As some of the other reviewers said, this place is nice and clean, linens are quality and the air conditioning is good. Showers are awesome and the rooftop pool, while cold, is very refreshing. You can see the Parthenon from the deck too. The breakfast is very good and the rooftop bar has good food and drinks at reasonable prices....

The Fresh Hotel Athens was a saviour to me in that i thought i booked a reservation at the Hotel but, upon arriving, found that it was not confirmed. Luckily, the kind staff gave me the last available room but it "doesn't have a balcony." Since i was there for only one night, it didn't really matter. When i left...

Good service in this hotel, clean and good breakfast. Central and very convenient for tourist visit. On the other hand it's a bit pretentious (swimmig pool for pictures only) and expensive for Greece. We found the rooms we had without charm (small, dark) and think the hotel need some renovation to maintain the level it pretents to have (bathroom are...

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. This is a great little hotel and once inside you feel a million miles away from the world below. The rooms are small but well styled and have some great flashes of colour and interesting lighting that really adds to the minimalist style. You can't comment on this hotel without...

We stayed at the Fresh Hotel for 3 nights for a wedding and sightseeing. I booked because of the rooftop pool and acropolis views, and in part for the out of Plaka location as I feared it being too touristy. We arrived at 2.30am - the hotel arranged a taxi pick up which went smoothly. Check in was fine. The...

We stayed for 4 nights and upgraded to an Executive room which was well worth the additional 55 Euros per night. Room 807 is the only room in the hotel with a substantial open-air deck, and this really made our stay exceptional. As the receptionist said, it's the best room in the hotel, and even better than the suites. Previous...

Really glad we booked this hotel. It only took us a day to get our bearings in Athens and I like the main street where the hotel is. The backs streets are a little run down, but if you keep to the main street you will feel fine. The staff were great, the view from the balcony bar was amazing...

Had a great stay at the Fresh Hotel with our 2 kids (age 7 & 3), my parents & sister. The hotel has a great rooftop pool and lounge/bar area, with a nice plants and sofas and a good view of the acropolis. Beware the drinks are extremely expensive however ($18 for a pina colada!!!). The rooms and bathrooms are...

I stayed here for a brief tour of Athens and the Acropolis. I loved it! Those that say it's in a bad area probably have not lived in international cities before? Pretty much all of Athens is like this. I kind of enjoyed being next to a Brothel, I thought it was charming. This hotel is designed for the young...

I feel that it is important that I emphasize exactly how bad an area this hotel is in. We turned the wrong way out of the hotel and within a few minutes had witnessed a drug deal and were approached different men making lude gestures. Later that night there were prostitutes touting for business almost directly outside the hotel and...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
