Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is in a cul-de-sac. Small but very beautiful property. Clean and cozy. Rooms are small but very nicely painted and upholstered. Loved it! It is very near the main road. Lobby is also very nice and beautiful.

This is a great value no-frills type hotel situated in a great location to explore the main tourist areas of Athens. While you have so many shops, bars and restaurants right on your doorstep you will also have the quietest sleep at the end of a cosy cul-de-sac. Acropolis and Acropolis Museum are with a 15 min walk. Hosts, Nancy, Christos and Dimitris were amazing. Extremely helpful friendly and polite with all the necessary recommendations for the restaurants in the area. Rooms were really pretty and immaculate. Prices were definitely low. Last year we stayed in the beautifully styled Marblehouse appartment which was also spotlessly clean and a perfect fit for us. This year ,unfortunately the apartment was booked but we had an also fantastic stay in one of Marblehouse rooms. Would highly recommend both the hotel and the apartment.

Marble House first appealed to me due to it being located on the less touristy side of the Acropolis. The location is absolutely perfect on a quiet road just around the corner from authentically Greek family run restaurants and bakeries. It's also only a short 10 minute walk up to the Acropolis museum and the majority of main sites in Athens making it a perfect base for exploring.
The staff were all very friendly and provided excellent detailed information on how to get from the airport to the hotel via the metro. The rooms had everything you could need and were kept very clean by the staff. The only thing to note is that there is an additional charge applied for using the air conditioning if you need it.
If you want to stay in an area away from the typical tourist hustle and bustle then I can't recommend Marble Hotel enough. When I'm next in Athens I'll definitely be staying here again without any hesitation.

Extremely clean hotel in a peaceful location run by helpful and friendly people. Try your best to get a room with a balcony which looked more pleasant than ours which did not have one. Our room would have been nicer with one since our room was very small and a bit dark. However, it was clean, had a private bathroom, and was very well priced. Be aware that the spotless bathrooms are small and that AC is another 5 euros per day. The walkability here was amazing and the hotel's location on a leafy dead-end street made it a quiet respite. The front desk staff are kind, informative, and helpful (arranged a cab at 5:30am to take us to the ferry port). In short, we would stay here again, especially if we could get a balcony room or the apartment with kitchen.

i spend 3 night in marble house. My plan was to see Athens and this place is the perfect location, in 2 minutes you are at the metro and from the hotel the city centre is 5 minute walk. A lot of eat possibillities and everything is on walking distance.

I first stayed at Marble House in 1991! This was my 4th visit, and I'll go back again. It's a short walk to the Acropolis entrance, and the Syggrou metro station is a 5 min walk. There are breakfast places nearby along Syggrou, and it's 3 blocks to the restaurant strip along Georgios Olimpiou. It's at the end of a dead end street, so there's no traffic noise. We stayed in the apartment, which has a separate entrance and patio, and a small kitchen. It has a big bed in its own room plus two fold-outs in the living room; it can sleep 5, but with both fold-outs open there's not much space to move around. Christos and his family are very friendly and helpful.

We were recommended this by a friend and as it was so inexpensive we were nervous. We should not have been. Cristos and his family were welcoming and very helpful by email before we arrived. He steered us in the direction of a vaccination centre for compulsory tests, he was very helpful. Rooms are spotlessly clean and quiet ours had a modern up to date shower attached. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the acropolis site and near an underground station, sigrou fix. I would give it five stars, but they do not provide breakfast post COVID so you have to go out but there are several places around. A great little find

The guesthouse is just 5 minutes walk from subway station and 10 minutes walk from Parthenon entrance. We liked location a lot - almost in the center, but very quiet because it is in a dead end with almost no traffic at all. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Next time in Athens we'll definetly stay in Marble House again.

Marble House in Athens is a great little hotel hidden in the city centre in the proximity of some of the most important attractions. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and have great advice for good restaurants and bars in the vicinity.
The rooms were very clean and provided for everything we needed - the balcony was excellent and far more spacious than we had expected in an inner-city hotel; great to hang out and enjoy the later evening.
All in all I can highly recommend the hotel and will make sure to come back, when visiting friends and family in Greece.
Enjoy!

A family medical emergency forced us to cancel our trip to Greece four days before departure. Every airline and accommodation provider contacted transferred my booking until May 2023, except marble house. They forfeited the entire cost of the booking, would not even consider my request. There only offering was that if I booked with them again they would give me a discount. The room cancelled was easily re-let so they made excessive profits from my tradgedy and were deeply unpleasant to deal with

Responded 14 Sept 2022
Dear Cora, Firstly, your review does not represent an accommodation experience with our hotel rather than an incident that is neither our hotel’s fault nor under the hotel’s control. To avoid any inaccuracies the facts were the following: You booked with us a double room for 3 nights, 3 months in advance with a nonrefundable reservation. Two days prior to your arrival you requested a full refund which clearly does not fall in booking’s policies. Although we kindly explained that a full refund is not possible, we offered you a 50% off in your next booking with our hotel. However, you insisted rather impolitely on the grounds that it would be easy for us to offer the room back into the site to re-rent, which is definitely not the case. After several e-mail exchanges, you resorted to threatening us with a negative TripAdvisor review. We fully respect and understand your situation, we are also very flexible with direct to the hotel reservations and we believe that 50% discount on your next visit is fair and allies with the majority of hotel policies. We wish to you and your family full recovery. Kind regards, Christos Hotel Mgr/Owner

They asked me to pay with cash and I did. I did not explore the possibility of paying with a card because many people who run places to stay asked if I would pay with cash.
Like Nick said (who is great by the way). Acropolis and Plaka is 10-15 minute walk. We took a taxi from Rafina to ATH to get my kids and then from ATH to marble house. Taxi knew right where it was and dropped us off at the front door. I paid €55 for that leg. Nick arranged a nice taxi ride for us very early in the morning to go back to ATH. Taxi was waiting for us when we walked out the door.
Dear Anna,
Thank you for your message. Kindly note that we do not provide any private parking in our establishment, however, our location is privileged since we are at the end of a small alley (dead-end street) and the majority of our guests can park their car within our street free of charge and safe.
Additionally, we can definitely recommend to you paid private parking facilities just one block further from Marble House.
Kind regards,
Christos Nikoloulias

Dear Kumar,
Thank you for your message. We are pretty sure that during the month of April you don't need A/C since is still spring in Athens. However, in case the weather is hot we can definitely provide A/C in your room with an small additional fee.
Kind regards,
Christos Nikoloulias
