We stayed for 5 nights at this Hotel. From the moment we got there we felt very welcomed. Everyone in the hotel always ready to help you and make your stay memorable.
The rooms are also awesome, very stylish and we had out private terrace with a jacuzzi.
Breakfast is cooked to order freshly and you can either have it in your room or in the restaurant.
The location is just perfect if you want to stay next to the harbor.
Also, since no cars are allowed in this area, highly recommend the public parking (free) which is just a 5 minute walk away.
Last but not least, try the hotel restaurant (Mones) it was the best meal we had in Chania (very different Dakos and tasty octopuss)

Beautiful hotel in a great location in Chania. Parking is difficult in Chania, although there are two lots approximately 750 meters away. We chose to take a taxi on our first night so we wouldn’t have to worry about getting our luggage to the hotel, and rented a car the next day. As you walk in the hotel there is a glass floor where you can see the foundations of this beautiful 16th century structure.

The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful giving us great recommendations on food, things to do, and parking. Breakfast and dinner are served in a beautiful courtyard. Dinner was good, but not great. Also, I would suggest the hotel put wires on the above ledge as pigeons were a problem. The rooms were spotless and very nice. If I return to Crete, I will absolutely stay at this hotel again.

Booked for 2 nights as a treat to end our week in Crete and it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect- we stayed in the deluxe suite which had access to the rooftop with your own private hot tub. Breakfast up on the roof was a perfect start to the morning. The room itself designed to a high spec- we also had a massage at the spa downstairs and was one of the best massages I've ever had.

To top it all off the staff are all lovely and make the stay special- shout out to Mriana and Theodore for the great service. Hope to visit again soon.

we stayed 3 nights here after arriving from the most magical place elsewhere on the island. This was supposed to match it in terms of quality and comfort and style. well it looks great, but sadly thats where the good bit ends.
I was very disappointed. The whole experience was one of style over substance. Outwardly attractive it is. Sleek even. But it lacked heart and felt a bit desperate, like it was aware it was wearing expensive designer clothes but didnt feel comfortable in them and as a result felt awkward.
As for the food, breakfast was included and was ok but portions of everything were meagre, meaning one has to ask for more, which the staff are very happy to give but because of how it is managed it simply causes a certain embarrassment and discomfort.
The teas/coffees and juices were all substandard for a high end hotel and we daily sought out other coffee shops to make up for this lack.
We ate one evening dinner there and it looked great but honestly the main course still makes me feel slightly squirmish to think about it: Squid ink pasta with marmalade.
So, ok I should have known, you might say, as it certainly sounded odd, but I want to trust a chef in a place like this to open my mind about food and help me experience something new and special. It was not special... quite the opposite. It was as bad or worse even than it sounds: sweet and sickly and fishy all at once.
The rooms were elegant but self consciously so.
To be fair, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and I have no complaint about them, but the whole ambience and heart of the place leaves something to be desired im afraid. Im genuinely sorry to have to leave such a disappointing review but I cannot in good conscience say more honestly my experience.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautifully made out, great rooms, Superb location. Restaurant is great too, both for dining and the breakfast. Staff is really something else, super helpful, happy to give suggestions for restaurants and things to do. Can’t recommend enough.

MonEs is a gorgeously designed small hotel in a historic building in Chania's old town. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept. However...

A historical building comes with some disadvantages. The room we had was small, with no closet. The toilet was placed in the shower cabin, so the toilet seat became wet every time you took a shower.

Terrible wifi. I had to use 4G roaming for a business meeting because the stream was unusable on wifi. For some reason, even 4G network quality was pretty bad in that location. The TV has a satellite feed where no channel works and a Netflix app that cannot play any show because of the unreliable Internet connection. It seems that nobody is taking care of the hotel networking infrastructure.

