In the heart of Athens, between the Acropolis and Monastiraki, a breath away from Constitution or Syntagma Square and Plaka, in a quiet alley of 100 meters, raises with its distinct color a small hotel. Sweet home hotel, combines beauty and endless luxury, care and relaxation with top quality services. An old building with many neoclassical elements, which was lovingly renovated by its current owners, and with particular emphasis on decoration, turned into a boutique hotel room. Sweet home ... a place that travels you.. Geraniums and cyclamens in Plakiotica balconies, marbles and tiles, a wooden staircase 100 years old with handcrafted details, neoclassical plasterwork, all heritage of old Athens, kept there to connect us to the old city and its past, along with a collection of old mirrors, gramophone, cameras and other antiques.

Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Well, when you're searching for where to stay in Athens you expect to find a hotel named after a Greek God or an old philosopher. Normally I would avoid a place named "Sweet Home Hotel" as it sounds so corny, but this one seemed to be perfectly situated and had received good

Dear MosseTurku, I am so glad to hear that you had a wonderful stay in our hotel, especially since you had second thoughts at the beginning due to its name. But please note that it was given because this building used to be the home of a family and in fact the ex-owner, a sweet lady which has left the house 60 years ago as a bride, has onlly nice and sweet memories of it. We could not think anything else than this name. Thank you for your nice words concerning the hotel, your room, the breakfast and our staff as well. We are terribly sorry for your unfortunate incident of getting robbed in the metro but we are glad we have helped you the best way we could. Hope to visit us again soon and let us make you a small tour in our gramophone museum along with some interesting information about the exhibits. Kind regards, Afroditi Armata Managing Director
