We were in this hotel last week and the hotel itself is Ok , but some things need improvement. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quit dull , looks like a Hospital restaurant without any atmosphere. Also the waiters at breakfast are unfriendly an without passion . Positive the good service from reception employees and the brilliant barkeeper Bruno who did an amazing job.
Really good hotel in a superb location in Baltaha square. Nice rooms, very comfortable bed, I normally have trouble sleeping but not here. Nice big bathrooms with a powerful shower. It’s lovely to sit outside of an evening in the square. Super easy to get to all the main areas such as the Ribeira District. Breakfast was included in the room rate and plenty of choice. Customer service levels were good but the star of the show is Bruno the Bar Manager. He knows all the best restaurants and clubs and has all the insider information you need about Porto. His customer service levels were amazing! Want to find anything out? Go see Bruno.
We spent two nights at the NH Porto Batalha and used it as a base for exploring the city. We had been due to stay at the NH Porto Jardim, but as they had not yet re-opened, our booking was moved across to the Porto Batalha. Check-in was easy and we appreciated the welcome drink (juice for children, white port for us). As this is a city centre property, it is not a surprise that the rooms are not very large. There is enough space to move around, but nowhere to really sit and relax. The bathroom had a good walk-in shower (no bathtub) and the bidet was also most welcome, but it didn’t feel very spacious. There was a note on arrival warning us about the building work next door and although noise was meant to be at a minimum before 10am, we were woken up on both mornings around 8am by heavy hammering. I realise this is nothing to do with the hotel, but it looks as though there is still a few months of work to go next-door, so bear it in mind if you like quiet mornings. Breakfast was more of a challenge at the hotel, as they are sticking closely to pandemic requirements (as you would hope). This means that you have to pre-choose your breakfast time slot and then the buffet is served to you. We chose to go down at 9am on the first morning, which was clearly a mistake, it was busy and it took us a long time to get our breakfast. Going down at 10am the next morning was a much better idea and only around half as many guests. The choice at breakfast was good, although hot food was limited to scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and mushroom. The hotel’s location is central and great for exploring the city. The tour buses stop only a few metres away. Unfortunately the square outside the hotel does appear to be a gathering point for a lot of people who enjoy a drink. We didn’t have any problems, it just doesn’t give a great vibe. If you are planning a couple of nights stay in Porto to explore the city, this is a good hotel in a good location, although it is not very quiet. I would still be keen to stay at the NH Porto Jardim, which although only being a few hundred meters away from the action, is probably quieter and also benefits from the rooftop pool area as somewhere to sit and relax.…
Recently I have been in this hotel with my family to visit Oporto. We stayed in the hotel 2 nights. I only can say good things about this hotel. Staff is absolutely great from reception, breakfast and housekeeping. Due of Covid-19 situation is a little bit strange but staff helps you to make your stay as much comfortable as possible. Hotel is in a perfect location to visit the city just near everything and they have a parking nearby at 15€ per day. Despite Covid-19, Breakfast is really good. They offer high quality products in the breakfast. Jamon Serrano in breakfast is extraordinary. They offered a full buffet breakfast but food needs to be served to you by hotel staff. Room is also nice with comfortable beds and everything you could need. If I would come to Oporto, for sure I will repeat in this hotel. Fully recommend!!…
We had a wonderful nights stay at this lovely hotel. The attention to cleanliness and safety was above and beyond anything we could have expected. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Our room was beautifully decorated with a super comfortable bed and linens. Superbly located to walk to all of the sights. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thanks to all of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.
