Detailed Reviews
We are returning guests to this wonderful hotel. That in itself is a positive. It is perfectly placed in a quiet little street in the heart of the old town. You walk in through the doors, escape the wonderful, lively hustle and bustle of the old town and feel like you have escaped to a small quiet palace. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, engaging and informative. They made us feel welcomed, valued and as importantly in these testing times - safe. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel takes all the necessary safety precautions that the COVID world finds necessary, but you still feel relaxed and comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean ( restaurant area, pool area, reception ) and the rooms are cleaned and serviced on a daily basis to a high standard. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast which is table service and very good. There are no shortage of fabulous restaurants and tavernas within a very short walk to eat and drink at lunch time and dinner. This hotel really is worth booking into if you are staying in Rethymnon and want to be close to the harbour and right in amongst the charm which is the old town. We would particularly like to thank all the staff for the wonderful job they did of making our stay much better than we could have expected in these challenging times. We look forward to returning here.

By far the nicest place we stayed in Crete and one of the best anywhere! All the little details were thought of and most of all the staff made this place special. Especially Evangelia (Hope I spelled that correctly) who worked mornings and the breakfast. She is a huge asset to the hotel and should be recognized!
The welcome drink was a nice touch. The breakfast spread changed every day and was high quality. They included some local dishes which was an extra detail.
The courtyard is just beautiful and a peaceful retreat from the crowded streets just outside. In the room the bed was comfortable, the ac cooled the room down quickly and the shower had good water pressure. The room was also decorated with artwork.
The location was directly in the heart of the old town yet close enough to walk to the local beaches.
Our stay at Rimondi is one of my favorite memories of Crete. We hope to return!

Our three wonderful days in old town Rethymno centred around the sheer comfort and style of the remarkable Rimondi Boutique Hotel and the professional and courteous manner of the staff. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a spa suite, where the high curved stone walls of the suite dated back to the Ottoman age. Lying in the the private outdoor spa in the late afternoon after a day of walking around the town was nothing short of fantastic.
Breakfast is a highlight. Sitting outside under shade, enjoying the hotel’s wide ranging à la carte and buffet breakfast options is a special treat. Place the comfortable seating beside the picture-perfect, garden-shrouded pool and breakfast became a statement in holiday indulgence.
With it's unique location in the midst of the beautiful old town, you step out the serenity of the spacious hotel into the beguiling old-world architecture and the excited hum of the bustling Rethymno alleyways.
Rimondi Boutique hotel in the centre of the Rethymnon old town is a unique and enjoyable holiday experience in its own right.

The hotel is located in the heart of Rethymno's Old Town, and an easy walk to some of the finest restaurants in the city and the beach.
We have just returned from our second visit this gem of a hotel - the previous time was in 2019, prior to COVID - and found the standards even higher. If your reviews went to ten stars, this hotel would qualify. Physically, the hotel is just beautiful; the ambiance gracious; and the standard of comfort and cleanliness the highest. All of the staff, whether housekeeping, wait staff, or reception are the most professional you will meet. There is nothing that they will not do to ensure you have the best hotel experience. Quibbling is easy, but I would just say that a better coffee service at breakfast (not brewed, poured into an urn and kept warm) plus a better quality bread would be appreciated.
Please note this hotel is ideal for couples or singles looking for a quiet and peaceful environment. It is definitely not suitable for families with young (under 12) children.
Go and enjoy this Greek gem!

We are returning guests to this wonderful hotel. We never tire of this fabulous place. It is perfectly placed in a quiet little street in the heart of the old town. I have reviewed this hotel before and all the positives of location, ambience etc are still there. It’s a great little hotel, but the best thing about it is the amazing staff. As always, throughout our stay the staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, engaging and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It really was like going back to see friends. The hotel is spotlessly clean ( restaurant area, pool area, reception ) and the rooms are cleaned and serviced on a daily basis to a high standard. We look forward to returning here once again in the not too distant future.

The staff were SO attentive and helpful, always! We had welcome drinks and nibbles on arrival (a nice touch). The location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town but the noise of the hustle and bustle was muted once inside the hotel.
Our room was beautiful and so clean. Our baby had an ‘accident’ on the bed and they were so helpful to clean it up free of charge.
The breakfast was delicious, Evangeline was so attentive and remembered our coffee order each morning. Whenever we sat around the pool, staff immediately brought over a glass of water.
I couldn’t fault our stay; it was truly fabulous! The only things I’d point out are that the lift is very small, so I’d recommend leaving a buggy or wheelchair at the reception desk (or requesting a ground floor room) and the room we stayed in was stunning but wouldn’t have been practical if our baby was older and crawling.
A special thanks to Evangeline and Stella who were so fabulous with our baby! We LOVED our time staying at Hotel Rimondi!

