We booked a 1 night stay in this hotel very last minute because we had to catch a ferry early the next morning. It is located a 5 minute walk from the port so it is especially great to stay here if you have an early ferry. The room was clean but rather small (this didn’t bother us). The staff was very friendly and helped us out with some documents we still had to print to board the ferry the next morning. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can’t say how it is.
We arrived in Athens late at night so we had this place recommend by an old friend as a good place to stay overnight to recharge our batteries for our on going boat ride to Spetses the next day. The welcome was extremely warm & friendly, the location was perfect & the room was just what we needed for an overnight stay. It had all the required amenities, fridge, clean bathroom etc, just perfect. The guy on reception was helpful and pointed out some nearby places to eat that would still be open. We really couldn't fault the place at all. It was very reasonable too & just round the corner from the port of Piraeus. Will definitely stay here again, thank you Hotel Triton.
The positive: - A bit less than 10 mins walk from the port, convenient for boats on the evening or morning. - Bed quite comfy The negative: - Very small room and bathroom, we could barely take a shower. - Very noisy, although the staff picked this room because it was quiet (I can’t even imagine the other rooms): cars on the road, party in the pub next door in the evening, and market on the morning - It was our honey moon and we had no little attentions (except a cushion on the bed with a heart shape). This is not affecting the rate, but just saying that it would be easy to do a little something (a friendly welcome/note in the room, chocolate/biscuits/little bottle...)
The hotel has a central location in Piraeus, close to some good taverns, and not far from the main gates at the port, although we still needed a taxi for the short distance due to big suitcases, not suitable for pulling on bad, uneven sidewalks. We were given a room on the 5th floor, where it was quiet at night and with the comfortable mattresses we had a good sleep on the two nights we stayed here. The room though was too small for two persons with luggage, which could almost not be stored anywhere. Positive was the balcony with a table and two chairs. The bathroom again was on the very small side with on top some weak, bad mixing water pressure in the shower. There were toiletries, combined shampoo/shower gel by 'Artisti Italiani' (made in China). We were informed by the reception, which during our stay was neither especially friendly or unfriendly, just doing their job, that breakfast has to be fetched in form of a bag on the 1st floor to be eaten in the room. This as of 5.30am already, which is very positive, since most ferries leave at an early hour. In the bag were a banana, fruit juice, biscuits, a boiled egg with extra salt and pepper, a cheese and ham sandwich plus butter, honey, chocolate cream and jam, which made no sense at all. We had to go and eat this, while sitting on the bed, together with a cup of coffee or tea, that had been given separately. This was definitely not the best corona-solution we found during our stay at several hotels in Greece in this period. Unlike other hotels we were not informed about room service. Due to the pandemics again it was obviously not included, but we were not given any options as in all our other hotels during this period, so not even the breakfast leftovers were taken away.…
The Hotel is close to the habour, Bus transfer to Airport and also to good restaurants or Food. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, a good stay at the start and the end of our vacation. Dont forget to try the coffee.
