We were in this hotel last week and the hotel itself is Ok , but some things need improvement. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quit dull , looks like a Hospital restaurant without any atmosphere. Also the waiters at breakfast are unfriendly an without passion . Positive the good service from reception employees and the brilliant barkeeper Bruno who did an amazing job.

Dear RogerR146, we appreciate the time taken to share your experience. We are glad to hear that you particularly valued the service provided by our reception team and our barman Bruno. On the other hand, we are sorry to hear that our hotel did not reach your expectations regarding our restaurant atmosphere during this time, and the service provided during your breakfast. I would like to inform you that we took your feedback in deep consideration and we do apologize for the treatment received, as it is not the service we want to provide to our guests, and I will personally assure it won`t happen again. Also, our Guest Relations and our Front Desk team work 24 hours and are available to help and solve any incident our guests might have during their stay and we would have been delighted to solve these matters in time for an extraordinary experience in Oporto! Nevertheless, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in our Hotel! My sincere regards, Francisco Brito, General Manager

Really good hotel in a superb location in Baltaha square. Nice rooms, very comfortable bed, I normally have trouble sleeping but not here. Nice big bathrooms with a powerful shower. It’s lovely to sit outside of an evening in the square. Super easy to get to all the main areas such as the Ribeira District. Breakfast was included in the room rate and plenty of choice. Customer service levels were good but the star of the show is Bruno the Bar Manager. He knows all the best restaurants and clubs and has all the insider information you need about Porto. His customer service levels were amazing! Want to find anything out? Go see Bruno.

We spent two nights at the NH Porto Batalha and used it as a base for exploring the city. We had been due to stay at the NH Porto Jardim, but as they had not yet re-opened, our booking was moved across to the Porto Batalha. Check-in was easy and we appreciated the welcome drink (juice for children, white port for us). As this is a city centre property, it is not a surprise that the rooms are not very large. There is enough space to move around, but nowhere to really sit and relax. The bathroom had a good walk-in shower (no bathtub) and the bidet was also most welcome, but it didn’t feel very spacious. There was a note on arrival warning us about the building work next door and although noise was meant to be at a minimum before 10am, we were woken up on both mornings around 8am by heavy hammering. I realise this is nothing to do with the hotel, but it looks as though there is still a few months of work to go next-door, so bear it in mind if you like quiet mornings. Breakfast was more of a challenge at the hotel, as they are sticking closely to pandemic requirements (as you would hope). This means that you have to pre-choose your breakfast time slot and then the buffet is served to you. We chose to go down at 9am on the first morning, which was clearly a mistake, it was busy and it took us a long time to get our breakfast. Going down at 10am the next morning was a much better idea and only around half as many guests. The choice at breakfast was good, although hot food was limited to scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and mushroom. The hotel’s location is central and great for exploring the city. The tour buses stop only a few metres away. Unfortunately the square outside the hotel does appear to be a gathering point for a lot of people who enjoy a drink. We didn’t have any problems, it just doesn’t give a great vibe. If you are planning a couple of nights stay in Porto to explore the city, this is a good hotel in a good location, although it is not very quiet. I would still be keen to stay at the NH Porto Jardim, which although only being a few hundred meters away from the action, is probably quieter and also benefits from the rooftop pool area as somewhere to sit and relax.

Dear MrHandBaggageOnly, we appreciate the time taken to share your experience. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel and that you particularly valued our central location, the attention and service provided by our staff specially during check in, and our breakfast selection. On the other hand, we are sorry to hear that our hotel did not reach your expectations regarding your experience at breakfast during your first day and the disconfornt felt from the works of the surrounding building during your stay. I would like to inform you that we took your feedback in deep consideration and I will personally assure it won`t happen again as we have made an agreement with the construction regarding times that noise can be made in order to provide an excellent stay to all our guests. Also, our Guest Relations and our Front Desk team work 24 hours and are available to help and solve any incident our guests might have during their stay and we would have been delighted to solve these matters in time for an extraordinary experience in Oporto! Recently I have been in this hotel with my family to visit Oporto. We stayed in the hotel 2 nights. I only can say good things about this hotel. Staff is absolutely great from reception, breakfast and housekeeping. Due of Covid-19 situation is a little bit strange but staff helps you to make your stay as much comfortable as possible. Hotel is in a perfect location to visit the city just near everything and they have a parking nearby at 15€ per day. Despite Covid-19, Breakfast is really good. They offer high quality products in the breakfast. Jamon Serrano in breakfast is extraordinary. They offered a full buffet breakfast but food needs to be served to you by hotel staff. Room is also nice with comfortable beds and everything you could need. If I would come to Oporto, for sure I will repeat in this hotel. Fully recommend!!

We had a wonderful nights stay at this lovely hotel. The attention to cleanliness and safety was above and beyond anything we could have expected. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Our room was beautifully decorated with a super comfortable bed and linens. Superbly located to walk to all of the sights. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thanks to all of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

If you purchased non refundable rate tickets then no. See if you can get a credit for a future stay. Also realize that the people you are contacting are only able to follow the terms of your ticket. Try sending an email to a member of their management team rather via phone.

Yes, just across the square there are several good, inexpensive restaurants. Both are to your right, one kind of in the corner, the other just before the tourist shop. Also if you walk straight down there is a great little coffee shop. If you keep going and take the funicular down you get to a street by the bridge with great shops and restaurants.

There is indeed building works going on, however; he work seemed to stop reasonably early (16:00) so other than an afternoon nap we were not overly inconvenienced
