The location of the hotel was perfect, as it was central to all the main sights. We stayed in a classic room with a king bed and kitchenette. The room was comfortable and updated. The kitchenette was a nice bonus. As we stayed multiple nights, to come back and enjoy wine and some snacks. The staff was friendly and the...

..... and loving it. The service is very personal and friendly. The hotel is very clean and the location is amazing. This is the second time we booked the suit as the full length roof terrace is addictive.... we will for sure be back :)

No need to look farther. The location is perfect...just a little off the Plaka's busiest walkway. Close to the old stadium and the acropolis. Beautifully appointed room, including a gorgeous bathroom. A small kitchen. Marvelous staff!!!!! PERFECTION!!! And when we were stuck for an extra 6 hours in Istanbul, I quickly emailed the hotel telling them. It was already rather...

The hotel has a great location between Hadrian’s Arch and The Acropolis in the Platka district. It was quiet inside despite being quite busy outside. The rooms in large cities tend to be small, but this one was spacious, clean and comfortable. The suite included a couch, kitchenette area and a good sized modern bath. The staff was extremely helpful...

My husband and I had stayed in a Regular Suite in 2011 and were quite impressed with the room etc so this time we booked one night in a Regular Suite early in our tour and four nights in an Executive Suite at the end of our Greek trip. The Regular Suite we were allocated was even better than I...

We have stayed at Ava many times and go back because of it's location and we feel comfortable and safe there. On several occasions, we have arrived early, because of transportation scheduling and they have been great about locking up our bags and valuables so we can spend time in Athens. When we come back to the hotel, our bags...

We chose this hotel in particular for its location and for the kitchenettes (all rooms have one). On those two grounds, it scored well. The disappointing aspect was the breakfast which really is not “four star” standard. The hotel’s location is excellent – a few metres from Hadrian’s Gate and hence five minutes walk from the heart of the Plaka,...

For comfort and convenience, this was an excellent place to stay. The staff were professional and courteous and spoke good English. This hotel is located in downtown Platka so you can walk almost anywhere. Local people were friendly and food was great.

I have booked the hotel "site unseen" on internet. I was concerned about the accessibility for disabled guest so I booked the larger room (I think it was called the "executive suite"). It turned out that it was a VERY larg room (actually: two rooms: a "day" room and a bedroom). Large bathroom and a kitchenette corner with all the...

The grounds and accommodations at the hotel are fine and the staff is incredibly courteous. The hotel itself is also located perfectly in the Plaka, just steps from the Acropolis. All that said, however, the hotel had significant construction at the time we visited beginning early in the morning and ending late in the evening, including in the room right...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