We arrived at the hotel and we’re greeted by such a friendly lady. She welcomed us and took our luggage as we our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived. The hotel is tucked away on a little side street but you are right in the Center of old town so it’s a perfect location for this. The pools are clean and a cool temperature nice for a dip and then laying out in the sun afterwards.
The room we stayed in was on the left hand side up on level. It has doors that opened out on to the view of the circular pool and terrace. It was roomy for 2 people and had a nice large shower. It comes with all the usual shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion just so you know for packing.
The bed was comfortable and the room tidy and clean.
The room has a small fridge too and safe.
The staff at the hotel were all so fried to and happy to help in any way. It was our honeymoon so when we arrived there was a heart shaped plate of dried fruit and nuts and a heart shaped wicker decorative item on the bed waiting for us alongside some sparkling wine they told us to ask for when we were ready.
The breakfast is nice a mix of cold and hot dishes buffet style. The usual Greek mix including fresh fruit, cereals, breads and cakes.
They served almond milk which was impressive as this was the first time in Crete I’d had this.
The hotel also offer other meals but we didn’t try any of this food so can’t advise on this but in general the food was good quality and had some good variety too.
We recommend as a good base whilst staying in old town. Close enough to stroll anywhere and everywhere.
If you want to go to the beach go further the right hand side of the harbour the water is clearer and nicer but in general the beach was quite crowded.

Rimondi Boutique is purely lavish excellence. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we couldn’t say enough of how much we loved it! The staff is truly incredible- Stella and Elena were so hospitable for everything we needed! They would get us pool towels, ask us how our day was and guide us if we had questions about local cuisine! We stayed in a loft suite Room 10. The room was so clean and spacious and had a great view of the pool!! I enjoyed sitting and reading my book while drinking a frappe and just enjoying the peace. It’s in a great location and easy to access. Right around the corner are a ton of shops and cafes! The hotel arranged covid tests for us upon departure back into the USA. Everything was handled so easily and they truly were wonderful!! We will return there!!

I would give this hotel 10 out of 5 stars if I could! Everything from the service to the daily experience was absolutely lovely. We came to the conclusion to just go to the front desk for everything and they would take care of it better than we could think to. I am 6 months pregnant and there were several times I was too tired to go out to dinner. They don’t have room service but brought us some delicious souvlaki and pizza from up the street! Renting a car was really easy - we did it for a day snd had a wonderful time visiting the beaches. Also getting tested for COVID was a snap with the place they recommended - about a 15 min taxi ride away and cost 25 euro. We were in and out in ten minutes. BEAUTIFUL pools - we spent many hours lounging near the pools during the hot days. Wonderful shops right outside the door. Wonderful staff who went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. Thank you for everything!

This hotel is an absolute gem smack in the middle of a beautiful seaside town. We stayed at Rimondi for 2 nights in August (my husband and I and our 3 kids ages 11-16.) The kids had their own beautiful room with a loft bedroom overlooking the pool (pool view suite in the Estate building), and my husband and I had a room a few stairs up that was also lovely and spacious (Executive room). Both were in the newer building which was absolutely lovely, with a picture-perfect courtyard in the middle and a pretty pool surrounded by lemon and orange trees. When we arrived, each room had a beautiful plate with an assortment of Greek pastries and dried fruit and water bottles. We had a hard time finding the place (we drove from Chania airport) so my husband called the hotel and the manager was so friendly and helpful, directing us to a nearby parking lot (the old town is pedestrians only, so you can't drive up to the hotel - you have to park a few blocks away and walk.) As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly, welcoming staff and shown to our beautiful rooms. The rooms included a lovely breakfast in the courtyard with plenty of delicious options (the yogurt and honey is to die for!) The location couldn't be better, you literally step outside the hotel and are in the heart of Rethimno with endless options for shopping, restaurants, cafes etc. There's a great little grocery store that sells everything about a 3 minute walk away, right beside the parking lot. We arrived later in the evening and were starving, and the manager suggested a couple of restaurants, one of which was directly next door, and it ended up being one of the best meals of our trip. The beds were comfortable, there's AC in the rooms, and the rooms were cleaned daily. We couldn't be happier with our choice and would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

An interesting and challenging question! We are both smokers, so need an outside space for our habit. There are several that fit your
requirement - we have just returned from a week in the [expensive] Master Suite! I strongly suggest you email Yiannis, the very helpful Hotel Manager, at the Contact Us address on their website for details.
