Travellers' Choice
In the heart of Athens, between the Acropolis and Monastiraki, a breath away from Constitution or Syntagma Square and Plaka, in a quiet alley of 100 meters, raises with its distinct color a small hotel. Sweet Home Hotel, combines beauty and endless luxury, care and relaxation with top quality services. An old building with many neoclassical elements, which was lovingly renovated by its current owners, given particular emphasis on decoration and turned into a boutique hotel. Sweet home ... a place that travels you.. Geraniums and cyclamens in balconies, marbles and tiles, a 100-year-old wooden staircase with handcrafted details, neoclassical plasterwork- all heritage of old Athens- are kept there to connect us with the old city and its past, along with a collection of old mirrors, gramophones, cameras and other antiques.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was not our first choice hotel (based on web searching etc) but as the first hotel was booked, we chose Sweet Home Hotel instead. We are so happy we did as we could not have had a better stay. It really was a home from home and, without exception, the staff went above and beyond to help us in every possible way. Each and every person should be very proud of the customer care they delivered along with Afroditi who made sure we even had a packed breakfast because we had to get a very early flight and had to check out before breakfast started. When we come back to Athens again we will stay again.

We stayed at a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Athens. Minutes walk from anywhere. Comfortable and very clean rooms, rich and fresh breakfast, the owner of the hotel, Afroditiy, gave us personal treatment and booked for us restaurants and taverns. We will definitely recommend the “sweet home” hotel and are already waiting to return to Athens and stay at this hotel again

This was truly a beautiful hotel and the management and staff made you feel like you were a guest in their own home. Every morning you wake up to a bountiful breakfast. The location is amazing and you are close to everything. When you come back after a day of sight seeing, they have cold water, juice and even a little homemade liqueur served in cute little glasses you can sip! The rooms are really cozy and we had a room where we could see the Acropolis. There is also a really cool phonograph museum downstairs. All in all, Sweet Home is a must-stay!

It’s a good name for an excellent hotel. It’s so well placed near the two main squares, metro links and the Acropolis. Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Breakfast changed slightly each day with scrumptious home made items. The orange cake was particularly memorable. Our room wasn’t huge but was fine. We had an inward facing balcony which was a bit of a non entity. When we arrived the room had a slight sewage smell, but these slight negatives could not make me give less than 5 stars.

The hotel is charming, period. The location is great, period. There is nothing I can say that adds to these key features. Still, since the system insists on more, I'd recommend two places that are 10-30 meters away: The rooftop of Ergon House, and a simple restirant on top of the current street.

This is a very pleasant place to stay, with excellent helpful staff and an ideal location from which to explore central Athens, where most attractions are within easy walking distance. The breakfasts are good and the staff gave good nearby restaurant recommendations.

Sweet Home is perfectly located in the city center. Restaurants and sights all close by. Easy walking distance to Symtgmata Square, shopping, Acropolis and much more. The staff was amazing and the facility itself is beautiful. A home converted into a hotel, makes you feel right at home. Breakfast was fresh everyday with fresh local bread delivered every morning ! The staff went out of their way to assist with transfers to the port and airport, they made It beyond easy. If u are ever in Athens give this sweet boutique hotel a try you will not be disappointed.

I booked this hotel via my credit card for 2 adults and 2 children but when we got there they were not expecting the children. It all worked out as we booked the penthouse apartment which could accommodate us. Reception was helpful. Breakfast was perfect. Very welcoming. It was located in the perfect location walking distance from the Acropolis. Thank you Sweet Home for an amazing stay!

This place was the best hotel I have ever stayed. The name sweet home fits perfectly, it magical it’s a smaller hotel so it has a really cosy vibe. It in walking distance to everything in the city. The breakfast is really delicious so I would absolutely recommend it to eat there, it’s the best was to start your morning if you have breakfast there, even the dinning area is beautiful. And everyone is really nice and they will help you wherever they can. Our flight was late in the evening and they even let us leave our baggage in the hotel so we won’t need to take the suitcases with us while walking in the city. The whole place has a wonderful feeling. The only negative thing about the hotel was that it was a bit noisy, you could hear if someone was walking above you. Still it was really nice 🥰✨

We stayed at Sweet Home hotel for 2 nights pre cruise. From the time we booked we knew it would be a great stay, lovely welcome message with directions on how to find the hotel and a pre arrival check to see what time we would arrive . Upon arrival checked in but the lovely Afrodite and welcome drink. Room -basic double- room 205 plenty big enough for us with lovely high ceiling great AC and a very comfy bed. The little touches like toiletries, amenities and slippers make staying in a small indepent and aren't always the same in the big chain hotels. I also loved how the old features of the building in the staircases have been restored and keep the charm of the building. The gramophone museum in the basement is also worth a visit! It was close enough to everything, yet no noise at all as on a little side street! All of the staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast way exceeded our expectations, and on the day we had the early start for Acropolis visit Afrodite insisted we take coffee and pastries, even though breakfast wasn't yet open ! This is a gem of a hotel located in Plaka and we will definitely make this our go to for when we are next visiting Athens. Thank you for a fabulous stay!
