Can’t praise the staff enough, all the ladies from the breakfast staff to reception and the cleaners are all lovely and take time out to stop and chat and help you out with anything you need.
A couple of eating recommendations try Stella’s kitchen for lunch, just a one woman show, all home cooked dishes just around the corner. And for dinner Othonas on Petixaki Square and Vassilis by the Fortezza.
Thanks for a wonderful stay, we will be back.
This small boutique hotel is located in the heart of the old town of Rethymnon, Crete and is ideal for both solo travelers and couples to relax and explore the city.
Located right in the center, it is only a few minutes' walk from all the sights, quaint taverns, both classic and hip restaurants, and the main shopping street with many beautiful boutiques.
The beach and the castle invite you to take lovely walks, including wonderful photo shoots.
The hotel itself is located in a slightly wider side street (the taxi drives right up to the door), it is very quiet and with the beautifully designed garden with palm, olive and lemon trees, it is a real gem.
The breakfast buffet is of very high quality, really delicious and also sustainably designed. It has everything you could want on vacation.
There is the best granola with Greek yoghurt, small croissants & pain au chocolates, oven-fresh bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit and sweet, regional baked goods as well as a pot of coffee, which is served on request and which you can take straight to the pool after breakfast.
Every day there is an additional menu with warm egg prices for breakfast, I can highly recommend the pouched eggs.
After breakfast you can order from a drinks menu by the pool until late in the evening, e.g. coffee specialties, iced teas, Aperol Spritz, wine or beer.
Everything is lovingly designed with chic furniture in a fine country house style: the terrace, as well as the rooms, which are very spacious and cleaned every day and laid out with fresh towels.
The service is very good, the staff extremely friendly, helpful and always greeted me with a smile on their face. You feel in good hands and looked after, especially as a solo traveler.
All in all, a very nice stay, exactly as described online and exactly what I needed to escape from everyday life and switch off.
Thank you very much! I'd love to come back!
Tucked down a little side street, which gave peaceful sleep, this hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring the whole of Rethymnon Old Town and also for an easy walk to the beach.
We stayed in Room 5 which gave us a little balcony overlooking the Pepi courtyard and palm trees. We also had a lovely terrace area outside the room door furnished with table and chairs. The room was everything we hoped for and it had modern touches to add character which added to its charm. The bed was massive and very comfy. The pillows were some of the best I've had in Greece- some are awful!
The stay was enhanced by the lovely staff. They all quietly and calmly got on with their tasks but were smiley and chatty and just seemed really happy. Kula(??), Maria Ireni and Alberto made the delicious breakfast eaten in the pretty courtyard even better. So friendly.
We loved everything about our stay here and would not hesitate to return. Some people may be bothered by the quite shady courtyard if they were relying on sun bathing at the hotel but the same shade was lovely to come back to after the beach!
Manoussos and his family have created a gem of a hotel here and we were so happy to have had 2 whole weeks here.
We would certainly choose Pepi if we return to Rethymnon.
The hotel grounds featured a small pool, with lounge chairs and beautiful fruit and palm trees.
Our host, Manos, was an absolute dream...he and his family have been in the hotel/travel industry for many years and it shows. We appreciated that there was not your normal breakfast buffet; instead, you order from a menu the day before and breakfast is served either in the charming breakfast room or outside if the weather permits. And the breakfast was delicious.
Don't miss this gem of a hotel!!! Thank you Manos and the lovely young lady who checked us in.
The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble.
There were 6 of us and we had 3 of the superior rooms on the first floor, they were really clean and there was plenty of room and it had everything we needed.
Breakfast in the garden was wonderful, a great selection of eggs and pastries and orange juice to die for.
Just a lovely lovely personable place to stay, will definitely go back!!
