We spent the night before a cruise at the Pan Hotel. The price was fantastic. It is a totally non-smoking property which can be hard to find. The staff were extremely helpful, great location, close to everything. Clean, simple room with comfy beds. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good value.

This hotel is in a very safe and central location. The rooms are comfortable, nothing fancy but if you're spending lots of time in your room in Athens you're doing something wrong. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. If we make it back to Athens we'll definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very central, a 2 minute walk to Syntagma square, where you can get a bus or metro to the airport and within walking distance to the main attractions and restaurants and bars. It is also reasonably priced. The room was ok, slightly dated but didn't spend too much time there as was enjoying this great city. When...

The rooms a not the most updated, but they are decent sized and comfortable. The included breakfast is pretty good, several options and good coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part is the location. Walking distance from most everything and close to a subway stop. A great value considering the location.

The Pan Hotel is a nice, family owned hotel in a central, walkable location in Athens. Bus or cruise optional day trip departures are only a block away. Chris and Spiro, staff members, are congenial and most helpful employees who go out of their way to help you in any way possible. The morning breakfast is decent and quite good....

We stayed for 4-nights and were given a very small room on the 8th floor which was much too close to the elevator housing. Each time the elevator started up we’d hear the clunk, roar, clunk until it got back to the reception floor. Thankfully, we didn’t spend a lot of time in our room as the location was brilliant,...

Small and not very good rooms but cleaning every day. The hotel has very good position (mitropoleos, syntagma). You have to ask for double bed. Some problems with the hot water. Noisy street the morning.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
