We have just got back from an amazing week in Crete. Firstly prior to arriving the hotel communication was excellent, I emailed to check if we could get a transfer booked by the hotel and also to ensure they knew we were arriving at 1am. On arrival they upgraded our classic sea view room to a maisonette with sea view which was absolutely stunning! The room has 2 levels and the sea view is unobstructed, being on the rooftop you have the whole sky and it is like paradise. The room could easily have slept 4 people with 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies. As we missed dinner the first night they also provided us with sandwiches on arrival which were just what we needed.

On arrival you also get a 15 min free massage to be used during your stay. We upgraded ours to 30 mins each for 30 euros each. It was definitely worth it and our therapist Lazatella and Antoneta were very professional and polite, massages were excellent.

We went for the full board option and were very impressed with the options available. We were concerned about the drink restrictions however 4 beers each was actually 8 small beers which was move than enough! We didn’t go over on a single day and we think the tokens may have rolled over. The breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly want and the dinner buffet had different options every evening.

We did head into town for a couple of a la carte meals - special mention to Lemonokidos and Elaia restaurants. The taxi cost 6 euro each way from the hotel and was a standard rate for all taxi drivers, the hotel could call you a cab or there is a taxi rank at the end of the road.

Weather was perfect in September! 30c everyday and a cool breeze. Everything was brand new and spotless clean. The maids were efficient and I don’t know why but everything smelt amazing.

Finally the staff are all incredibly friendly smiley and work very hard. Olina made a real effort with us and remembered our room number and drinks every day. We had lunch everyday at the pool bar with amazing choices, the gyros portion is huge!!

From having a wander into town in numerous occasions, this hotel is by far the best in the area. All of the others you need to cross the main road to get to the beach whereas this hotel is right on the beach.

We could not recommend this hotel enough! If you want a luxurious and chilled holiday this is for you. We cannot wait to return soon!

We stayed at Nautilux Rethymno by Mage hotel for 3 nights in September. This is a brand new hotel right on the beach in Rethymno Crete. It is beautifully architected and decorated, with all modern amenities. Our room had a sea view, great balcony with Jacuzzi on it, all lights and curtains electronically controlled with a touch of a button, marble floors throughout, double sinks in the bathroom, a separate toilet room with it's own sink. The breakfast was included in the price and offered a wide selection of delicious dishes to meet anyone's taste. There are several pools on the property with very comfortable loungers with thick mattresses. The beach is meticulously maintained with lots of loungers, umbrellas and bean bags for comfortable rest. There is also a valet parking underground. The service is top notch, everybody is working hard to make guests comfortable and happy. Specials thanks to Nikita and to Lianne for their hospitality and willingness to assist in every way. This made our stay wonderful. Looking forward to come back again and stay a little longer.

Just got back from an amazing week at Nautilux. Our expectations were blown away.

We went all inclusive for a brilliant price, which involved a large variety of buffet breakfast and dinner as well as an A la Carte menu throughout the day, also including drinks (wine, beer and great choice of cocktails). Additionally there was a late night snack menu served until 12.30am. I cannot fault the food at all, so much choice for everyone.

The staff were fantastic, very informative, giving great recommendations for cocktails as well as other restaurants in Rethymno. (Achinos restaurant was exceptional, we also went to Cava D’or and Sofra).

A special thank you to Panos and Olina who were amazing. They made us feel at ease and relaxed, providing 5star service the whole time.

The hotel itself and rooms were immaculate, very clean and modern with fantastic views across the hotel and to the beach. There were always enough sun loungers too.

We also received a complementary massage and welcome drinks.

If I was to mention any negative at all, it would be that they should have music/live entertainment in the evenings around the bar area.

100% would recommend, great location, access to private beach and extremely attentive staff.

The hotel is very clean modern and aesthetically pleasing, everything is brand new with comfortable beds and pillows, the rooms are quite small but not very practical as theres little wardrobe hanging space so my dresses were creased and who can be bothered with the hassle of asking for an iron and board on holiday? There were no shelves in the bathroom either, obviously we don’t watch much tv on holiday but it was very limited English channels also they promote the whole of the hotel grounds as having WiFi but it’s so poor I gave up trying and the area is also poor for 5G.
On our first day all the beds were taken by 10am with some greedy ones bagging Bali beds for the shade and 2 extra beds for the sun 🤯 so we had to join the club and got up early the next day to secure a spot, yes the sun beds are comfy but as they are dark brown you literally get 3rd degree burns if you touch them a bad choice of colour and not thought through properly in my opinion. The most annoying thing about the way this hotel is run is you have to sign your name print your name and room number for every little thing you order even a soft drink! I know wrist bands can be quite annoying but the reason is it works! as you just don’t want to be pestered constantly. We were all inclusive but we only ate in 2 times in the evening as the food was poor I’ve had better food in a 3 star hotel, the restaurant is closed for lunch so you just had to order from a limited menu at a table outside, the breakfast was very basic not even a little cava to make you feel special in a 5 star hotel 👎 oh and don’t get me started on the alcohol measures 🙄 the wine glasses are small and not even 1/2 filled and if your not much of a wine or beer drinker don’t pay for all inclusive as your only limited to 2 spirit measures per day, I’m a firm believer if you pay for all inclusive that’s what it should be. We ate every day at the restaurant right next door with great Cretan food and atmosphere and very reasonable! It made our holiday. We knew there might be teething problems with the hotel being so new and we took a risk that unfortunately didn’t pay off. It’s not all bad the staff are friendly the pool area is lovely and the beds are free on the beach too. I’m not a moaning mini just trying to give a more rounded out view on the place.

