Travellers' Choice
In the heart of Athens, between the Acropolis and Monastiraki, a breath away from Constitution or Syntagma Square and Plaka, in a quiet alley of 100 meters, raises with its distinct color a small hotel. Sweet Home Hotel, combines beauty and endless luxury, care and relaxation with top quality services. An old building with many neoclassical elements, which was lovingly renovated by its current owners, given particular emphasis on decoration and turned into a boutique hotel. Sweet home ... a place that travels you.. Geraniums and cyclamens in balconies, marbles and tiles, a 100-year-old wooden staircase with handcrafted details, neoclassical plasterwork- all heritage of old Athens- are kept there to connect us with the old city and its past, along with a collection of old mirrors, gramophones, cameras and other antiques.

We stayed at a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Athens. Minutes walk from anywhere. Comfortable and very clean rooms, rich and fresh breakfast, the owner of the hotel, Afroditiy, gave us personal treatment and booked for us restaurants and taverns. We will definitely recommend the “sweet home” hotel and are already waiting to return to Athens and stay at this hotel again

We've been visiting the hotel for many years as we always feel cozy, friendly, safe, quiet, sweet but never boring. it's clean, comfortable, at a great location downtown, a lot of things to see and do around. We once again recommend it.

Beautifully decorated hotel in Acropolis neighborhood. Spacious rooms, high ceilings, fridge and tea kettle in room, super comfy beds. Extensive breakfast buffet. Very helpful front desk staff. Very clean. A/C. Elevator. Between Syntagma Square and Acropolis. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Many gardens and plakas to enjoy. Lovely Aphrodite and her Mom run this boutique hotel and make the goodies for breakfast.

We stayed in the Sweet Home Hotel on April 13 and April 14. The hotel has the ambience of an old hotel, but with modern amenities. The rooms are spacious, well lit, airy, and very clean. The heating and air conditioning system works very well. The obvious renovation is the bathroom. It is modern, well designed, and very functional. In addition to the intrinsic features of the Hotel, it is located just below the Acropolis in an old part of Athens. The neighborhood is good, loaded with small alleys and small shops, all within easy walking distance. If you are a connoisseur of boutique hotels, as are we, you will love the Sweet Home Hotel.

We have recently stayed at the hotel- a family of four. We stayed at a double room with a sweet balcony. The staff was amazing, helpful and kind. The location is great, in the middle of everything and just a few steps from every location we wanted to see. We have celebrated birthday and the lovely hotel owner have arranged the perfect decoration and a great cake (we paid in advanced but is was made amazingly). We truly recommend and obviously we will be back. *don’t miss the Gramophone room downstairs

So nice boutique hotel near everything in the heart of Plaka. We walked to the Acropol, national garden, Panathenaic Stadium, Syntaga and Monastiraki. The hotel was great, clean and cozy. The beds and pillows were excellent. Breakfast was very tasty. The nice local, little restaurant on the same street were superb If you like the traditional crecian food.

First lets talk about Covid. We went at level 4 warnings. It's just not that hard. You test in the US and most all paperwork is done in USA. Your ticket says "DOC's OK" meaning the airline already checked that you have your documents. After landing in Jamaica they just sailed us thru as they checked our tickets. It was real easy landing in Jamaica. Plus not crowded. Now Home Sweet Home is our #1 pick and we get around we normally stay in 4 star places but HSH the most peaceful place to relax, swim, snorkel, take walks or have Chris the driver take you sightseeing. Lots of restaurants close where you eat outside day or night. There is a nice restaurant right there but they suggest to tell them what you want in advance. HSH feels safe, looks beautiful and has a really great vibe. About $5 each to get a cab to the beach in 5 minutes. (Look for cars with red plates) Then after the afternoon on the beach back to Home Sweet Home, leaving the hustle of the beach behind you. The fresh sea air really clears your head. Cab drivers all seem to wear masks, everyone is careful. We are careful about Covid. It was lots easier the we expected to travel even with level 4 warnings. Home Sweet Home is the perfect location as it's never over crowded, its clean, its patrolled at night so it feels safe. And its a romantic dream right on the gorgeous Caribbean Sea. One suggestion: bring a blow-up noodle or float device you can pack in suitcase so you can just float in the water... king of the world.
