Coco-mat Athens BC enjoys accolades for its rooftop pool and bar, offering breathtaking views of the Acropolis, and is celebrated for its comfortable amenities and exceptional service, though the pool space receives some criticism for its size. Guests have experienced varying satisfaction with room sizes and views, but cleanliness throughout the hotel is consistently praised. The prime location is a highlight, perfect for exploring nearby attractions like the Acropolis and Plaka. However, some guests feel the hotel doesn't provide enough value, citing small rooms and high costs for amenities.

Eco friendly hotel all natural resources around the hotel, perfect location to get round Athens and local attractions all within walking distancing. Staff very attentive, gifted with a welcome pack with a few different drinks and local beers which was a nice touch as the reusable bag has come in handy this week. Rooms are small as expected with a city break, views from rooms are not offered even at front desk for a fee, one side of hotel is the acropolis and the other side backstreet would of been nice to have the option.
Roof top bar and pool with excellent views is definitely a plus point , drinks a little expensive 10-14€ for cocktails but the views and surroundings make up for that.
Gym/spa - indoor pool closed due to COVID 19 which is fair enough but social distancing is hardly implemented when guests jump in the lift with you (even with signs clearly stating 1 room at a time in lift). Gym is ok not really for working out, with weights made of sand and arm bike relying on water it’s more of a statement eco friendly gym not really for working out in as it’s just in the corner no real designated space.
Only real negative is the breakfast - would of been better staying room only. The “continental breakfast” is abit of a con there’s nothing continental with about 3 choices of bread by the toaster and a few slices of cheese , adding cookies to the table does not make breakfast more acceptable really would not expect this from a 3 star hotel nevermind 5!! Omelettes are available on request if you have all day to wait it’s not worth getting excited over.

With a short walk to the lesser known and lesser crowded south entrance at the Acropolis, this hotel has the perfect location for exploring Athen. Dont expect the best 5 star service though, you kind of notice this hotel have newly opened and are in lack of some good routines. We had to wait 40 minutes for our drinks by the pool and it was difficult to order something there during the day time. A little disappointing since I specifally sent them an email upon arrival to ask if we could have a lunch by the pool during day time (restaurant opened 3 pm). Nice staff, but they should be a little bit more attentive and service minded over all. The in room breakfest would be so much better if you could choose what you like, this would also reduce food waste. We didnt eat much of ours, which also was 15 minutes late on the day of departure and we had to call the reception to Ask for it.

Still, the pool, the location and the over all design and look of the hotel would made me come back. The Acropolis view room and roof top was amazing.

Coco-Mat is a fantastic hotel; from the beautiful decor and aesthetic which is peaceful light and airy, to the wonderful staff who are so friendly and always ready to go above and beyond. We were treated so well during our stay, every staff member was so lovely, especially the lady with blonde hair on reception, and the two ladies with long dark hair on breakfast. Breakfast is also really good, lots of delicious pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and even real honeycomb. The room itself was beautiful, lovely furniture and lots of natural light. The panoramic views on the rooftop terrace were unbeatable, the Acropolis, the gate, and the sea. The pool was beautiful, perfect to cool down in. I honestly cannot fault our stay and it became the best thing about being in Athens. The hotel also dealt very well with covid-19 restrictions, we felt very safe and everything was very hygienic. Thank you so much to the whole team, we loved it and will be recommending it to everyone!

I am very confused at the amount of rave reviews for this hotel. I have to be clear from the outset that there is nothing luxury about this hotel. The mostly-wood decor looks like cheap laminate and is reminiscent of my old university halls. The curtains are not black out. The rooms are small. The shower leaks on to the floor. Your knees touch the wall when you sit on the toilet. The rooftop pool looks tired and has only upright seating, no loungers. That being said there is only seating for around ten people and I was able to sit by the pool once during the week I was there. The breakfast is below average, oh and you have to queue for a seat even if you book a table as instructed. The gym is style over substance. The beds are extremely comfortable as you would expect from a brand that make luxury mattresses. The staff are without exception, wonderful and attentive. The location is perfect to discover Athens. This is essentially a three star hotel pretending to be a five star hotel. If you're choosing it for the pool, I wouldn't bother. Take a cab to the beach each day. I have to reiterate that my negative feelings are about a hotel which doesn't really deserve its location, or staff rating. The staff are phenomenal.

From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were brilliant and extremely accommodating. We actually had a room on the fifth floor but due to an issue within the room the hotel staff immediately upgraded us to a suite, this was an added beautiful touch which surprised my partner as this was actually a surprise birthday treat for him as we arrived into Athens Greece. The views of acro polis were absolutely stunning we had a sweet with a balcony and the complimentary wine and fruit was such a beautiful touch to the hotel which really made the stay feel even more special.

Aesthetically the building is built beautifully, They have turtles and fishes within the spa area need the gym and inside the building just is very stunning. The hotel has been extremely Covid Prevented an extremely clean and felt very safe. At breakfast they have continental breakfast but I would highly recommend to suggest alternatives as we were not aware until the last day that that was an option however the breakfast was still very nice and enjoyable. I would recommend the herbal tea from staff as that was quite nice and from the mountains.

The gym is really interesting and you can tell it is very eco-friendly however the rower I would recommend to bring some gym gloves as it did hurt slightly and I would recommend another treadmill however it was still very nice and spacious and clean.

We had actually booked the spa service and it was really nice to have to ourselves however we were limited with a 30 minute window which meant we had the steam sauna and swimming pool all to ourselves but we would usually have 30 minutes just for the sauna so I would recommend potentially extending that time, however the whole experience was amazing and really accommodating. We also had a couples massage booked now we provided positive feedback as the staff were really great however I found out after my partner had a male masseuse and said he wasn’t really that great but didn’t have the heart to say anything negative as he was really a lovely staff member so I would recommend to use the lady instead if you are to book a spa massage as I had the lady and she was absolutely fantastic she knew what she was doing and really made my massage feel great.