And then, there's the food. We went to breakfast with high expectations, given the stellar reviews and ratings, and we were sorely disappointed. Most of the food is store-bought (only the eggs are cooked in place), and there's the famous pastry basket which only contains mediocre dry pastry that I wouldn't usually care to buy for myself. The "galomyzithra" cheese is an overly repetitive ingredient (multiple breakfast options + one of the dinner menu appetizers).

Despite the unique architecture, fantastic staff, and location, I would not return to this hotel until they raised the quality across the board.

We had a long stay in Chania and picked this hotel to stay the full time we were here. From the very moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Throughout our stay, they assisted us with booking excursions, a massage in the pool/spa area and recommending and booking us into restaurants most nights.

The decor is very modern and chic throughout the hotel with a minimalist style which was very nice. They also have a glass floor in reception where you can see the old ruins which make up part of the building.

Our room was a penthouse room with the jacuzzi on the roof terrace. The rooms were clean, airy and with good facilities such as rainfall shower, robes, hairdryer and small seating area. The roof terrace with the jacuzzi was a great addition to utilise sunnier more relaxed days overlooking Chania Old Town.

Although we didn’t sample the dinner in the Mon Es restaurant at night, we did have one lunch brought to our room which was a club sandwich with chips. It was fantastic and just what we needed after a busy morning exploring Chania!

The breakfasts were great. A complimentary bread basket is provided every morning with a selection of Cretan pastries. You then select from the menu but this is customisable to an extent. One day I fancied just yoghurt and honey and they could provide this easily. The staff waiting on us were fantastic and again showed the best customer service possible.

I couldn’t compliment this hotel enough and really recommend it for others visiting Chania. If we visit again, we would be sure to stay again.

What a lovely little hotel!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they couldn't do enough for us. Facilities were as described on the website, although the pool wasn't open properly due to covid restrictions. Food was fantastic, some of the best breakfasts that we've ever had at a hotel. Even though there was a problem opening our safe on the last day of our stay, transport costs to our next hotel were covered by the hotel, and we were fed and watered while we waited for the management to gain access.

We would certainly recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a comfortable stay in central Chania.

Thank you,

Hayley and Andy

The Monastery Estate - Venetian Harbour is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. We stayed in a suite with a roof top terrace, it was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and had the comfiest bed. The terrace was stunning and we were able to use the hot tub while looking out over Chania.

The hotel is in a great location with everything you need within walking distance.

We also used the hotels pool and steam room which you can book at reception for private use. It was an amazing experience and the pool area is a beautiful room with a stone arch and very calming atmosphere.

We also booked spa treatments. I received “The Aga Ritual” which was a 10/10 experience. I was extremely relaxed. My partner received the upper body massage and loved it.

The Mones restaurant onsite had delicious food and cocktails and the staff could not do enough for us. My partner does not drink alcohol, so when we were given free alcohol at the end they provided him with a glass of mock tail which was such a lovely touch. It made our day as no one had ever done that before. The staff are extremely thoughtful. It was a lovely night.

The staff were extremely kind and so helpful. We had the best experience staying here for 3 nights. We will definitely be back.

I found my stay here absolutely wonderful. The hotel's decor and design were aesthetically wonderful and comfortable. The staff was energetic and universally helpful and enthisiastic, with special props going out to Flori, who was just great. It's location relative to town also was an unexpected plus as it was at best a 5 minute walk to the harbor. I wish I could stay at a comparable site during any of my vacations. Thanks so much.

Sorry for the delay....yes our hot tub could fit two people. It is semi private but you are looking across the rooftops of Chania. The minibar will only fit the hotel wine. Wine and Cocktails are expensive as it is a 5 star. Alison

Dear Dleow, Unfortunatelly we do not have our own parking area you will be able to park at Sifaka street and Kanevaro street which are the nearest streets around our hotel were you don’t have to pay a ticket. Another option were you could park is the municipality parking of Tafros which is 10 minutes walking distance from our property. Or, you could also park at a private parking. The closest to us is the one at Pireos street (next to supermarket Sklavenitis) which also is a 10 minutes walk from our hotel.
