I cannot say enough about this amazing hotel! The location was perfect … steps to the beautiful Aegean! The staff were so kind and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the hotel’s decor was very tasteful. Having cocktails on the terrace overlooking the crystal clear blue sea was relaxing after a long day touring the island. We would go back in a heartbeat!

This is perhaps our favourite hotel in the Cyclades. Firstly Folegandros is rather unique, very quiet, spectacular landscapes, superbe beaches and a very pleasant town in Chora. Then the location of Blue Sand is fantastic in the secluded Agali bay. The view from the hotel just overlooking the beach is incredible. The rooms are very comfortable and breakfast outside is excellent. Catarina the hotel manager is very friendly and helpful, and her husband Yannis took us on a fantastic boat tour around the island, stopping in many places for fabulous snorkelling & jumping from the rocks. But what we really loved about the place was the feeling of being in a really remote location, with superbe views and boats taking you to the restaurant in the next bay (Papalagi). And in the evenings when you are sitting on your terrace and starring at the stars you can just walk down the stairs and go nightswiming.

The hotel is situated on the best beach on the island of Folegandros. The hotel owners are friendly and the accommodations are excellent. The restaurant has delicious food made by a chef. The breakfast is delicious and unlimited. I definitely recommend staying here.

This was the first time me and my partner visited Folegandros. We stayed for a whole week in May, right at the start of the season. We are so glad to have experienced the island staying at Blue Sand, it made our whole experience unique and much special. The room was perfect, close to the breakfast terrace, but never noisy (perhaps being there not in high season helps). The view from Blue sand is breathtaking, as it is the fantastic breakfast, food, personnel, and the whole Island itself. Drinks and food are exquisite, and while yes the food is more expensive than other places in the island, the chefs are extraordinary in the way the create each recipe which were never bland but only a bomb of taste. Room service was fantastic, each day also when not needed. We thank from our heart the service lady, for her attention to details and hard work which we much appreciated. Also, Maria and Stavros, contributed immensely to our beautiful experience. We also thank you for the very much love you put in your work, we cannot wait to come back at Blue Sand and in Folegandros! We spent 4 nights at this gem of a hotel. Really no need to think about your decision to book a room - just book it. We did a premium double room - and worth the extra money. You have a beautiful balcony overlooking the water and are above the quiet patio - some of the double rooms are right off the patio. You can walk down to the beach - with umbrellas, chairs, and towels for you to use. The breakfasts are amazing - if you can even focus on the food - because the view is so remarkable. It seems that it was mostly adults here - we didn’t see any families. But, that doesn’t mean they don’t have them. You can also eat other meals here - though their are so many to choose from on the island. I am an above the knee amputee and am fairly athletic - if you have major mobility issues - it’s a tough place. I was fine 1 but was careful on the steep slopes. The whole island is a bit steep - so keep that in mind. They were always very helpful in terms of carrying luggage or offering help. The beds, showers and room are stunning - comfortable and quiet. We slept every night listening to the waves. Thank you Blue Sands Hotel and to the owners and staff. You run a wonderful hotel and are so kind and friendly. We’ll be back!

My partner and I visited for lunch and had a wonderful experience. We took a taxi from our hotel (the Anemomilos, 15 euros each way). The view from the restaurant is quite sublime, and we were able to relax there for over an hour enjoying our wine and the view. The service was very friendly and professional. We just had a simple Greek salad for lunch, but it was a very different style than we were accustomed to, but still delicious. Highly recommend, as an alternative to Chora restaurants for lunch.

We have come here for the last 3 years so Katerina and her team are obviously doing something right! We always have what we think is the best room which has great views and a beautiful terrace with outside seating areas! Breakfast is always consistently good and evening meals are too, the only thing for us is the menu hasn’t changed in this time, so as good as it is something different would be nice! Anna deserves a gold star for her efficient breakfast service! Maybe see you again😀

This is an expensive hotel which is trying to punch above its weight. The location is absolutely beautiful right next to the beach but the same could be said for the 3 significantly cheaper hotels opposite. My advice would be save your money and spend it on a blow out meal at Papalagis. You will remember that for a long time! Our bedroom was spacious with a cool beachy aesthetic and the beds were comfy. Unfortunately our bathroom had a severe mould problem presumably because there was no extractor fan. It looked tatty and the complimentary slippers had mould growing on them. Now I look back at past reviews, this has been a problem mentioned since 2017. It seems they are not bothered about fixing it. As a previous reviewer has said the single bottle of drinking water for 3 of us for a 2 night stay was stingy. The breakfast is menu-based which unfortunately means that some food came which was not eaten. On the first day the service was terrible and we sat and waited for half an hour before our order was taken, and then an age before the food came. on the second day service was good. We were kept awake on our first night by the noise of water running above our room. The front of house was not interested in sorting it out. Luckily it resolved by the second night anyway. Having also had a wonderful prior stay at the boutique hotel in the port (which cost significantly less) we felt let down by BlueSands overall.

We were picked up at the ferry terminal by Stavros, who took us to the fabulous Blue Sand hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Filippos who manages the front desk, and Katerina, the general manager. Our room was perfect, spotlessly clean, (thanks to Teouda and Rosa ) and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a terrace looking out over the bay. Following a quick unpacking we went to the hotel's terrace for a cheeky glass of wine and to admire the view down to the beach and crystal clear water, and it really is a view ! Our waitress Areti kept us supplied with whatever we wanted, and also served us breakfast, which was plentiful and so tasty, thanks to Christos the chef. Odysseas tended the bar, and kept a wonderful range of wines, both local and from Santorini, and made a mean iced coffee ! We took a half day private boat tour on the hotel's sleek black rib, ably captained by Giannis, who took us to some great little beaches and caves, where we snorkelled and swam to our hearts content. Each and every one of the staff were genuinely happy to see their guests, and took such pride in the hotel and the service they provided, that it came as no surprise to learn that it is family owned and run. We were completely and utterly happy at Blue Sand, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality with a relaxed atmosphere.

We started our two week vacation at Blue Sand and could not have been happier. Our transfer to and from the port was included and it was easy to find then upon arrival. At departure they monitored the ferry for us and worked around the delays and got us back to the port with perfect timing. The room and amenities were unmatched. We had a great room with a view and spent hours at night on our balcony. We also took advantage of the towels and umbrellas when we walked down to the beach during the day. The food and the service was top notch. We ate most of our meals at the hotel and loved everything we had. The people working were clearly very busy but we never waited long for service at the restaurant or when we ordered drinks to our room (and we ordered a lot of wine to our room)! The staff were wonderful and always remembered what we had ordered and were helpful answering all of our questions. We used the shuttle service to and from the Chora and it was easy and convenient. We opted to do the boat tour and it was the absolute highlight of our whole two weeks. It was an amazing way to see the island and the skipper was so personable and took us to so many amazing spots. It was such a fantastic way to see the island and the different beaches. The food and drinks included were such an added bonus. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Folegandros.
