I stayed at the Victory Inn in for 5 days in April 2023as a solo traveller. The hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room service was excellent - it was good to be able to have a cup of tea or a beer after a hard day's sightseeing. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Victoria metro station and once I had got my bearings it was easy to find. When I first arrived it was 11 at night and a taxi from the metro was only 5 euros. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good value accommodation in Athens.

Stayed here in Aug 2022

Thank you Peter and George for being so friendly!

I was looking for a budget friendly since I needed a 5-night stay

Room was exactly what I needed - comfortable bed, clean, quiet, good showers, windows that opened (wishing there was a screen but it's OK)

Nearby is a delicious gyros placed that I visited twice, along with a brunch/pancake spot that I drool about even 'til this day

Highly recommend!!

I communicated with the staff via email 1st to check if possible to store our bags for a few days while we explore other Greek Islands before making our way back to the hotel. They allowed baggage storage and was fast in their email communications. Hotel was about 10 mins walk from the Victoria metro station. Along the way, there are many shops and cafes, making it a very pleasant walk. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Hotel has a lift and was able to provide kettle and cups upon request. It was a good sized room, was spacious and clean same as the bathroom. Wifi was strong and the heater was nice and warm. We enjoyed our stay and it is around 25 mins walk to the tourist sites or you may take the metro few stops down.

All the staff very friendly & helpful. Even though the hotel is a little aged, it’s probably the cleanest one i’ve ever stayed in. Room was comfortable & spacious. Close to bus stops, shops, & places to eat. A ~10 minute walk give or take to a metro station & the national archeological museum. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice and welcoming hotel just a few minutes walking from Victoria metro station. Very friendly and helpful front desk😊.
The room itself was clean, quiet (facing the courtyard) and the AC worked well. 2 drawbacks for me are the mirrors everywhere in the room (almost on each wall) and a small fridge didn’t work. I didn’t take breakfast at the hotel as there are a lot of small cafes just around the corner.
And St. George's square was a real find! Authentic, delicious and cheap meals at the sunset.

An economical stay while in Athens. Rooms are clean and adequate. Showers are a bit of a challenge. Most desk clerks were very helpful. Older gentleman that worked the afternoon desk did not wish to call a taxi for me and said to find one outside. It took 25 minutes, so that was a negative. Morning clerk was very helpful. Not a bad place to stay when traveling solo or on a tight budget.

Loved the balcony view. Easy commute to Scenic areas of Athens and air port. Easy booking and check in. Not a high end hotel but great for the price.

Here is the most important thing you need to know about this hotel: They are very likely to be using some rooms on third floor for strange purposes (or guests). If you are on that floor, your stay will be a torture session. Do you consider yourself unlucky for "some reasons" ? Then do not even think about staying at this hotel, they will give you the third floor.

During the check-in, I asked a non-smoking room, as I also picked that option while booking the room. The receptionist's mimics showed that she hated that request and our "journey" had started. We got to the room, left our luggage and went to the city. We came back very late and had to walk on an unsafe street to reach the hotel. We laid down and realized that the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I literally considered sleeping on the floor rather than the bed.

During our first night, around 4 A.M. (!!!) we were woken up by our neighbors, they were shouting to each other. It lasted until 5 A.M. I have talked to the receptionist twice! They said the person has just came in and they will take care. They did not. Next morning, I went to the reception before the check in time and asked them to change my room. Yesterday's receptionist was there. She treated me as if I am trying to take advantage of the situation. She told me that the person had already checked out and there is no reason to change our room. I said fine and warned her if this continues they have to change my room. She just laughed.

During our second night, around 2 A.M. this time. A couple had mistakenly tried to open our room's door. They said sorry and went to the next door neighboring room (same problematic room with the previous night). They were very loud until 3 A.M.

Our last night, we need to leave the hotel around 4 A.M. to catch our flight. We went to bed early. The "human being" in the same neighboring room was singing stupid songs with a very high volume from 1 A.M. until 4 A.M. We could not sleep at all. The hotel management? Well, let's just do not even talk about them.

According to the reception, there were different people in all those three days. Was this a coincidence? I doubt it.

Here is the source of all the problems: Their staff is extremely impolite. They may treat you as if you are a free-rider rather than a customer. If you still want to book this hotel, please keep in mind that the neighborhood will not feel safe when it is dark.

I am very curious for the hotel's answer to this comment. I am sure they will be far more responsive than they used to be!

I was visiting family in central Athens and was looking for a hotel near the family and convenient to public transportation. The Victory-Inn is an oasis in the rather gritty neighborhood of Kypseli in central Athens. The room was amazingly large by european standards, extremely clean, and the staff could not have been nicer. I appreciated the room's amenities (bathrobe, toiletries)too. The hotel has heating and a/c.

I used to live in the is neighborhood and am very familiar with it. The metro station is about a 10-minute walk. If you have luggage and you exit at Victoria Square, you can take a taxi to the Victory-Inn for a cost of about 5 euros (including the extra charge for luggage)-- definitely the way to go.

The only negative is the spotty free wi-fi-- but hey, it's free. The prices are extremely reasonable and this hotel is a great value in central Athens. I am already making plans to come back on my next visit to the family!

Hi, we didn't see any parking for this hotel, but we don't drive so didn't need to ask - try asking them directly - best regards.

We got a taxi from the airport straight to the door of the hotel - very quick and convenient - it is a flat fee of approx. 40.00 Euros so very good value, especially with suitcases etc.... again, check with the hotel directly or make your own way from the airport... best regards

Check online before you go, there are loads of places to eat in the locality - we found many places, especially for me as I'm vegetarian (but my boyfriend isn't) we found loads of places that catered for both of us, no problem... best regards.
