The hotel is nice, clean, and just 5 minutes away from the beach where there are also mini markets to buy whatever you need. The staff is great and helpful, the entertainment part was nice, and the food is very good. Unfortunately, since the rooms are on an open coridor, you can hear the noise from the street, especially during the night. For a 4 star hotel, there were two things that we do not consider normal, and are ruining the reputation, in our opinion. 1) They charge 2.5 euro for a 0.75l bottle of water at the dinner, when at the market 1.5l costs 50 cents, and considering this is not an a-la-carte restaurant, but the breakfast and dinner are included in the package. 2) They offered a very poor early breakfast for when we went to a trip 30 minutes before the breakfast hours. There were no tomatoes, no cucumbers, or any fruits offered... only some bread, cheese slices and coffee. All in all, we've had a very nice vacation in Rethymnon, as Crete is a great Island which has a lot to offer, and Greeks are very nice people 😀

4/5 and this is me being very generous. I will split it into categories: Food - 5/5 - We had half-board service and the food was excellent. We are not eating vegan, gluten-free or any specific type of diet so I am not sure how it would work for someone that would need that. Rooms - 2/5 - We spend so little time in rooms so this should be easy 5/5 as we don't demand a lot, just for rooms to be clean and that the bathroom and bed are functional. Balcony is very narrow and you can't really sit on it, air conditioning is not that good and needs a lot of time to reach desired temperature but those are minor things for us tbh. We had superior room with a pool view so the noise wasn't an issue. However, if you are on the third floor during full season, you can forget about showering between 7PM - 8PM. The water pressure is very low. What annoys me more than the pressure is how the staff is handling it. Basically they think you are an idiot and they are always telling you they are working on fixing it, or it's a battery thing. If the pressure was great at 6PM and magically gets bad after 7PM you don't have to be a genius to figure out that it's due to a lot of people using the shower + being on the last floor. So, if you are coming during full season months, make sure to ask for the first floor. Pool - Didn't use it much. It's in the shadow for the most part of the day Other things that can be better are: - Safe deposit box shouldn't be extra charge but it is - Drink prices during breakfast and dinner should be lower as right now they are higher than on the beach. That's it. Overall we are happy and if there weren't shower issues we would give 5/5. As it is, it is probably 3.5/5.

We stayed at the Atrium Ambience towards the end of June. Amazing location a short walk to beach in Rethymno. The hotel had a small, intimate feel and the days spent there were calm and relaxing, despite being in quite a built up area. The welcome was friendly from the reception all the way through to all the bar staff, servers and cleaning staff. The whole place was immaculately clean and uncluttered and the room was great, literally 15 seconds from the pool! We loved it! The food was always fresh and of a good standard, nice variety. I think a small improvement would be to have had show cooking on some days as things like fish would have been less dry, some of the hot food did sit around for a while, but a constructive suggestion, not a moan! All the guests were polite and respectful of others. Loved the resident cat, very cute! We had a faulty hairdryer which they dealt with without a fuss and promptly. All in all, a great location, excellent choice and would return! Thank you all staff for such a lovely time!

