We came back last week and had the best holiday ever. Our superior double room with its own little pool and fantastic views absolutely made every day special as we jumped in for a bracing swim before breakfast and sunbathed in the mornings. The food was always lovely, the drinks quite acceptable even without the premium package and you couldn't fault the friendliness of all the hotel staff. My only complaint would be that you really don't want a pair of scales in the room on an all inclusive holiday!!! Just seeing them there induced guilt!

Hotel's Favourite
This was our first time in Crete & it deffinately won’t be my last . We had a 3 bedroom villa on the Miramare complex and what a lovely villa it was - plenty big enough & equipped for 4 of us , spotlessly clean & amazing sea views . The town was a 20 min walk & was so worth going into - fabulous shops ( especially the jewellers) , restaurants & scenery - to just sit my there , enjoy a vino & people watch after a very strange time was just amazing . We ate in the hotel on a couple of occasions which was lovely

We arrive late at night and had food waiting for us a nice touch. The hotel has some not so good rooms, one of which we were allocated on our arrival, basic claustrophobic and without any patio doors, poor quality thin mattresses, also the sound of running water through the room when anyone was showering above, we complained and were reallocated a perfectly acceptable room the following morning. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy. Reallocation of rooms in peak season would be an issue I would think. The bar and restaurant staff are friendly and efficient, definitely a positive for the hotel. The pool areas are excellent with loungers and poolside bars available. The breakfast is very good but I would avoid the all inclusive full board deals as the evening meals weren’t the best. Now for the negative, the entertainment was almost none existent in the main hotel bar, with a pianist performing a couple of nights a week, lacked any type of atmosphere. Would I recommend the hotel, yes I would, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Not a place to stay if anyone struggles with their mobility as it it is on a steep incline. But the views from the hotel are amazing.

We told we were to be relocated to Miramare, after finding that our original hotel in the centre of Agios Nikolaos was not opening in April. Although we hadn’t chosen this hotel, we were overall very pleased with our stay. We were offered a one bedroom suite, next to one of the upper pools. Set on a steep hillside, most rooms offer breathtaking views of Mirabello bay. The suite had a separate living room which doubled as a bedroom for our daughter. If you are a couple, I don’t imagine this extra room would be much used. The balcony was vast, with spectacular, unobstructed views. There was a Hot tub which was not included, but we decided to upgrade to use this for half our stay. €70 per day, but definitely worth it. We had a safe in the room & a Kettle included. I think these may be charged as extras in some of the smaller rooms. The hotel staff were all friendly & keen to help, although we found Stacey the Jet2 rep most helpful at sorting bus timetables etc. The restaurant produces good food that changed daily. The main buffet restaurant did however lack atmosphere, but this is similar to most hotel buffet restaurants. My wife and daughter both enjoyed the spa treatments, which they tell me were excellent. The connected indoor pool was small and at €15 for one hour, was probably not worth it. The centre of Agios Nikolaos was about 15-20 minute walk away. The walk was pleasant & I’d definitely recommend making the trip to sit in a taverna by the lake or the sea front. The highlight of our trip was experiencing Greek Easter in Agios Nikolaos. We’d definitely recommend the town procession at about 10pm on Good Friday. The bridge at the lake offers a good vantage point. Also the midnight fireworks around the lake on Easter Saturday. The hotel offered a fantastic celebration on Easter Sunday, with music, dancing and a huge barbecue, including the traditional lamb on a spit. Many Greeks booked in, which added to the great atmosphere. If you get the chance, it is definitely recommended.

We are currently there and staying until May 17th , Hotel, staff are incredibly helpful , the hotel is itself excellent , couple of small issues, a distinct lack of sun parasols at the pool side and we upgraded to another room level ... but to be honest not too sure it's vakue for money to have done so ... but those small matters aside I would not hesitate to come back here .. been so relaxing ... and warm 🤣🤣

We just got back from a fabulous week in this terrific hotel. People say the views are amazing and they are. The location is perfect for a short stroll into Agios Nikolaos, which is lively enough to explore every day and relaxed enough to just stop and people watch. The hotel is designed so it feels like a hill top village. There are lots of steps and you will want to use them to burn off the calories in the restaurant. The food was of a high standard. We did half board for a family of 5 and for a week the selection kept us excited and looking forward to every meal. There was nothing more you could ask for at breakfast – fruits, cereals, continental, cooked eggs, omelettes, yogurts, and who knew breakfast desert was a thing? Waffles, pancakes, donuts . . . . Supper was equally as exciting – at least two different fish and meat dishes, lots of authentic Greek favourites, tons of fresh vegetables, salads, fresh soup and of course something for everyone – pasta and chips! And then there were the deserts . . . so good we ate far too many and ice-cream! This place was a delight – wonderfully hospitable people serving you all the time. Greek hospitality at its best in a hotel with a quiet elegance, smart bar with breath taking view, piano player in the evening – and views utterly breath taking. A great holiday we would fully recommend.

