This was my third stay at this hotel: Good service, nice and patient employees (we have 2 small children), yummy food, clean rooms, excellent location near (walking distance) to old town .... very relaxing and enjoyable vacation, thank you!

Very nice hotel near the old town. The situation was excellent. Espesially near the beach where hotel has own area, where sunbeds and umbrellas are free for hotel customers. On beach worked a nice gentleman, who brought us drinks and freshments when we ordered them. Cleaning in our room and all over the hotel was done very well. Espesially thanks to the lady who cleaned our room (304). Breakfast was good and variable. Everything was fresh and coffee was strong enough. Personnel was friendly all over the hotel. It was also remarkable that some fruit and a bottle of wine waited in our room when we arrived there. We had a good holiday in Rethymnon. Also next time we would choose Kriti Beach hotel.

Unfortunately and strangely we had a totally different experience from most of the reviews here. Arrived early hours of morning to a huge queue to book in - every party in front of us were loudly upgraded to a junior suite crew of charge - not great when you have paid extra for this room type - then when it was our turn some 40 mins later - we enquired about an upgrade and was told “ they were lucky you aren’t” . So not a great start. The room was TINY ( never a junior suite !) with only ONE chair and was such a disappointment as we had paid the extra for a larger room. We also found staff to be rude and ignorant especially at breakfast - the lady running the restaurant was worst just pointed to a table never a smile or a greeting. Only person there who said good morning was the male waiter with dark hair and a beard - only one who ever smiled to! No irons available - but you can pay for an ironing service !we went into town and brought one for price they wanted to iron one dress! The pool is pointless - no space around it and constantly in shade with only FOUR (!!) sunbeds. On last day we asked to pay to keep room but they said they were fully booked ( let us keep it till 4pm for €55!) yet on bookings.com there were many rooms available. Just another example of lack of customer care. How this hotel can be a five star we do not understand as not even a 4* in our opinion. Shame as location is great but that’s only good point for us. …

Dear Jackie, we are very sorry about the experience you shared with us. As most of our reviews point out, our customer service is excellent and guest oriented. Friendliness is one of our top assets as you can see on most evaluations about our hotel departments. In spite of having numerous arrivals at the same time, all arrivals were handled in no more than 20 minutes. As it happens in all hotels,especially when they are fully boked, sometimes the reserved room type is not available so an upgrade is necessary. This is what happened on arrival. Your room type was a Junior Suite Sea View and we reserved one of our best for you with direkt front sea view. Unfortunately an upgrade was impossible in your case since all of our Deluxe Suites we occupied. Also, due to very high demand period, given the expected arrivals, it was not possible to provide you with late check out. Generally we are really sorry about your impressions since we always try to do the best for our guests during their stay. Sometimes our hands are tight when there are no other options due to the fact that the hotel is fully booked. An email with your request (for example about the day use) is always helpful to be sent in advance so that we can make a longer terrm plan about it. I have stayed at Kriti Beach every year since 2012, it is the best hotel in Rethymno :-) I have stayed in many other hotels as well, bet after 2012 always Kriti Beach. It's a beautiful hotel and very kind and helpful people. I love them all, Magda, Celesta, Manuela, Kristos and all the other ones - they always make my stay beautiful. Me and my husband keep coming back. We do enjoy our stay when we travel as a couple or with family. We both tried double room and family room witch is both really. nice. The room and service: its clean, the room service is really nice and we always come back to a fresh room. Its filled with light witch isnt always the case (from other hotels that has been dark and less source of light). Staff: they are giving the best service. Always a smile, always giving extra when it comes to reception and breakfast. Breakfast they come to your table with for instance Feta cheese if it isnt in the serving counter. And if you ask a couple of times, they remember you and they come to your table with a smile remembering you want Feta cheese to every breakfast :) Beach is nice and clean and love the service. The only minus bout the hotel is when youre sourronded by smoking guests and you want to have your room-door to balcony open or when you sit on the balcony and you get the smoke twoards you. I guess its complicated to handle but the idea would be to have a smokers zone and non-smokers zone. But I realize that is hard to practice=) I do love the bottle of wine waiting for you in your room at arrival, and its tasty (obvious its subjective but lucky for me I love the white wine to enjoy). Breakfast is lovely, fresh and they fill it up fast. Overall its above the standard that we have experienced so far. I realize that when you keep returning back its easier to love the staff, but they dont make it hard to like them the first visit and the service. I would defently recommend this, and when having a family member or two with you the family room is a good and nice welcoming soulution=) Looking forward to come back <3…

Kriti Beach Hotel is special compared to many places we have tried; good service, personal friendliness, comfort, good restaurant, location, beach etc. When we checked in for a two-week stay, we got a nice room, but we wanted a slightly bigger one. Without problem we were (for an acceptable price) upgraded to a suite. The stay was a little adventure with the wonderful staff. Thanks for it including many positive handovers!

This hotel was everything that we expected. Perfect location right in the center of Rethymnon right across a small road from the beach. The location was absolutely perfect. We walked around charming little streets to look at little stores and admired the beautiful architecture. The beach was great and had plenty of lounge chairs for us to sit in. The hotel was great as well. The food was delicious and different every day. Fresh juices every morning were a great start to the day. The staff was very friendly as well. The room was very clean and modern and had a little balcony to sit in to watch the sunset. I would definitely recommend this hotel for adults and families with older kids. The pool was small and not really for small kids but it was perfect for us. Traveled with my 15-year-old daughter. The pool was not needed at all as the sea was just perfect.…

Our Room # 309 The hotel is perfectly located. Steps away from restaurants, shops, the beach, and a short hike (20 minutes) to the city center/old port. There's a large grocery store on the same street as the hotel, on the next block up, just walk away from the ocean/main strip up the hill from the hotel. The beach has plenty of beach loungers for free, so you never have to fight for a spot. The beach is also spotlessly clean. My room was a superior/partial sea view. Spacious and clean. The room furniture and hallway carpeting are a little tired, but that's a minor complaint. The wi-fi is great. Lastly, the service was top notch. Check in and check out were a breeze. The staff were professional and friendly. Even the cleaning lady was awesome. We had a super early flight to catch (7am). Not only did the front desk make sure to coordinate a early cab for us, they made sure to have a early breakfast ready for my wife. So thoughtful! Just top notch service! We were visiting the beach near by this hotel on Easter Sunday and was invited to sample some food and drinks by chef Manos. Absolutely amazing display and variety of items and the taste was incredible!! The chef is a true gem to this hotel and will definitely be booking here at our next trip.