This is a fantastic hotel with great services. Starting with the room, cozy, clean, extremely comfortable bed... I had a balcony with a tree in front of it, so perfect for privacy! Sheets and towels are changed every day, the amenities are of very good quality (olive oil shampoo, body wash, and body lotion - very useful for soothing after a sunny day at the beach). The food? There was absolutely nothing that I didn't love! Lots of choice, always fresh, nice presentation of the buffet (they had these little charming decorations, very original) - and the service so discreet, friendly, professional! Many thanks for the generosity and hospitality to Elena, Maria, Metania, Mary, Eva, Eleni, chef Manolis, and to the rest of the team whose names I was a bit shy to ask... You added quality to my vacation and I couldn't thank you more. The hotel is located on a little street at around 100 m from the beach and restaurants, and upwards, at around 100 m from one of the city's main boulevards. I would walk there in the afternoons, trying to grasp a glimpse of the people's life in Rethymno, and in the evening I always walked along the beach to the stunning Venetian-style downtown, în the hustle and bustle of this lively and charming town. I wholeheartedly recommend Atrium Ambiance hotel for a holiday that will always stay in your memory. Greetings and thanks again to the Atrium hotel and restaurant teams. We returned to Crete after last year's vacation, spent in Heraklion, choosing to stay at a 4-star hotel in Rethimnon. We had a no problem-free flight of about 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a plane of a Greek company. We arrived at Heraklion airport at 19:00 and at the hotel after 22:00. To our surprise, a very kind lady served us a cold dinner, matched by us with cold beer and a very good rosé (drinks are paid separately). Great hotel room, excellent, extremely relaxing bed. The bathroom is not very big, but very clean, in fact the whole hotel is very clean. Congratulations to the cleaning ladies. Fairly large balcony, with a table and two chairs overlooking the bar, the swimming pool on the side of the street in front. The food (breakfast and dinner were included in the price) was the best and most varied ever. The staff is very polite and friendly. Once every two days we had a small show on the terrace of the hotel bar. Both shows, which we managed to see, were very successful. Don't miss Nicos the bartender's cocktails! The hotel is very close to the beach, nearby there are a lot of shops, terraces, at affordable prices. The old center is about a 20-minute walk away. Renting a car is between 30-40 euros per day. Crete is a beautiful island that deserves to be visited several times. Great vacation! We're coming back!

We were welcomed by Mattheos in reception who was very kind and explained everything really well. We were given room 400. Good size room, big balcony but really tiny bathroom. No complimentary water on arrival. There is no tea nor coffee in the bedroom although you have a kettle, cups and spoons. It would cost the hotel 0,20€ to have a bottle of water in the bedroom and it would be a blessing to guests after a very long journey in airports, aeroplanes and taxis. The bathroom floods every time we have a shower. This has been previously reported on Tripadvisor by another guest and apparently it has been dismissed. Thumbs up for the rain shower... shame about the extra flooding that comes with it. It has also been dismissed a previous review that the a/c controls have this bright blue light that disturbs your sleep. And as it reflects on the mirror, you have double the trouble. There is light coming from everywhere, so I recommend that you take an eye mask. Mattress is really good and housekeeping/cleaning is done to perfection. Most staff members are excellent and very helpful however there is a lot of chatting going on during breakfast service and they insist on staying in the way. It is not unusual to see a trolley being handled during breakfast which is a nuissance if you come here to rest and a safety concern. Pool area is always very slippery. We haven't used the pool as it is in the shade for most of the day. The beach is a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and there you have enough space to swim and sunbathe. Gym is small but has a bit of everything. But no windows... Entertainment is so and so. The one in hotel next door is a lot better. We visited 3 times as it had better "ambiance" over there. Atrium is pretty but the layout imposes several limitations. More visible at meal times where the lack of intuitive organisation complicated things further. You will see bread in two different areas, one of them heavily used and crowded - clearly in the wrong place. What is also in the wrong place is butter. It is next to the salads instead of other dairy (i.e. cheese and yoghurt). Lot to improve and fell very short from our expectations.

First full day here. Everything exceeds expectations. The public areas and pool are lovely. The rooms are spacious and modern, we have a superior pool room. We are on half board and the breakfast and buffet evening meal was of good quality. Best of all is the level of service, this hotel is only bettered by the W in Hong Kong in my experience, service is professional, friendly and they go the extra mile, I can only reason this is not at least a four star due to the location, as in it’s not in the old town or beach front.

Another great stay at this great hotel. what lovely people work there. Beautiful rooms that are cleaned every day including new towels and bath mat. The food is delicious and variable. At the table, the lovely employees provide you with a drink (for a fee) extra compliments for Persa from the reception Also Maria and Mary and the host who manages the staff in the restaurant. They made our stay extra pleasant. The management also regularly walks past the guests to have a chat. This makes it very personal. Thank you very much for everything. Nico and Nancy
