4AM might as well have been at the foot of your bed because that’s how it sounded. Ear plugs made no difference.
