Spacious room with lovely bedding and towels. Breakfast was so delicious, and my gluten free dietery needs were very well catered for. The location of the house was fab, just up the hill from thd beach, with fabulous views. We were very comfortable here.

This felt like a home from home, our room was excellent. Spotlessly clean and the choice at breakfast was amazing. Paul's Hollandaise sauce is truly wonderful! Very comfy bed, quiet and in a great location. We were made to feel very welcome by lovely hosts. Thanks for such a great holiday, we really appreciated all you did to make our stay special : )

This is a fantastic Guest house!!! We stayed for two nights in a twin room that was just lovely. A double bed and a single, perfect. There was also a small kitchen with kettle, fridge, table and chairs crockery and cutlery. Penty of coffee, tea, hot choccy, biscuits, fresh milk in the fridge. Smashing bathroom wih a good shower and plenty of hot water. We were on a visit to see the Puffins on Skoomer Island so was great to be able to fill our flasks. Could have used the facilities to make our sandwiches for our day trip, but, I decided to order a packed lunch which was perfect. I work as a breakfast chef in a Hilton hotel.....no pressure there. Beautiful breakfast, fantastic selection of fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, jucies etc, as you would expect in a guest house. The hot selection just went one step up with Eggs Royal, Eggs Benidict, my favourite....homemade hollandaise. My friend Naomi had a full welsh breakfast which was spot on. Paul made the perfect poached eggs!!! Jo and Paul were the perfect hosts, living in the beautiful village of Little Haven. Advice when we asked and recomendations for our evening meal in the village. Hope to go back soon. thank you both for a fantastic stay, Viv and Naomi xxx…

We booked direct on the phone with Paul because I have specific dietary needs and he assured me they would be accommodated, I also asked for a sea view. We were given what must be their worst room (I looked in several others whilst there) and the view through the dirty windows was of a very untidy garden - no sea. However, the room was adequate although disappointing and my poor review is not down to that. The first morning I just had strawberries from the buffet as we were going to skomer island and in a bit of a rush. The second morning I enquired what was available to me from the menu as I had been assured by Paul there would be a choice - there wasn’t. After some friendly chat with the lovely waitress I settled on my only option which was smashed avocado and despite her helpfully trying to add tomatoes and onion I asked for it to be completely plain. When it came I felt my mouth burning and asked what was on it. They had added a dressing - which was very irresponsible and potentially very dangerous as they knew full well I was at risk. Paul’s wife then came out and in front of a packed dining room started to scream at me, shouting that I was a trouble maker, had done nothing but moan and we should leave - we were mortified and I was in tears!! We packed immediately and left, our holiday ruined. Why she acted like that I don’t know and it was truly appalling and upsetting.…

