The Elounda Ilion Hotel in Crete was built in 1990 and since then has undergone many renovations and extensions with the final being in 2015. The hotel is built on a hill side offering a panoramic view to the bay of Elounda and the island of Spinaloga with its medieval castle. It is situated 10 kilometres from the city of Agios Nikolaos and 2 kilometres from the village of Elounda. The facilities of the hotel include a main restaurant, a snack bar, a central bar, satellite television room, billiard, children's playground, tennis court, mini golf and ping - pong. Also you can enjoy the hotel's swimming pool and your children the separate children's swimming pool. The hotel offers its own parking area.

I think you can hire one from reception however there is a hire place just down the hill. The hotel is on a steep hill with lots of steps, I hope that your mother goes on ok? 🙂

Is there a kettle in the room

There is a small gift shop type place run by a lovely Finnish lady. It has all kinds of drinks and snacks etc. I don't think the prices in the bar are so bad, I don't think about buying beer to get pissed or to count the cost on holiday. The service is great. Not sure whether a large beer was 4 or 5 euros.

"No 16 is the best room for views and location BUT make sure you request a mattress topper. The bed is literally like concrete!"
