Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was really very impressed and satisfied with the three nights I spent at the Hotel Vienna, whilst visiting Athens at the end of August 2022… It’s centrally located (close to Acropolis, Sindagma, Monisteraki, Plaka et al) just off Omonia Square and the main Metro Line… My standard double room was specious and extremely clean with comfortable bedding and aircon. The management and staff - especially the gentleman who does night shift at reception are welcoming and hospitable helpful and friendly- it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The price I found very reasonable too!

The hotel staff is completely incompetent. There is discrimination based on nationality, which is unacceptable in the work of hoteliers. Everyone just needs to ignore this hotel! Worst place I've ever traveled.

This was not my most successful trip ever, starting 30 min before boarding and finding out that your free place to stay is no longer available. So I hopped on my phone and searched convenient areas, i.e. those by some record stores I knew about, and this one popped up at a very good price. The people working the front desk were nice (kind of a small nowhere entry tho), someone is there all nite so you can leave your key at the front desk. I was offered which side of the building I wanted to be on. I should have taken a look at the side rooms because the one on the street was SOOO noisy, esp. on Fri/Sat. And it's not like you've got a great view or anything, so prob best to stay in another part. The room was a decent size, bathroom was fine, firm bed which I like (once I got an extra pillow), fridge kept things cold, small TV was ok. Very close to the subway and the Exarchia part of town with lots of bars, etc. If I didn't get twisted around as I often did in Athens, a short walk to Monastiraki Sq. No frills but that's fine.

Due to flight complications my company booked me into the Vienna Hotel and even though I arrived very late the staff were amazing. The Night Reception Manager made me feel very at ease and welcome and really represents the Hotel very well. The Hotel room is simply furnished yet very clean and my room very quiet. Location wise also very close to the tourist attractions and metro line. Would highly recommend staying here.

We went to Athens for a visit as a family and we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The staffs were very friendly and very helpful especially one staff gentleman (don't know his name) but he was very funny, made us laugh a lot and was very helpful. Very clean hotel and would highly recommend for stay. WIFI is very fast and it is right in the city centre. They let us leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out so we can go around the city for our last stroll hands-free which was really nice of them. The only thing I would say is there could have eggs for breakfast as we as a family love eggs but nonetheless, 5 stars for the service and the hotel. Thank you very much for the staff.

Nice and clean hotel with gentle staff. I visit it very often for many years now for business or leisure. It is in the center of the city. Metro station is very near and all the attractions can be reached by walking or transportation.

This was a very last minute booking as we had 3 days to spare in Athens for shopping and attractions but was really disappointed. The hotel is tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. We were booked into a twin room. The bathroom was extremely small and in my opinion shower curtains should be banned from hotels. The staff was doing what they were suppose to do but definitely not over enthusiastic or friendly. Even though you can see Omonoia square from the hotel, which makes getting around very easy, the neighbourhood is dirty, noisy and not tourist friendly.

Dear Lizelle, We are so dissapointed for this review. We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, but believe us, we try very hard and it's so rude to use these words. Of course, we know that our hotel should be renovated. It is so easy to say it and at the same time so difficult and complicated to be done. Of course, all our efforts are on this way and we try to improve our hotel year by year, working by our own, as a family run business, facing so many difficulties. We will continue to be proud for the kindness of our staff, it can be proved from our guests for more than 30 years so far. If you did not like our hotel, that would be totally respected! Make your recommendations kindly and we will definately take them seriously. Please, be more polite in your future reviews against people who try hard to improve their business, no matter the difficulties they are facing, or you could possibly choose a double price hotel, in order to fit to your standards. Despite these, you will always be welcome in our hotel! Kind regards