Response from Paul Williams, Owner at Pendyffryn Guesthouse and B&B
Responded 23 Jul 2023
Thank you for your sparkling review. We would like to say what a pleasure it was to welcome such a wonderful guest into our home. But we can't. We would like to give an award for the most arrogant, self centred, spoilt, indulged and stupid person it has been our misfortune to meet during many years in the hospitality business. In the absense of Tripadvisor removing this I am forced to reply and will give detail as to why this is completely untrue and, if not volountarily removed, will be seeking a legal remedy. The following is a provable and documented summary of our dealings with this person. In the first instance the booking was not made by the reviewer bu on 21 January 2023 by somebody else. . He asked us for a double room not mentioning sea view, and advised us 'ONLY' that his wife was gluten and dairy intolerant. Intolerance being far removed from allergy. This was noted on the booking form. There was no other mention of foods that could cause harm in any way. The reveiwer's sister had previously tried to write a review that accused us of purposely endangering her sister. A copy of which has been retained. That alone is defamation. On check-in it was explained that we had two rooms available. The one allocated to her and another on the floor below that we had provisionally allocated to an elderly guest suffering mobility issues. Her reply: "I'm pissed off about that. I want this room". On her own admission, the reveiwer says she looked in several other rooms while she was with us. As they all were occupied by other guests for the duration of her stay you can only assume that she must have forced entry. Not a very desirable action from our perspective and not one our other guests should have to endure. The reviewer goes on to say that on her second morning what was available to her and states there was no choice. Remember that we have been told gluten and dairy 'intolerant' NOT allergic. I will now give a brief summary of what is available on our menu everyday that meets with the gluten and dairy intolerant need as well as our ability to alter or adapt other dishes if requested to do so. There is always gluten free bread and non dairy milks available if requested. Full breakfast from a pick list: Bacon, black pudding, mushroom, tomato, beans and egg. Exclude sausage and hash browns because they do contain gluten. Omelette with choice of filling or plain. Fillings: Bacon, mushroom, vegetables, smoked salmon or a combination. Porridge & corn flakes. Both available gluten free on request. Kippers with or without poached egg. Crushed avocado toast with poached egg or salmon (gluten free toast option available) Scrambled egg, smoked salmon and tomato This is not mentioning a buffet of fresh fruit, nuts and seeds, prunes and juices. As far as I know NONE of the above contain gluten or dairy or can be made without. Otherwise, like many days, we will vary and add at a guests request. For instance boiled eggs. I will now relay the exact conversation had with this guest and please remember the booking was made in January. You would therefore assume that after at least six months the person who had the intolerances would have some idea what they could and couldn't eat. Her to our employee: "is bacon gluten free" (yes, you did readthat right) Us. "yes" . " Can I have that with the crushed avocado but without the toast.". "Yes". The avocado is made fresh each day and lightly seasoned with a tiny dash of tobasco and fresh lime juice. I have checked extensively and I can confirm that neither contain any gluten or dairy products. I can also state catagoricaly, that I would never add so much tobasco as to make it hot. I want people to eat food. It is also upon the dinner to inform us or ask what is in a dish. We are NOT mind readers. On delivery her "stage whisper" comment was "look at that, they don't even know how to crisp the bacon how I like it'. First, I am not a blood relative of Mystic Meg and secondly, any usual guest would ask for their preferred option not expect us to know. There is one absolute certain fact and that is that my wife nor I at any time raised our voice to this lady but after hearing several more barbed comments said in an audible way and creating an atmosphere amongst other guests we decided we did not want her in our house and she was asked to pack and leave. Again we can call on guest statements to confirm this.It speaks volumes that the guests sat at the next table to her later gave us a gift as a thank you for getting her out of our house. I can state, and prepared to do so under oath, that at no time did we place the guest in any danger from food prepared and served by us. Under UK law it is no longer acceptable to bend, twist and ignore the truth in an attempt to harm another person or business. As stated above, if not removed immediately, I will be seeking a legal solution to this matter.

Up a hill with lovely views we had a spacious bedroom with great views. Breakfast choices amazing. A nice surprise after entering as house looks a bit dated. Definitely recommend it. We were walking the coastal path.

Wonderful guest house in quiet seaside village, great hosts and very knowledgeable about our upcoming trip to Skomer island to see the puffins! Excellent breakfast with a good variety, we had a room with a sea view, not far to walk to the local pubs for something to eat

Pendyffryn guest house is a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful village of Little Haven. The view from our room was magical and it was fantastic to watch the sun going down. Jo and Paul are great hosts and made us feel very welcome, I was particularly impressed that they were able to provide us with a packed lunch at very short notice despite being right in the middle of breakfast service. Paul’s advice to try a pint of Bass at the Swan was an excellent steer and sitting in the harbour with a pint of delicious beer was very relaxing. Everything about Pendyffryn, the room, the breakfast and the friendly hosts is outstanding and we are looking forward to visiting again - thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

It very much exceeded our expectations. Paul greeted us as we pulled up outside, and showed us to our beautiful room which had superb views out to sea. It was lovely to sit in the bay window sipping a cuppa. The room was immaculate, fresh and airy. Plenty of tea and coffee plus fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast comprised everything we could have wished for, served by Paul’s lovely wife, who also made us some sandwiches to take with us to Skomer. I’d highly recommend this fantastic gem.

A one night stay whilst walking the coast path. Very comfortable and clean. Delightful host, and extremely good breakfast to send us on our way. Supper at nearby St Brides Hotel was very good too. Our room on the top floor had a kitchen, with fridge.
