Our stay at Archipelagos has been amazing, the staff at the hotel listen very carefully to your requests and made our stay at archipelagos very very nice! Rooms overlook a very pretty sea (with sunset) and the old town of Rehtymno!

The swimming pool is very nice for a cooldown, but if you are not in for a dive in the pool you can just cross the road and dive into the sea. It’s a small cute beach especially nice if you are with kids, but also very nice for adults.

Breakfast was fine and contains a mix of greek and continental food and changes every day!
Beds were really great and rooms are bright and renovated last year (very beautiful).

Our stay was during the events of covid-19 and the hotel had just been open for 2 weeks again. Breakfast is being served to you which takes a little longer then normal but this was no problem for us. Rooms are not being cleaned everyday due to the greek health protocol, but when you want your room cleaned, you can just ask for it at the reception.

Beach towels can be borrowed (with a 10 euro deposit) at the reception as well and can be swapped out for clean ones as well.

We booked our excursions trough the reception and this was very easily handled by Estellios. You will be given a voucher which you hand in to the tour-operator.

Walk is about 20 minutes towards the old town. Big supermarket (Synka) in about 8 minutes. When we were too lazy we made use of the many Lime scooters available. (you need to install the lime app for this). They are fast and very convenient if you are too lazy to walk. There is elevators on every level, so if you have trouble walking, or took an awful misstep in the Samaria gorge (like us) you can easily get to all the facility’s.

Thank you so much for our pleasent stay, it has been great!

Really friendly hotel staff, we were met every day with a warm greeting. Breakfast was great and varied every day. The rooms all have balconies with a full sea view and had all recently been modernised; very clean and comfortable with all the appliances you would need (fridge, kettle etc) to prepare basic meals. The location for us was brilliant, as it was close to a secluded and sheltered beach (which would be ideal for young children) and near to a few lesser known restaurants and bars to the west of the main city. We enjoyed the 10 minute walk into town every night, stopping on the way for a beer at the bar (next to the community swimming pool) overlooking the sea. What really stood out about the hotel though was that when accidentally I left my driving licence and credit card in the room, the owner took the trouble to contact me and couriered them back to the UK and wouldn't hear of me paying for that. That was a really excellent level of service - Thank you Stelios!

The seaside view and the recently refurbished rooms look splendid. We've really enjoyed spending our holiday at Archipelagos Hotel. Apart from the lovely view that the seaside rooms offer, the cleanliness is also kept to a high standard and, as a nice touch, there is also a small window in the bathroom (which can be opened from the bedroom) and through which the seaside view can be taken in should one wish to do so. Breakfast was also plentiful and with a more than decent selection of various food items, in addition to which Mr. Stelios is an excellent host - hospitable and knowledgeable in all areas concerning Rethymnon: from car rentals, to restaurant recommendations and sightseeing. We would certainly opt to stay here again on our next visit to Rethymnon!

My daughter booked an economy room via a holiday company along with flights. We arrived at the Archipelagos very early in the morning. Mr Stelios greeted us and showed us to our room. We were very disappointed with the room as it was in no way the room/balcony shown on the website. It was cramped, dark and smelled of damp (didn’t use wardrobe as is smelled damp).

We approached Mr Stelios the following morning to ask if we could change room, he said he would look at his bookings and see if we could change. This went on for several days then we realised Mr Stelios had no intention or was genuinely unable to change our room. The economy rooms have NOT been refurbished and are very dated, which we pointed out to him. Some of the economy rooms are in the basement of the hotel! We were not the only ones asking to change room! Be aware of this before you go!
Our room was a side sea view. We couldn’t sit on the balcony as it didn’t have a great outlook and space was very limited!

Pros for the hotel are definitely the staff, Andreas works the pool bar and is constantly on the go all day! He provides amazing food and great cocktails. The technician (handyman) is very accommodating - we needed a light fixed and new shower head. The reception team are very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff are excellent and kept our room very clean.
There is a nice little beach across the road, sun umbrellas available on the basement floor of the hotel.
Within easy walking distance of the old town. Restaurants and shops close by.

Cons of the hotel; the pool area can become very busy at certain times of the day, we headed off to the beach at these times. Breakfast has the same items every day and the breakfast area is a cramped horseshoe shape.
The economy rooms are not as advertised, I will be taking this issue to the holiday company.

Me and my girlfriend visited Archipelagos as walk-in guests.
The manager was very kind, helpful and informative. He presented all the available rooms, he offered outstanding prices and he was very flexible with the check out.

The rooms were sparkling clean, newly renovated and modern with all the amenities we needed and of course with breathtaking views to the open sea and the city.

The breakfast was delicious and the service extraordinary.

It was one of the best stays we ‘ve ever had and we totally recommend to stay at Archipelagos.

We want to thank the manager for everything and we are looking forward to staying there again!

What a fantastic place to stay! I found it magical ! The room from the hotel room was stunning! The owner is so kind and would do anytime make sure you are having the best time here. The 2 girls who works at the reception were extremely helpful too. They were so kind to let me borrow the bicycle at no cost to cycle to the beach .
There is also a beach right in front of the hotel !it turned up to be my favourite beach . Mind you if you like to see tourists and lots of restaurants, cocktails bar all along the beach then go to the one I went on the bicycle. It is only 10 minutes drive (3 euros to 5 euros by taxi) all can be organised not the hotel .
If you want to experience peace and quiet then that beach opposite is just perfect .
The hotel is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the old town where you will enjoy shops , tavernes , restaurants …
I absolutely loved that hotel and thank you again for your hospitality.
If you go to rethymnon do not hesitate just book yourself a room there it is just a dream .
Eric from London

Lovely hotel in a great location and with a lovely little beach in front of it, with a beautiful view of the sea and old town.
The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, all staff were very friendly and helpful, always at the guests' service.
One of the most beautiful vacations ever.

We stayed 7 nights. Initialy we booked a diferent room, cheaper. At the hotel we received a better room, the one next to the pool. We didn’t asked for it , probably they had it available and gave it to us just to make us the holiday more pleasent.
The hotel has a good location, 10-15 min on feet from the old town Rethymno. In front of the hotel there is a nice Beach, it is small, but with finest sand and the enteance in the water is made very easy.
The pool and the relax area very good.
The cleaning in the room was made every morning.
The breakfast very gooood, with diferent types of food. It was bufet.
The mask it is necessary in the elevator and breakfast. The employees were wearing it too.
So, if you chose to have your holiday in Crete, you’ll not regrete if you stay at Archipelagos Hotel.

This hotel is build upon a mountain, when you first enter you might think it's a bit small. However, when you take the first elevator you step out on the 2nd floor, with a pool and terrace overlooking the sea. From there on it's short elevator rides, or some stairs, to take you to your room. All rooms overlook the ocean and are brand spanking new. Great beds, beautiful bathroom from which you can also see the ocean (if you want). The staff is super helpful! After hearing we love cycling they immediately showed us their bikes, which we could use for free! I cannot say how much we loved cycling to the beach, the city and the restaurants here in Rethymno. Bike lane is present!

Nothing but good words for this hotel and their staff. Would highly recommend and come back another time.