Good points and bad points. I’ll start with the good as unfortunately there are more bad than good. Good points: -The views, absolutely breathtaking, you’ll be hard pressed to find better. -the female manager is lovely as are the guys who drive the buggies - not too far from the town with some great food places Bad points: - the hotel is extremely tired looking throughout with ripped furniture etc - the rooms again are very tired and look more of a 3* standard - the food. By god it’s terrible slop, we went all inclusive purely because it was actually a few pounds cheaper than selecting just b&b which is strange but there we go, thankfully we didn’t pay extra as the food is below prison standard. We tried the restaurant twice out of of 16 day trip and gave up as it was so poor and the restaurant manager was insufferable to the point that even if the food was amazing we would have avoided due to him. The snacks were pathetic, 3 small plastic trays of scraps. This place should not offer all inclusive and unless they change their ways I’d go so far as saying they should not offer food. There is a few restaurants nearby but you will struggle if hills are an issue as the hotel is on a hill so having to go out for each meal does become tiresome. It’s the first holiday we’ve ever had that we were hungry daily and had to hire a car in the end so we could make sure we were fed well. - some of the staff are super grumpy and the manager guy of the main restaurant is nothing short of disgraceful in how he treats the staff and guests, never in my life have I experienced such a rude man at a hotel, he definitely should not work with others. - drinks, have a really funky taste, the soft drinks really hurt your throat and are clearly very lo quality, I understand in all inclusives not to expect branded drinks but I do expect to be able to drink them. Therefor we didn’t even use the drinks with the all inclusive and instead stocked our fridge ourselves. - it’s on a hill which is an issue for mobility, we’re very fit and healthy and even we struggled on a hot day so please be aware of this, if the food & drink was good you’d not need to leave as much but it become an issue and we ended up hiring a car. - the lifts stop working a lot, not well signed and people getting stuck in them daily! All in all I rated 3/5 because I believe it’s more of a 3* hotel, I would have rated lower but the views do merit some credit as they are truly beautiful! Unless you got a cheap deal though the views certainly don’t make up for the bad points! It’s the most disappointed we’ve ever been with a holiday despite us seeing the funny side of how awful it was (by the end of the first week we just had to laugh every time something went wrong) I’d feel terrible for anyone that got caught out here. It needs a serious overhaul to be up to standard. If it was dirt cheap then go for it, if not... AVOID

This hotel is something of a hidden gem, with a vibe that’s far less hectic, very chilled and quiet than the usual hotels. No kids club, karaoke, bingo or towels on sun beds here. After the pandemic and work pressures, these last 2 weeks of October in Miramare provided the down time we needed. This is a really peaceful hotel. Many people just chilling and reading or listening to music on their ear buds but definitely no drama or shenanigans or drunken chavs. The food was amazing (even the staff ate there) and if you love healthy eating you’ll love it here. I see some reviews mention a poor selection but let me reassure you that that’s not the case, (unless you only want to eat pizza and chips that is) Once there you need download the hotels App so you can book hourly gym slots etc. A very special and genuine thank you to the reception manager Jana who looked after me and my family so well. To the 2 Marias’ (Big and Small - their words) and the fabulous Katerina too. Thank you to Ayopizoa too who refreshed our room and made everything tidy each day - what a hard working lovely lady. Thank you to Mr Konstantinormanola and Michalias the Maitre d too. All of the waiters and waitresses too, George, Georgia, Maria. Everyone works so hard and their days are so long. My family had a much needed chilled time here and would recommend the Miramare if a quiet break is what you’re looking for. If you want noisy pool games and drunks singing in the bar with unchecked kids running about then you’ll need to look elsewhere as this is not the way Miramare operates.

Stelina helped me choose a massage and treatment whilst at the hotel. I can jonestly say one of the best massages and treatments had. Stelina worked on my neck shoulders and back leaving me with no crunching sounds at end of massage. My skin following vanilla treatment felt baby soft. Highly recommend charges are on par to other hotels I have stopped at.
