Apart from being the friendliest place on earth the hospitality is surpassed by the quality of food and location.

We pulled off the highway when we saw the sign for a Taverna on a beach. It's part of the Campground and run by an American/Greek.

This was our first Cretan campsite. We had driven the beautiful old road from Heraklion and dropped down to the coastal strip - a disappointing stretch of hotels, apartments, shops and lots of traffic. We saw the small entrance to the campsite and drove down...More

As a young Ulysses having nostalgia for his beloved land (that's you), I tell you as the owner of Camping Elizabeth that Camping Arcadia closed in the early 1990s as a result of being bought by the neighbouring and beautiful Hotel "Creta Palace". As a 32 year old, I faintly remember when it was open. The owner's family owns a gas station nearby and the owner himself is in the UK now, and we do have contact with him.
I wish you well and maybe see you in the future.
