Well this hotel was a bit of a shock. Firstly it was really easy to reach using the Athens metro from the airport then it was just a five minute walk. The hotel is situated in the best place possible to visit all the ancient sites in Athens we were able to walk to all of them. The hotel itself...

Location is good, walking distance to everywhere. Lots of restaurants and shops just behind the hotel. Depending on rooms they can be rather small and a bit of tired looking but essentials are there. Stuff was friendly and helpful.

That was my husband's suggestion since I was traveling alone.... And he was right. It was close to the meeting point for the walking tour and (needless to say) in Plaka. Got an incredible room (206 with the back of Acropolis view) BUT internet doesn't work properly in the room. Had to stay sitting at the stairs close to the...

Really good location in the Plaka. Basic and clean. Easy walk to acropolis and other sites. Great restaurants nearby. Our room was quite dark and on the ground floor next to the road. Avoid room 100. Also, staff were abrupt. We didn't find them welcoming.

This is a small hotel in the Plaka area very close to most pedestrian areas in Athens. Quiet area, close to a private car park. Rooms are rather small but OK for a short stay. Wifi rather intermittent. Helpful staff. Great view from roof garden. Recommended

Location, location, location. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room while simple was clean and well kept with a balcony . There is a communal rooftop for cooling off in the evening and savoring the view of the Acropolis.

The hotel is located in a walking distance from all major attractions. The rooms are clean and the staff is nice. To have the room with the view of the Acropolis we had to add additional € 15 per night at the hotel (booked the hotel through Expedia). However, it was worth the experience looking at Acropolis at night from...

The best part of this hotel is the location. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the Acropolis. Our room was basic, but clean. We paid more for an "Acropolis view" with a balcony, but didn't see much but the back of the Acropolis wall. The WiFi worked 50% of the time, at best. If you're looking for a well...

Ideally located for a quick visit to the Plaka and other must do Athens sights. 4th visit to Athens and is a short walk to everything. Rooms adequate, bathrooms rudimentary but clean and well priced. Negatives were terrible wi fi and ridiculously priced coffee that was distinctly average. Suited our purposes

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
