Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.

Is there a train station near by and how far to the airport ? Please
From the airport the distance to heart of Athens is 30 km. The access to Athens Center Square hotel is very simple by metro or taxi. By Metro: From the airport you could take the metro direct line number 3 until Monastiraki Square. The train runs every 30 min.The journey is about 40 minutes. It operates from 06:35- 23:35. A single fare costs 10 euro. Don't forget to validate your ticket and take care of your belongings . When you get out of the station, (exit Athinas street) you should turn left and walk on Athinas street for 300 meters. You should turn left again on the street after the first traffic light. This is ARISTOGITONOS street, the pedestrian street were is the fruit market. You will see Athens Center Square hotel few meters to your left. On Athinas street there are kiosks with signs of our hotel. By Taxi: The journey is approximately 35 - 45 minutes. The cost is 39 euro, with an extra charge during the night. Private transfer can be aranged by contacting in advance our reservation service The train station is not far but if you have to take a taxi or the metro.

The metro is very safe but please mind your personal belongings at all time. Be careful for pick pockets. I think that you might get the metro if your flight is on time. If not you may get the bus for 6 euro per person. You pay at the bus driver. X95 is the bus you need and the terminal is Syntagma square. From there I suggest that you take a taxi to the hotel as it is night. The taxi will cost appr 6 euro for all of you. The taxi should go down Mitropoleos street and turn right on to Eolou street. at 300m is Aristogitonos street where the hotel is located. This is a pedestrian street that in the morning is very lively due to the fruit market. At night is dark and empty but you do not have to fear anything. Athens is a safe city but as in everywhere you have to be careful and mind you belongings. Taxi driver can stop you in front of the hotel at night as there is no market. Should you need extra information pls print a map from our web site. Thank you