The hotel itself is fantastic. It has a very modern, chic feel and does ooze elegance, I can't fault the hotels aesthetics and it does have a genuine 5* feel too it.

It has 2 lovely pools and direct access onto the beach, it's approx a 20 minute walk to Old Town as well so the hotel does excel when it comes to looks and location.

For me, service is key and can outweigh any negatives or flaws the hotel may have, however this is where it falls short... Having read the reviews here, I really felt like I was going to be getting an 'experience', however I really didn't feel the warmth and was totally underwhelmed, mainly by the reception staff.

In my booking request, I had asked if we could have a show around the hotel, I work in travel so it would have been useful to get a more in depth look at the room types offered, this wasn't noted and never happened.

After my 1st night, I asked at the reception desk about the cost of upgrading to a room with a hot tub, the lady initially said she had availability and then quickly retracted that and said she wasn't entirely sure, she said to leave it in her hands and she would revert back to me later that day, I heard nothing back which is poor.

Thankfully, certain members of staff, notably Despina, Capt. George, Eiline, and especially Olina (who was exemplary) helped restore some faith and are a credit to the Nautilux.

Food wise.. Breakfast is your standard mix of what you would expect at a 5* hotel, a vast array of options and it's relatively decent.. The lunch menu is the standout, the food here was fantastic, dinner is strictly buffet and I have to say, the 5 nights we ate in we was left underwhelmed.

All in all.. facilities and hotel is top end, service levels fell massively short but I'm not disregarding everyone elses reviews nor do I disbelieve them, this is purely my own thoughts and experience and on this. I think I just had exceptionally high hopes and just felt on this occassion it wasn't delivered.

Would I go back? Yes.. they're in the infancy, teething issues are bound to happen and I believe it will be a well-recognised and reputable hotel as they establish their name.

We went for almost 2 weeks and have nothing negative to say about this hotel.
Everything is perfect, the staff is very nice and polite, the service is quick and easy. One of the manager (the very tall man with gray hair) at the restaurant is so gentle and nice with everybody, and konstantinos too, they accomodated us with couple of things about our trip very easily.
Everything in the hotel is class, high quality, they paid attention to all the small details, its beautiful, clean, and it smells good all around.
Food is good and fresh, and they have a great variety of drinks too.
The location of the hotel is very nice, we went to downtown rethymnon almost every day by walk, there is a lot of things to do/see, and nautilux is one of the only hotels who have a direct access to the beach.
We loved everything about it and we will come back for sure!

My wife and myself had never visited Crete before, so this was a very new experience. Fortunately, we have friends who’ve been there many times and helped us choose Rethymno as the perfect place to stay. After shortlisting a few hotels we decided on the Nautilux as it was 5*, modern, right on the beach and gave us the option of a room with a private plunge pool. It’s also near to the town yet far enough away from the hustle & bustle to be a calm & relaxing place to unwind.

On arrival we were greeted by their friendly reception staff who seated us on a sofa and offered us a refreshing cool drink whilst checking us in. Following this we were given a personal tour of the hotel facilities before being shown to our ground floor room.

The room was clean, spacious, with a large double bed and modern shower room. A large glass sliding door led onto a private terrace with a plunge pool. One thing to remember about Crete is that used toilet tissue must not be flushed down the toilet but placed in the bin provided. However, this isn’t as bad as it sounds.

The staff at the Nautilux are its greatest asset. Friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Without doubt this is now one of my favourite hotels. Probably my favourite in the whole Mediterranean. It really is that good. We’ll definitely return but probably in early September when the water is warmer.

The hotel itself is rather new, and it feels very fresh. Hopefully they will retain this atmosphere. The location is great, not in the center of the city, but within walking distance - 30 minutes - or a short drive. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, so no need to venture into the center for this. It's right on the beach, no need to cross the road, and plenty of loungers. Could potentially get busy in peak season.
The rooms are very modern and hi-tech. Loungers on the balcony instead of chairs would be great, but maybe that's reserved for the higher end rooms. Very comfortable and spacious enough. Lack of hooks in the bathroom. Not unique to this hotel room, seems to be a global phenomenon that hotels have a very limited bathroom hook quota.
We didn't try the evening buffet, but breakfast was great. Good variety and high quality food.
The staff was clearly very well trained. Very professional and friendly, and also efficient (for the most part) with the services.
The short complimentary massage was a very nice touch (and very much needed!).
Wifi is good, and available everywhere, even on the beach (should you need it).
Overall a very nice stay, and definitely recommended.

Nautilux is a modern hotel with smart facilities and close proximity to the center of Rethymnon. Furthermore, I had a delightful stay due to the fantastic customer service.
At the center of the hotel, we have multiple pools and a bar; I enjoy the atmosphere quite a lot. Then there is the beach. The sand near the sunbeds is very clean, and the sea is quite relaxing. That said, if you're going for a swim, you should watch out for the small rocks drifting on the shore. The food is delicious, as expected from a five-star hotel, especially the seafood.
As for the rooms, they are awesome. I personally have allergies to certain types of fabric, so when traveling, I tend to bring my own bed sheets and pillowcases. But the beds were so great that I didn't even bother changing them. I stayed for a whole week without any adverse reactions from my body.

This hotel only opened in June 2022 so the facilities and buildings had a lovely new feel to them. We were there at the end of the season so it was quiet, but the staff were so attentive. The ambiance was very calm and hotel and surroundings by the pool and beach were spotless. The food was a very good quality and there was a wide selection which was wonderfully presented. All the staff were attentive throughout the hotel and the massages in the spa were very relaxing. The hotel is ideal for couples as no children under 11 are allowed to stay there. The hotel is right on the beach and only a very comfortable 3km walk along the beach front to the nearby town of Rethymno.
