I do now know where to start as this place exceeded by far all my expectations. This was the first time we were taking the plane to travel to a ‘faraway’ place (we are based in Switzerland) and did not know what to expect. We took the taxi from the Heraklion airport and for to the resort. We were immediately welcomed and offered a glass of sparkling wine and juice for the kids. The check in was done in the lounge on the sofas and everything was very smooth. We then were escorted to our rooms and our luggage arrived shortly after. The rooms are spacious and the spa wing where we were was very lovely. The furniture was a bit outdated but in the big scheme of things that was not a factor that negatively impacted us. The bed was comfortable, the toiletries were very nice and the housekeeping was phenomenal. Speaking of phenomenal, we had half board and the choice was ample (at dinner one Greek restaurant, one Italian and one gourmet fusion). Breakfast was also very good and many choices as well. The Veghera bar is worth a very special mention as this is the place where we would go regularity to every evening at 6pm for sunset drinks and then we would return after dinner. Yannis is one of the best and most welcoming bartenders I have ever met and the setting is spectacular overlooking the sea and the beach. The beach is really nice, fine sand and the water is crystal clear despite the wind that constantly blows in Crete. The beach service was also very efficient and the sun beds were disinfected every day. We felt very safe and good at this place! Great for honeymoons, families with or without kids, singles.....The service is really good throughout the resort and it is a place where one can definitely come back to as it has everything. A small mini shop where you can find newspapers, medication, beach stuff, souvenirs, more luxury stores for jewelry, clothing and others.. there is even a small Greek Orthodox Church in the middle of the square! I was quite apprehensive about COVID and safety as I was traveling with children but from the moment we arrived and until we left we could not feel safer and happier. A huge congratulations to Mr. Eduardo Sgubin and his entire team for such a perfect resort! I have been to many places and stayed at very nice proprieties throughout the world but Elounda Beach is probably the one that I could almost call home. I will attach a few pictures as well but my recommendation would be for all of you to leave your gears behind, go to Crete and when you do stay at the Elounda Beach- you will not be disappointed!!!!!

We visited the hotel for 5 nights, we would love to have stayed longer and hope to return. We had booked a standard bungalow, when we arrived we were told that we had been upgraded to a newly decorated and refurbished superior sea view bungalow. What a lovely surprise, we were escorted to our accommodation and it certainly had the wow factor, a beautiful veranda with a settee and armchair plus a table and chairs. Once inside we found a very spacious light and airy room, beautifully decorated and with one of the largest bathrooms that I have ever seen, sunken bath, double sink, separate WC and a large enclosed shower that looked like a sauna, with a rain shower, hand shower and two side jets it was very decadent.
We were able to walk into town in the evening and sample the numerous restaurants, we had lunch in the hotel but were a little disappointed in the menu at the beach bar, I had a toasted sandwich that was decidedly average given how much it cost, we ate in the Italian restaurant for lunch the next day, although there was limited choice for a light lunch we shared a pizza and salad which was of a much higher standard. We had breakfast every morning which was good and the staff were always very friendly and attentive, the chef preparing eggs was also very cheerful and accommodating.
We visited the spa for a massage which was a real treat. The spa is in a tranquil setting with an outdoor pool where we were made to feel very welcome.

We are just back from our annual hotel to this great hotel and as always we wondered why we hadn't stayed an extra week . We have been coming for over 20 years and are already planning for next year.

For anyone who hasn't heard of this hotel it is an absolute gem. The staff are so well trained and couldn't do enough for the guests . I am not going to list them out but they make the holiday for us.

The food is excellent for all meals. Half board is great value and there are many restaurants to dine in from the Greek to the Taverna , the Italian and the Polynesian and finally the Sea Food restaurant. All serve delicious food in great settings.

There are many different types of rooms to choose from. Most have been renovated and even the one's that haven't are very comfortable. The renovated rooms and bungalows are as good as any rooms you would find in a top class hotel.

The beach area is not huge but very well managed and although the hotel is quite large there is never a problem getting a bed or fresh towels. For anybody who feels like a pool instead of the beach there is a fabulous pool in a very peaceful setting with a sensational view.

The village of Elounda is only down the road and it has some lovely restaurants, our favourite is the Loutus Eaters and it is particularly good for lunch.

Agios Nikolaos is about 10 minutes in a taxi and well worth a visit. Great for shopping.

Thanks Maria Sarafi and Andie Argiraki for making this holiday particularly enjoyable.

This was our 2nd visit to this place. Has the wow factor of a 5 star resort and spa. As it was towards the end of season it wasn't as good as last year in Sept and the sister hotel was closed which limited the choice of menu as a result. Nonetheless it has great ambience and beautiful grounds all lit up at night. The beach is a 5 min walk and the town of Elounda is about 1 mile away. The waiters work extremely hard and always give guests a hearty welcome and the breakfast offers a very wide range of foods. All in all a nice place but don't leave it to end of October.