The disappointing part was we arrived at Athens Greece at the wrong time during winter in December therefore that meant the rooftop bar and pool was closed but with that said we were still allowed to go upstairs to the rooftop and take pictures and the view is absolutely stunning.

If I were to visit again, I would stay here again. I would absolutely recommend. Thank you everyone at Coco-Mat Athens BC!

Without question the best “first night” on the continent experience I have ever had. Even though we arrived early, our sanitized and sealed room was ready, clean and comfortable. We had a short nap in our cool room even though the temperature outside was a crazy 104 F. We then enjoyed the rooftop pool with view of the Acropolis before heading out for exploration and dinner.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was 5 star with lots of authentic local offerings and super safe health protocols (masks, disposable gloves, etc). Can’t wait for a return visit.

There are some negatives about this hotel that could be attributed to current "covide" climate and some that can't.
The bad stuff:
Our room was I think a city view room. In fact it looked out on a scruffy car park and although there was a small balcony there was no view.
Our room was not serviced properly twice and not at all once (as had asked for it to be serviced daily).
The rooftop pool area is big enough for one, maybe two families so don't assume you will get space to use it.
The gym is pretty rubbish and if you are a regular gym goer you will be disappointed.
Breakfast is adequate, no more.
The rooftop bar food and drinks are over priced and not great when compared with the locality.
Room aircon is controlled by the reception....but they don't tell you
The good stuff;
Rooftop bar view is awesome.
Very comfy bed and quiet room (one you figure out the ac)
Staff all friendly (but perhaps not well trained)
The location is superb for walking around the city (which is a great thing to do)
Shower was always hot (a must)

There is more than one Coco Mat hotel in Athens and I suspect the other one is more "cool" and luxurious. Be very sure which you book.
This place was fine for a week but had no sense of occasion and is not remotely luxurious, more up market budget.

This is the hotel that perfected our stay at Athens. The staff is attentive and hospitable. We felt like home the moment we were greeted. We had three nights stay with two having the acropolis view and another with museum view because of some blunder at our end but the hotel staff was so kind to arrange a free upgrade so that we did not have to change room midway. The acropolis view room is worth the extra euros paid. The balcony gives the most perfect view of the entire acropolis and the museum. In fact we felt that we were just part of the acropolis staying so close by. This is the tallest hotel in the vicinity that allows such spectacular view. We stayed in level 8. All the amenities were provided for with excellent mandarin scented hand sanitizers by Zealots. We were also gifted with a bag of refreshing drinks upon checking in. Hotel’s wide breakfast selection is Similar daily and we can also order eggs in whichever style we preferred. The roof top bar is stunning but we didn’t have the chance to dine nor swim there. Would consider if I visit again. If there is one hotel I would go, it would be Cocomat BC Athens.

We stayed for another two nights after our trip out to Santorini. This time round we stayed at level 7 with a city view room. Room is just as comfortable but the view is surely different from the first we had.

Logistically , it is just beside the Acropolis metro which is 3-5 minutes walk away. The walk there is brightly lit and lined with excellent restaurants till late evening like 10pm plus even in November. There is a good coffee joint just round the corner for one’s daily coffee fix. One flat white is priced at 2.10 euros.

This hotel has been a great find. We loved everything about this stylish eco-friendly hotel: Superb location at the foot of the Acropolis near lots of restaurants in a pedestrian street, the room (robes and slippers, wonderful toiletries, espresso machine, nice china/glasses, balcony with view of Acropolis, comfortable bedding, excellent noise insulation), the rooftop pool and restaurant (a bit pricey), the 360-degree view of metropolitan Athens from the roof, the architecturally interesting interior, the delicious breakfast spread. To boot, there is an archaeological site under glass in the lobby. Also impressive - the impeccable service.
One downside: Our room was pretty small and didn't have a dresser or a lot of storage for luggage. The only seating, beside a chair at a tiny desk, was on the balcony. However, all in all, we highly recommend this hotel!

This was our first time visiting Athens so we’ve never stayed anywhere else but from the moment we walked into coco mat bc, we knew we’d picked the right place. The location is so close to the train station that you’ll be thankful you don’t have to trek so far with luggage! Coming out of the train station of Akropoli, the street is full and vibrant, truly an aesthetic area! The hotel itself though is the real treat! The staff are helpful and attentive, check in process is swift with all the main information like wifi and opening times of the facilities with your room key. The hotel boasts a luxurious underground spa area, a fantastic breakfast (best we’ve had at a hotel) but best of all, the best view from any hotel we’ve ever stayed, reaching the rooftop, you’ll find a outdoor pool (not heated), a rooftop bar/dining area and a front of house ticket to the Acropolis. Looking around the surrounding from the rooftop, there is not a building in sight that boasts such a view as coco mat bc, it blew us away every time we were up there. The room itself in plentiful for our stay which was 3 nights, but could definitely still be comfortable for a couple of weeks if necessary. You’ll find the hotel has a very modern-eco friendly vibe with many in room amenities. We booked a basic room with no view but that didn’t discourage us as the view from the roof supplied all views we required. We could go on and on about how fantastic the hotel is but we will finish by saying if we are ever in Athens again, without doubt it’ll be here!

Dear Caprica Tripp, The decision of the Greek authorities, regarding the height of the building, concerns the owning company of the building "Blue Cedar". As for our company "Hotel Cluster", the operation of the hotel COCO-MAT Athens BC remains unaffected from the above fact.
