If you want to book this place during COVID time, skip it. They are completely inflexible and strict if you have a flight ban or any situation related to travel restriction and need to cancel because of force majeure. Deceptive and unkind service
This hotel is run by warm-hearted people who care for their guests. Ideally situated very close to the city center and directly at the ocean. The room was nice and clean. The view of the ocean is amazing. And it's only a 10 minute car ride away from the airport. I recommend this hotel!
The location is key to this hotel - close to Venetian seafront (and fortress), close to pedestrianised Main Street, and short distance to the archeological museum. Parking is limited - there are 3 actual (and “safe”) parking spaces, and a couple of others in the narrow side street in front of the hotel where you might still have your wing mirror by the following day. All the citybreak boxes are ticked - buffet breakfast good enough, room clean, beds reasonable, shower ok, a room safe in the room, aircon, and helpful reception. It is a city hotel, ideal for a short stay and its price.
One week in September, a short vacation, but the best week of the year. A Small looking hotel, leaded by great persons. A small price for great service and hospitality. A best breakfast buffet. The rooms are completly equiped. Comfortable beds and a refrigerator in every room. This hotel is nearby the Airport. Without rush hour a cab needs only 15 min to the hotel. Finaly; Heraklion is great for for historical sight seen, or relaxing or shopping. Enjoy it.
We stayed here two different times, at the beginning and end of our Greek island hopping holiday. We were flying into Crete and wanted a decent, affordable hotel within range of the port. We took the opportunity to visit the Knossos archeological site, the Archeological museum and to tour Heraklion itself. This hotel really has a good location, overlooking the sea, a 2-minute walk from the old Venetian harbour and close to the centre. Also the ferry port is only a short 5 minute taxi ride away. The roads behind and in front of the hotel have a lot of traffic but the noise wasn’t intrusive. The Hotel had some great seafood and Greek restaurants close by. The hotel itself is slightly dated but I liked the authenticity over more sterile, newer Hotels. It was clean, simple, inexpensive and convenient. It works perfectly as a base while visiting the city, a transit stopover and for going on tours. On our last stop, we stayed in room 201 which was the better choice of our 2 rooms. We had a balcony overlooking the sea with a lovely view of the Fortress, it had a table and 2 chairs and would have been ideal in the evening if it wasn’t so windy. The room was large, clean and quiet with very comfortable beds and good quality bathroom with very good hot shower. The room had really good air conditioning, a small minibar for our cold drinks with complimentary bottles of water, a writing desk with chair, a safe and hair dryer. The one thing that let the room down was the peeling paint by the balcony doors. The reception area is clean and comfortable with a view on the sea. The Elevator was very cramped, only big enough for 2 people with luggage. The Breakfast room is basic but bright and comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet which was more of a continental breakfast, with a selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, eggs, fruits and beverages and good coffee. Don’t expect super fast broadband WIFI but it’s more than capable for checking your Emails and Facebook. The staff are lovely, very pleasant and always find someone smiling and helpful in the reception. They were always available to solve any problems and extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, calling us taxis, trips etc. This hotel was good value. The Hotel décor was slightly dated but the combination of hospitality, good rooms at a reasonable price is unbeatable. If you find yourselves arriving early or leaving late, the hotel are very accommodating about leaving your luggage at reception while you explore the town. We would definitely return.…
