Hotel Acropolis House is a preserved mansion of the last century, in excellent condition. It is consisted essentially of two different buildings together. The oldest of these is a stone manor house about 120 years old and the other is well-built four-floor building of 75 years. In 1965 it was modified to a hotel from the family Choudalakis, which operates since. Generally the hotel is a two star family business with character, providing security and full service to both families, and unique people who respect the identity of the hotel. In total the hotel has comfortable single, double and large rooms for families. The Hotel Acropolis House has a non smoking policy in all areas. Guests may smoke in the terrace of the first floor. Hotel Acropolis House is located at the gates of Plaka having so the advantage of being close to all the interesting places without the disadvantage of the hustle of the people and vehicles visiting the site. It is situated in a stunning location, either for professional or tourist as it is a 10-minute walk from the monument of Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum, 3 minutes from Syntagma Square and the metro / bus and 2 minutes from the commercial and business center of Athens. Near the hotel there are parking, museums, pharmacies and the tourist information office. The hotel has a breakfast room, which served continental style breakfast very early in the morning for early morning flights (from 07.30 Until 10.30). There is luggage storage and safe for customers. Finally, Hotel Acropolis House has a library, with a rich collection, to borrow books from. This is himself occasionally enriched by the customers.

Home from another enjoyable stay at Acropolis House. We had a staggered twelve night stay and enjoyed the comfort of it all. Felt as if we’d never been away, lovely friendly welcome at breakfast from Emannuella and Penny, these ladies work hard providing guests with a good set Greek breakfast, eggs cheese, ham, bread and always fresh cake and fruit. The bedrooms are clean and tidy fresh towels everyday always a good morning from housekeeping staff. I’m sorry I don’t know young man on evening reception name but always smile when we returned after a good day of sightseeing. Hope to be back in future. Perfect setting for historical sites, restaurants, transport and shopping.

We stayed in the Acropolis House for 5 nights in April. We saw the hotel on a list of hotels in the Plaka while reading Rick Steves’ guide on Greece. We found the hotel comfortable and just what we needed – a base, centrally located, where we could sleep, shower and change – being perfectly located in the Plaka close to all the sites; the Acropolis, Syntagma Square, the Agora, Hadrian’s Library, etc. Whenever we finished our day’s excursion, we found we were only ever 10 minutes or less from the hotel.
Emanuella, who runs the hotel, was very helpful as were all her staff. Her daughter even took time out from eating her dinner to make us coffee as the member of staff on duty was busy with another guest.
The breakfast was simple but enjoyable and the homemade cake was delicious. We usually left before breakfast started but, if you notified them the day before, they would make breakfast to go.
Something a potential guest should know; the rooms are small, as are the bathrooms. Some of the bathrooms are across the hall; we had a triple ensuite room with a small balcony for the 2 of us. A third adult would have made the room feel cramped. However, we never intended on staying in the hotel except to sleep – there is far too much to see and do in Athens! Additionally, there are no elevators, so you must carry your luggage up the winding staircase.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and if you want a centrally located, comfortable hotel the Acropolis House should be considered.

This is a very charming hotel in the old historical center (Plaka) near the many attractions so you mostly do not need a public transport. The Hotel fosters the vibe from the beginning of the XX century that you could enjoy in a way. If you like a modern interior this is not choice for you. Staff are mostly kind, attentive and helpful. Prices are affordable. Breakfast is satisfying. Bed was comfortable.

Just returned from 10 nights at The Acropolis House hotel. We had gone for 5nights, went somewhere else then returned for another 5. We stayed in this hotel 24years ago and promised ourselves a return after Covid. A few changes but good memories .The hotel is now owned/managed by 3rd generation. We had a very warm welcome. Breakfast next morning was plentiful with table service of boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Fresh fruit and homemade cake, always plenty of bread to toast if required plenty tea and coffee. If leaving before breakfast you can ask for a breakfast bag.
I’m sorry to say we did not ask the blonde lady who looked after us so well her name, always a smile and chat, we even bumped into her in the streets of Plaka and chatted. The young man on reception most evenings was also friendly and helpful. Always a smile from housekeeping ladies, kept rooms very clean always changes of towels. A couple of times we didn’t bother with room service.
This is a 2star hotel in an old Plaka mansion house, so no lift, smallish but very clean rooms.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for good service and excellent location.

LOCATION: The hotel was well located in Plaka 6 minutes from Syntagma Square and 10 minutes from Monastiraki square.
FACILITIES: The room had everything you need.
STAFF: The staff were very pleasant & welcoming. Penny in particular who served breakfast was really friendly and worthy of mention. And her breakfast, what a breakfast! A real feast of goodies included figs, boiled eggs & her Grannies home-made cake recipe. Delicious & all served with a smile.

The hotel was conveniently located near Syntagma Square and Acropolis. We were able to see Acropolis from our bathroom window.
The room was very small. There was no space between double bed and single bed. The private bathroom was outside which was inconvenient. There was a step to get into the bathroom which could lead to trip and fall situations. The floor in the bathroom was uneven which was also dangerous.
There was no elevator so we had to carry our luggage to the third floor via spiral staircase. It was very noisy at night, the sound was coming from both inside and outside the hotel. Even regular conversation could be heard inside our room.
The breakfast was limited. The lady who was serving breakfast was rude. She didn't offer yogurt. When I asked about yogurt she asked how many did we need. I told that I needed 3 yogurts for 3 people. The lady said, "Are you sure? Because I don't won't my yogurt to be wasted". We felt unwelcome there.

We stayed one night in this hotel located in the heart of Plaka close to all the tourist places.
They prepared breakfast for us to take away in the morning since we got up very early, a nice touch.
The accommodation is a 19th century mansion converted into a hotel that with proper maintenance could be wonderful... But it is not.
After arranging a taxi transfer from the port with them (by word of mouth), they canceled it because according to them, our ferry was late, which was not the case, we had to find our way with another taxi.
The communication with the person responsible for our check-in was not good but the worst was yet to come: a room with a horror movie toilet, a shower for Lilliputians and a smelly curtain that stuck to your body, the bed did not It had a fitted sheet and the room was full of dust, as well as the TV remote control that didn't work. We got the feeling that this room had not been used for a long time.
There are 4 floors without an elevator, an aspect that, from my point of view, violates the basic standards of universal accessibility.

They are really kind and the rooms are very clean but unfortunately they are not suitable for families of 4 people because the extra bed is really unusable. The bathroom is really very small. Good breakfast but we changed after the first night for a better situation

This quaint hotel is right at the heart of Athens with wonderful views of the Acropolis. A great location close to the metro, shopping areas, markets etc. a lovely family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble, even helping me to book PCR for travelling. Great value for money too, well worth checking out if you are visiting Athens.
