Be fair, when have you been checked in and out with hearty handshake? All the time we had the feeling that the staff took care, starting from the check-in to the missing hairdryer to the service while breakfast and at the bar. The room was not very big, but fine. It was direction train station and there is no real...

This hotel is gorgeous! It is a 16th century manor house that has been updated with modern fixtures while keeping all the charm of the original house. Our room faces the front of the hotel and is very comfortable and impeccably clean. This hotel gets an A+ for its location -- within walking distance of the town center with many,...

You don't expect a hotel right next to the train station to be first class, but such is the case here. It's been there for a lot longer than the station, and was a stately home long before the rails arrived. We had a deluxe twin on the first floor, which was spacious, comfortable and quiet, despite being just above...

One of the Greatest and Unique Festivals of the World and the most important one in Portugal is "Romaria da Senhora da Agonia", (a mixture of folklore, music, color, clothes, tradition, religion, and "GOLD"), takes place in Viana do Castelo, Portugal-once a year, in August. If you can make a point to go there, you "MUST" stay at "Hotel Casa...

The hotel is amazing, it is good located (near train and bus stations), good personal and free buffet breakfast. However due the doors between rooms sometimes you can hear the TV of the another room (loud). The room was clean but we had the feeling that they never cleaned the room after we checked in. They just replaced the amenities...

We loved the hotel and the staff we very friendly. The lobby and facility is beautiful - felt luxurious. Breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect - by the train station One issue is why we give 4 stars - Our room was on the second floor with one small window. I only mention this as the air conditioning...

This hotel was beautifully built upon and inside a castle dating back hundreds of years. We were upgraded to a lovely suite. Beautiful antiques yet clean and comfortable. Staff helped us with logistics . Nice breakfast included .

Booked for a night and stayed on as so lovely. Best welcome from staff ever and we stayed in 6 hotels in Northern Portugal. Lovely old building with lots of character but modern facilities. Perfect location for exploring town. We had free parking and also made use of free bikes to cycle to beach. Lots of tips from Rita who...

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a historic building, yet it is incredibly well located. Just cross the street to get to the incredibly wonderful historic area of the city. Rainy day? There's a mall with multiplex cinema. The train station is behind the hotel, although there is no noise whatsoever. The mall is actually called "Estação", which means...

Typically in Portugal in order to stay at a historic inn, I've had to stay out of the center of town I'm visiting (needing a car). Not here. This well preserved inn offers tasteful rooms of stone and wood with modern conveniences (flat screen tv, modern bathroom, free wifi). Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet has good variety and...
