This is a good value-for-money hotel. The room was satisfactory, and what problems we found (primarily a leaking faucet) were solved quickly by the staff. Our A/C suffered for the heat wave, but worked most of the time. Breakfast is a buffet (even if under covid regulations it needs to be supervised by staff) and it was decent enough - the best part were the fresh watermelon, honey melon and oranges every morning. Possibly due to covid, the bar does not offer food at all, even if they still advertise it as "restaurant" on their website. The swimming pool is big enough although it can get very crowded on weekends and staff is not interested in enforcing any kind of basic rule (which in our case meant that a bunch of kids was allowed to play throwing balls everywhere, running, shouting, splashing all the people sunbathing, and making a general nuisance of themselves for a whole day). The hotel's position is good for Kalamaki beach, but it is otherwise a bit isolated if you do not have a car; the worst aspect is certainly the very busy road it faces, with a lot of pollution (which can be a bit of a problem especially in the swimming pool area). Overall, the best part of the hotel was the staff, very dedicated and professional.

This was a last minute booking and I chose a Maisonette with the bedroom above a lounge and kitchenette area in the new block across a narrow road from the main part of the hotel.

The maisonette was lovely and very clean. This new block had a separate pool to the main hotel, but we could swim in either pool. They were both beautifully clean, unheated but warm enough to swim in as it was lovely weather. The main hotel pool got more sun than the apartments’ pool, which meant I was usually the only person using the apartment pool.

In the apartment we had a fridge, a kettle and a sink but no microwave so we could only do cold snacks. Plates, mugs and cutlery were supplied. The shower worked well but the water was sometimes too hot so you had to adjust it before you got in the shower. There were two small sofas which I think were sofa beds for children but I think they would have been uncomfortable to sleep on as they were very hard. Our double bed upstairs also had a very firm mattress but it was new and had nice quality linen so a softer mattress is just our personal preference.

One of the highlights was the breakfast included in the room rate and the group of lovely lady servers who always greeted us with a smile and a short chat. A special mention to Sofia and Julia who spoke especially good English and were happy to chat and give advice as to where we should visit around Chania if they were not busy.

There was a good choice of food at breakfast, ham, cheese, hot Cretan pies and specialities, cereals, fresh fruit, tinned fruit, various pastries and cakes, bread, jams spreads. Even chocolate mousse and chocolate spread on two mornings, fantastic for a chocolate lover like me! The ladies served out whatever food we wanted and we could go back as many times as we wanted.

We would be very happy to come back here. There were several good sandy beaches about 10 minutes walk away and plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes. Buses passed regularly, though we had a hire car so never took the bus. There is free underground parking for guests staying in the apartments but the spaces are small and a tight fit if you have anything other than a compact car. There’s usually parking available on the road if you do have a bigger car.

Having a New York hotel sales & marketing background, I was so taken with the service, warmth & professionalism at this property, situated on Kalamaki. It is family owned with several family members working there, ensuring
all guest needs are met. Overall, the staff is incredibly gracious. I would like to specifically mention a few individuals who made my stay so special. Sofia Glourmetaki, Manolis Nektarios Kastrinakis, Florentina Boboaca, Mary, Tony & Petros!
The guestroom with balcony was lovely with all necessary comforts.
Breakfast is more than a grand buffet, it is a Greek feast, offering traditional & delicious Cretan dishes
Moreover, having two beautiful swimming pools made my stay even more awesome.
The bus to the center of Chania is situated in front of the hotel & takes approximately 15 min. to travel there. There are many diverse restaurants within walking distance, generally quite good.
I look very forward to returning to the Elektra Beach Hotel next year, as for me, it was perfect. I wish them much continued success!

We stayed at Elektra beach hotel in June 2022. Its location is very good if you want to be away from Chania’s crowd. It’s located at the seaside but the proper beach is about 5 mins walk. The bus that runs to Chania every 20 mins stops 1 minute away from the hotel. Our room was in the new building of the hotel and it was absolutely gorgeous. The cleaner changed towels every single day and tidied the room. I didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t a “don’t disturb” sign for the doors, a list in the room saying the opening ours of the buffet, reception, pool, breakfast times, wifi code. I found the main reception man who seemed to be a manager, an older man, quit rude. He also didn’t speak English and didn’t help me and treated me like I was a staff member. The breakfast was basic and bit too crowded with the waitresses being too many for such a small buffet area. They were very nice and always trying to help. The pool is nice at the main building as there’s the bar but the one at the new suites doesn’t get any sun after 12 o’clock but it’s perfect for chilling. I would definitely go back to this hotel and strongly recommend it.

