Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a modern, comfortable hotel, within walking distance to a number of museums. archaeological sites and good restaurants. The flip side to this is that it can be prone to street noise (especially the 'little drummer boys' who busk the central Athens streets late at night). The room and bathrooms are spacious, and some suites even have views of the Acropolis. The breakfast is good and we found the staff courteous and professional.

Room Tip: We stayed three times, and we found the sixth floor the most comfortable. If you're a couple....

We can’t praise the staff at the Amazon Hotel enough. They were helpful, friendly and they responded to any requests that we may have had within minutes. 5 stars for service. We had a lovely Studio room with a small balcony looking at the Acropolis. Quiet and well appointed. Breakfast offered plenty of variety and was more than adequate. The location of the hotel is central to all the main attractions, shopping and restaurants. Everything was a comfortable walk (even in the heat of an Athens summer). It seems that attractions were built around the Amazon Hotel. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

My second visit to Athens, this hotel was in a perfect location near everything we wanted to visit. Breakfast was good, staff were amazing and the hotel was very secure after a certain time the automatic doors locked and you could only get in with your key card. We booked the junior suite with the acropolis view it did not disappoint. They had shutters on the doors and windows so the sun didn’t hit you first thing in the morning. The cleaners was amazing they had been cleaning our room twice a day so we left them at tip at end of our visit. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city

Amazon Hotel is perfectly located near the Parliament and the Plaka District. The accommodations are clean, crisp and very modern. The breakfast is delicious and served between 7-10:30am. The bathroom is separate from the sink area so it worked best if two were getting ready in the morning at the same time. Amazon is right across the street from our favorite restaurant, Ella. We will stay again for sure.

I had an amazing experience here! The hotel itself is very clean and organized with incredible staff. The hotel has a great location in the city centre with tons of food options nearby and everything within walking distance. Will definitely be back again.

It is located in the hearth of the city and close to many restaurants, shops and archeological sites. It is pretty basic basic, but has more-less everything you need for short stay and clean. My room was o decent size with comfortable bed with bathroom on rather smallish side. There was a kettle and safe box in the room. The breakfast was nice, variety of dishes, with some nice local options. The staff was professional and nice.

We stayed in the Junior Suite with Acropolis view at the end of April into the beginning of May for 4 nights. We found our stay quite disappointing. Our first issue that we encountered was simply a lack of cupboards/drawers/wardrobes in the room - there was simply nowhere to store our items other than a single rail (where half the hangers are impossible to remove) and a single drawer. There is one cupboard near the TV, but it was only 3 inches deep, so only really suitable for jewellery or sunglasses. There were 2 drawers, but one contained the safe, so again, only really 1 drawer to store things in. I found this really odd and quite annoying to have to pile my clothes up on the floor or keep them in my suitcase. The second issue was the air conditioning. This is apparently controlled centrally and was going to be turned on on 2nd May. This is mentioned nowhere on the hotels own website or Jet2. It was a rather humid 20 plus degrees, so air con would've been appreciated. The staff didn't really seem to care about this, couldn't provide a date for the turn on and also couldn't provide a fan to help us sleep. The air con did get turned on in May, but we did have to endure a few hot nights sleep... The view from the room was of the Acropolis, but not from the balcony - it was mostly obscured by another building. The room was also overlooked a busy rooftop bar, so we felt we couldn't even enjoy the view from the window as we always had the blinds down for a bit of privacy. Breakfast was quite disappointing - to the point where we didn't bother for the last 2 mornings and instead chose to buy from the many local cafes nearby. There wasn't a great selection. The hot offerings where incredibly limited and the cold selection left a lot to be desired. I had seen that others enjoyed the breakfast, so perhaps this was just personal taste. The final issue came on our last evening, where we were informed that there was to be a power cut the next morning as we were checking out. We therefore had to pack our suitcases early and bring them down in the lift the night before. We also had a very disconcerting conversation with reception staff about whether this power cut would affect trains to the airport, where the outcome seemed to be "it's probably fine". However, no power cut ever materialised. I know this probably isn't up to the hotel, but it was frustrating to have to quickly change our plans/schedule around something that didn't happen. I also got the impression from the staff when we questioned it that "it's been a public message" like we, as tourists, should've known in advance? However, there are some positives. The location is great, easy to get to Syntagma Square and walking distance to everything else you might want - Monstraki, Plaka, Acropolis etc. I cannot fault how clean everything was and enjoyed the easy to use and very clear "Do not disturb" display. The blinds were good for keeping the sun out - both from heat and light - although the housekeeping staff consistently raised it every day meaning that our room was always hot when we came back to it. Overall, I probably would come back, but perhaps book a cheaper room and not bother with paying for breakfast, if that's an option. I reckon there are loads of better hotels in the same location....I get the impression that this hotel is better suited to business guests, or guests staying for only a couple of nights.

A very good economic solution for the center of Athens. It is located 200 meters from Syntagma Square in a very practical neighborhood without the hustle and bustle of the center. Nice breakfast buffet, rooms are small but comfortable. Recommended for short periods.

Basic hotel but very clean and located in. Great central spot. We were only there one day night while waiting for the ferry. I wouldn’t wan to stay for more than a few days, but it’s the perfect junking off point! The staff was incredibly helpful with suggestions and proving me with common Greek sayings