Just had the most amazing holiday at the Elounda Beach Hotel. We stayed for 1 week in a standard room in the main building with a view over the hotel's private beach and a spacious balcony. The room was extremely comfortable with a large, high-quality bed, linens and pillows, which were turned down each evening. On arrival, we were welcomed with a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of red wine. There was a constant supply of bottled water and Nespresso coffee.
The bathroom was marble-fitted with an excellent selection of towels for the room and the beach, slippers and a choice of bathrobes. Complimentary toiletries were the luxury Korres brand and were plentiful. The room was decorated in a classical style with white linens which complimented the pale blue upholstery and polished wooden floors. The room was incredibly comfortable.
The hotel itself is wonderful, the reception areas, restaurants, gardens, pool and beaches are beautiful and ooze a stylish quality in a classical and tasteful way. The breakfast provided for every taste with a vast selection of hot and cold offerings along with freshly made omelettes, pancakes and waffles made to your specific requests. All types of tea and coffee were brought to the table as soon as requested by the courteous staff - a truly perfect way to start each day.
The beach was beautiful. On your first day you are allocated comfortable sun loungers which are yours for the duration. Each morning you are greeted by incredibly helpful staff who prepare your loungers with towelling covers, towels along with complimentary bottled water. There is a call bell on the parasol to request a vast selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. These were all served by the loveliest lady who provided you with everything you needed.
A special mention must go to Apostolos the concierge who welcomed us on arrival and was always so helpful with everything we required. We will certainly be returning soon to this wonderful hotel.

we spent 10 glorious days at Elounda. we were upgraded to a villa room with balcony on the sea, with our own deck chairs and entrance steps into the sea which was clear and blue. the room had a large bathroom en suite, large TV screen, comfy sofa. all the staff wore mask and all covid friendly, breakfast was a buffet with huge choices, and i was given my gluten and dairy free options with no problems. we ate dinner at the restaurants, the pool was warm and clean. would definitely visit this hotel again!

Just returned from our first stay at Elounda in one of the bungalows. Really enjoyed hotel. The staff were amazing and always so helpful and friendly. On arrival greeted with a drink whilst our cases were taken to our room and everything was explained to us. The room had everything you needed. The shower was also a steam room which is a really nice touch. The breakfast was first class with a wide selection. Particularly enjoyed the freshly squeezed juice. Enjoyed the restaurants, especially the Greek and Blue Lagoon. Sun beds on the beach were nicely spaced apart and didn’t feel crowded. Drinks were expensive but we generally went into Elounda after dinner for drinks. Took the hotel buggy to end of resort then a short walk. All the family had a spa treatment which we enjoyed.

Our main criteria when booking was to have a kids club for our kids to have fun while we can relax.

We were surprised to learn from the reception lady that there was no kids club and no daily program for kids. Which was confirmed by a second employee.

After insisting, the kids room was opened. A dark room with small cellar type windows. Equipped with a table, paper and pens.
The only “activity” was drawing inside. No outside activities.

Far far away from the fun and creative activities program promised on the website.

If there are restrictions due to the sanitary situation, they should be mentioned on the website and travel agencies should be informed.

The room was clean but a bit old fashioned, the food was good although overpriced (3 times the tourist restaurant bill in the area) and most of the staff was unpleasant.
The spa was really good and the spa staff nice. The tennis courts were well maintained. The fitness room was well equipped.

When we asked for a gesture to compensate the absence of kids activities, the answer was that they were not able to do anything in such a short delay (only 10 days we were complaining) and that we could come back next year and see if things have changed. Sounded like a really bad joke.

Definitely not the type of answer you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Just adding to the disappointment.

In a nutshell, barely no kids club, poor customer service, and overpriced. Only the prices are the ones of a 5 stars hotel.

Dear Mrs Cristine, I would like to thank you for your review and feedback, which we will use constructively in an effort to perfect our services even more. Firstly, concerning the operation of the kid's club, the health & safety, and well-being of our guests and staff, has always been our number one priority, but now more than ever during these unprecedented times. We follow the guidelines and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Greek government and the Ministry of Health, and we are implementing all necessary health measures on-top (well described in our Safety Protocol in Website) of the Elounda Beach already exemplary sanitation procedures, high hygiene and cleanliness standards, to ensure a safe environment for all our guests and staff. Kid's Clubs should not operate under the Greek law for season 21, and we opened it only for you that rainy day in the context of offering personalized service to all our guests. We hope we shall have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Elounda Beach Hotel again in the near future and in the meantime, remain at your disposal. We stayed at the Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas at the beginning of July when the hotel had just re-opened. Despite the strict governmental measures related to COVID, the hotel staff made sure that we could fully enjoy our holidays while at the same time staying safe.

Rooms are elegant and spacious. Breakfast is superb and there are 3 quality restaurants to choose from for lunch and dinner.

There is also a large swimming pool that our kids really enjoyed as well as a very nice and clean beach.

Last but not least, we would like to express our appreciation to the hotel staff for their exceptional hospitality despite the very difficult and demanding circumstances. Special thanks to Mr Theodoroglakis for ensuring that we had an amazing and memorable stay.

We arrived at 1 am in the morning and check-in was swift and efficient as we were desperate to get to our room.
Would found a bottle of wine, cold platters with cheese and ham and fruit waiting for us.

The quality of the food throughout was excellent and all 4 restaurants offer staff service, thankfully no buffet, just for breakfast which is perfect, in choice and quality.

The staff are extremely friendly and a concierge service assists with all your additional needs.

A buggy service is provided through the resort, in case you have walking problems as property is large and very beautiful. The gardens are immaculate.

There is a big Spa which we did not use as swimming in the sea or pool and a fairly regular sports program kept us busy.

The refurbished villas are absolutely stunning and modern with amazing space and views, whether you need one bedroom , 2 or 3.

Complimentary daily water service was offered in the room as well as at the pool/beach areas which we also really appreciated.

It's an easy walk into Elounda village.

Overall, we were very pleased to stay in a proper 5 star hotel where style and service actually match the number of stars.
We will return.