Great hotel which is made to feel lovely and secluded whilst being pretty close to chania and has a nice strip of restaurant and bars in the opposite direction.

The breakfast buffet had a vast selection of food on offer and always restocked quickly once emptied of a certain food.

What really impressed me was the service and kindness of the waitresses, it was something you'd expect at a 5* hotel at the very least, always smiling and looked like they genuinely enjoyed their jobs

The reason for the 4 out of 5 is simply due to the WiFi, it is SHOCKING. You can argue that WiFi shouldn't really be an issue when on holiday, but for me and my partner it was rather annoying when trying to plan out a day trip or where to eat for the night

Since the moment my boyfriend and I arrived we felt very welcomed. The reception and all workers are very nice and they all speak English. The atmosphere of the hotel and its location is fascinating. The breakfast is something to look up for in the morning as it has such a big variety of food, fruts and sweets. In 15/20 min you are in Chania's center. It is an LGBTQI friendly hotel. Definitely recommended!!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious (we had the maisonette room. The pools in both buildings were clean and refreshing. The breakfasts were superb, with a huge variety and great strong coffee. The wifi worked perfectly throughout the hotel. The staff were amazing. They were all very polite and friendly. A special thank you to Sofia, who made our vacation comfortable and enjoyable.

Upon arrival to the Chania Airport, our Taxi driver was waiting for our family with a name sign.. Which was a relief to us, since we requested one at our last trip to Italy, and the driver was 2 hours late.. Elektra Hotel did all the arrangements for us... ONLY Less than half hour drive we arrived at Elektra Beach Hotel, greeted with a smile from the front desk receptionist. As we waited only 15 minutes for a early check in, which we did not mind, and personally walked to our Triple room, newly remodeled and spacious. We were very satisfied and grateful to have such a nice room for our week stay in Kalamaki, Crete..Our Balcony was equally spacious, with a nice view of the ocean and the near by island.. There was complimentary wine with glasses next to the wet bar, but we do not drink dry red wine, but appreciated the gesture... We asked for recommendations to a local tavern, and Salvantes was 200 meters to the right of the front of the Hotel...We entered unknowing what to expect.. The WOW factor .. The local beach was beautiful, with a few Taverns almost set on the Ocean, with Umbrellas and beach chairs covering the sand...The water with so many shades of Blue , it was like a dream..The entire stay we were impressed with the hospitality and quality of Greek Food at every location, with complimentary shots of local liquor at the end of the meal...Elektra Beach Hotel, may not be big in size, but BIG in Hospitality , Cleanliness, VERY Helpful to meet your personal needs, generous, and much more positive can be said..Along with affordability ...We are early birds, so waking up earlier than the 800am breakfast, and our daily coffee habit, one worker at the Hotel, Christina, not only offered us early coffee and food, but touched our hearts..She was so kind and friendly, gave us Hugs like we were family, but made us feel at Home. The breakfast was delicious, with everything fresh and perfect for a all around healthy breakfast, if you choose... The eggs , were cooked for everyones preference... I can not even explain how much we enjoyed the local greek yogurt, that we will miss for the rest of our lives.. Unless you live in Greece, you can not buy that in any supermarket.. Every morning a bowl, with local honey, museilia, oat granola cereal, with fruit on top, soooooooo yummy... French Coffee, was strong but a added bonus...What a way to start your day... We suggest renting a car on days you want to explore and check out some of the most beautiful beaches in the World... The Palace of Knossos is quite a drive, but worth it..So, is Elfonsia beach on the other side of Crete, but again you do not want to miss that one ....Most days we would relax on the beach, eat at the Taverns and go back and relax at the Hotel Pool...Gifts shops all along that stretch from one side to the other..Great prices and so much to choose from..One day, we explore Chania and the Old Port area, thats another must...We left, with lifelong memories, with a hugs and handshake from the Owner, highly recommending this Hotel and area for anyone who plans a trip to Crete...
