We stayed in A for Athens for 5 nights. It's right in the middle of everything so it was perfect for us. It's a 2-min walk to the metro. Just step outside and you'd be spoilt for choice for food. We went up to the Acropolis via metro and ended up near the hotel on our way down! Don't be...

The hotel boasts the warm welcome and ambience. Effusively welcomed and assisted by the concierge team who took care of our LV suitcases and numerous shopping bags very well. Housekeepers delivered prompt and efficient service and were ready to clear our room after called for this additional service during the day. Slightly disappointed with the front office who refused to...

I love Athens and being at A for Athens Hotel. Right in the middle of the hustle and bustle and vibrancy of the tourist district. Practically walk to everything you want to see and do. A bit noisy but the pay off is worth the ear plugs. The Acropolis view is breathtaking. The rooftop dining is perfect. The food wonderful....

Overlooking the Monastiraki Square with the Acropolis looming in the background, the location of this hotel is by far the best we saw (we were in Athens a few days earlier and had walked into 3-4 hotels around the Acropolis to check out rooms and find "the perfect" hotel to stay at for our anniversary). Try and get the rooms...

I saw on trip advisor A For Athens was a good place for drinks. Right in Monastiraki square so close to my hotel. The two bartenders Theo and Theo were great! My drinks were made with passion and creativity! I have traveled many places but these two bartenders were superb! Next time in Athens I will definitely go for drinks...

Tiny space, very crowded which is not understandable due to the bad service provided, impolite staff...! There are better terraces in Athens, so don't waste your time and avoid this place! Staff didn't even make any effort to speak English at all, really disappointed!

What can I say? A comfortable room with big windows in front of the Acropolis. A roof terrace overlooking everything. Great cocktails. Great breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Go there if you want to see Athens! It's right in the middle of everything this great city has to offer.

Getting off of the plane at the Athens airport we weren’t really sure how to get there but we had our Lonely Planet guide for Greece and read reviews about how it was cheapest to take the train. So we went over to the train station and figured out to get on the blue line which went to Monastiraki Square....

I do not think I could have handled the noise from a lower level room. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Starting at 7am sharp, there was construction noise until about 4pm. At about 9pm the sounds of drunk pedestrians and musicians last until about 3am. The restaurant delivered to our room. The food was very pleasing and the guy...

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
