After trying to book a holiday to corfu, this hotel came up as a suggestion, so decided to go with it as a surprise for my wife's birthday, have never been to crete before, it became a bit of an adventure. We arrived late at night due to a little delay, everywhere was locked up and closed but on the reception door a note to us was left telling us which was our room and directions, the keys were in the apartment door and the room was better than we had expected. In the morning we went down to reception, were we was met by one of the cleaners, she phoned Manolis(the owner) who was with us in two minutes, he explained that breakfast was served in the sister hotel across the road, he gave us a lift over, took us to the reception and told the receptionist who we were and that he would see us soon. The imperial Hotel (the sister hotel) is certainly an impressive place and breakfast catered for everyone, from a cooked breakfast to continental, to fruit, cereal, pastries etc. We found that the bus service into chania, plataniss, kissomos, was right outside our hotel, and was was easy and cheap to use. Sunny suites in any other environment should be 5star,the cleaners sorted our room every day, even towel designs, the room we had 305 was fantastic, big balcony, big bedroom, lovely bathroom and big living room /dining area, two televisions and all the electrical implements that you need, the bar was as well priced as anywhere else that we found but the bar staff were a credit to the hotel and certainly made the stay more enjoyable, manolis also has a car hire business, we hired a car for a few days and he certainly gave us a good deal, even letting us keep our room a bit longer for just a nominal fee. Would we return to crete, YES WE WOULD but only if we can stay at Sunny Suites again, a fantastic family friendly, people friendly hotel.

I booked my trip to Maleme pretty late since my previous holiday got cancelled. Sunny Suites is a lovely apartment block - The manager, bar staff and cleaners are all super friendly and always seem to have a smile whilst doing their duty.

Sunny Suites is a great place to book if you are looking for a affordable place to stay, The rooms are of good size, they are clean, the bathroom is modern, the kitchen has everything you need. At the end of the day, you only stay in your room to wash and sleep!

Regarding outside the rooms, the pool bar provides all alcoholic and non Beveridge's, they do serve a small section of food too such as toasties, salads and pizzas. The bar staff are fantastic, especially young Manos who provided me a great insight of Maleme, Chania, Crete and Greece in general.

I will be coming back to stay here but with family or friends the next time. I highly recommend Sunny Suites if you are looking to visit Crete.

Sunny suites was a perfect location for a family holiday. The apartments were well maintained, clean with an excellent maid service. The beds are very comfortable, good air conditioning, good size balconies, great pool with a smaller childrens pool which was great for our grandaughter. The pool bar/ snack facility was great with all the staff being very friendly and helpful. It is quiet and feels very private but is within walking distance to the beach and local tavernas/ supermarkets etc. it is a great location for exploring the local area and we would definitely visit again.

I chose Sunny Suites after reading all the fabulous reviews and we were not disappointed.

Great size, well equipped apartments, large balconies, aircon included, lovely pool, well stocked bar with snacks/light meals and made to feel so welcome by Big and little Manos 😃

I was concerned about travelling due to the pandemic, but have to say felt so safe in hotel and resort. Manos kept us updated daily on the situation and requirements.

I have never booked to go back to the same resort let alone apartments before until now. We have booked to go back in Jul 2021!

Maleme is a fairly quiet family friendly resort which suited us perfectly. We hired a car to go and explore the island as there is so much todo. Manos is so knowledgeable and gave plenty of suggestions of beautiful places to visit.
Love love love Crete and love love love Sunny Suites.

Very nice, had everything we needed, all staff friendly, full size fridge, comfy beds (come with a free hotel cat if not careful), large balcony, only downside was we were at the front so although we had a sea view we had zero sun on the balcony.

Maleme itself is a little soulless but a bus either way are easy to get, if going to Chania go early as by mid afternoon even in October if became very busy both in the new & old town, the latter being overpriced and very limited in different shops, near enough the same 6/7 shops on rotation.

The hotel is a 15 min walk up the hill behind to the German war crematory which was a very sobering visit, the wording in the museum suggested some graves were war criminal graves hence no monument as such. 15 mins to the left of the hotel is the RAF monument which we also visited, it was nice to see both sites are looked after.

Wow! What a beautiful place Sunny Suites is! And what wonderful staff! We were so impressed with the service and comfort we received during our stay in these apartments. They are modern, clean and well maintained with lovely views from the balconies. We had 2 apartments on the first floor as there were 5 of us staying, myself, my husband and our 3 adult children and had plenty of space and equipment to cook for ourselves during our stay. The ladies that cleaned daily were thorough and left clean towels and the place spotless. The whole building was so clean and cared for, it was just amazing! The pool was lovely and the bar staff were so helpful and always smiling, chatty and friendly. It is quieter in April as the season has not quite started although it was warm and sunny and we were able to swim in the pool and the sea. We stayed during Orthodox Easter which was lovely to experience. The hotel manager gave us such a warm welcome and our stay was made extra special when his wife made us Easter bread, biscuits and eggs. On our sons birthday he was even left a bottle of wine in his room! The hospitality provided was really above and beyond and we had a fabulous time at Sunny Suites! We also hired a car from GeePas which is part of the hotel business and this service was brilliant too. We collected the car on arrival at Chania Airport and dropped it there after our stay. It enabled us to explore the beautiful Island of Crete! We were able to use the facilities at the sister hotel, the Imperial too and I would definitely recommend choosing Sunny Suites!

We had a great week at Sunny Suites, Manos and family are so welcoming and helpful.
The rooms are very comfortable and there is a fantastic pool with an excellent bar.
There are plenty of good restaurants in the local area as well as a good bus service which goes to Chania town which runs around every 20 mins during the day.
Plantanos is also on the bus route, this is a lively little town with restaurants bars and an excellent beach

We will be back next year (hopefully!)

We have a lovely stay at Sunny Suites. The 'suite' perfectly suited our needs: space, balcony, air con, good shower and kitchen facilities. The kids weren't too happy at the idea of not having a bedroom each (just the one bedroom + two sofa beds) but it worked out fine, particularly with the decent size balcony where we spent most of our time when at the suite.
Good sized and well maintained pool, good bar with snacks (pizza, toasties, salads and omletes + crisps etc) and the staff were brilliant, so friendly, welcoming and helpful.
It was a short walk to the beach, a number of mini-markets for groceries and tavernas and 'gyros' places for eating out. You can also use the facilities at the Maleme Imperial which is a bigger complex just down the road. We used the pool there a few times + games room and gym.
For the price, I really can't rate it highly enough! Definitely coming back if we visit this area of Crete again.

We stayed here, first week of June. In total there was 7 of us in total, aged from 3 to 81. We booked 3 apartments and we could of been more impressed. All the apartments were spotless and we’ll equipped. Being able to used the facilities at the Imperial was great as it meant the kids were entertained all of the time and the senior members of our party could enjoy the piece and quiet. Personally though, I couldn’t that the staff and manager enough. You have a fab team and you really looked after us. I also really appreciate those drinks on the house. You are all super kind and we look forward to returning. Many thanks. The Fennell Family.
