Exceptionaly clean spacious one bedroom apartment , cleaned daily, bed linen & towels changed twice weekly . Yes owners and staff speak very little English for a UK Tui accommodation but everyone gets by . If you want food and drinks on offer then simply don't book these apartments ,Tui does say its fully SC only ,no bar etc . Close to centre and some nice eateries . 10 euros per week for a safe , 50 euros if require air Con, 20 euros to keep room on until 4pm on departure day . Spotless pool ,no hassle accommodation . There is a toilet and showers by the pool also if need this instead . Pool is clean , sunbeds suffice . Some road noise as expected in peak season August . Owners polite enough they just keep themselves to themselves as live in ground floor accommodation on site .

Visited early July for 3 nights via tui after re arranging bookings after covid. Travelled with two older teenagers celebrating end of exams. Stayed in apartment 14.
The pool area is excellent, although closes early despite peak season and 30 degrees heat. The hotel is in a brilliant location.
We would stay again but not during hotter months and never more than 2 to an apartment. The lounge sofa bed is small and only really suited to a child. We paid for air con which they struggled to get working for us and was lacklustre. The air con only works in main bedroom and obviously with all doors closed, meaning the lounge bedroom french doors also have to be closed but no air con benefits either unless bedroom door left open. Hence my comment that it is not really suitable for 3 older people.
The staff speak very limited English. In fact the owner is German. Although polite they can not really help with anything.
The transfer bus drops you at the top of the road for tui and bags are taken down by car. Yoi have to walk due to narrow roads.
However the return leg for this was confusing and the luggage was not collected on 6th July causing delays and confusion for passengers from here, the alfa and harmony. Caused a 30 minute delay for whole coach
Sign round pool states you can not consume drinks etc, however this is an old sign as they have no bar area there so you can now. You only really find things out by speaking to other guests. Luckily many of them have been to Parga several times. It is a beautiful area and we will be back with whole family to parga.
We would stay again but not during hottest months for reasons stated.

Brilliant apartments - cleaned every day, lots of changes of towels and bedding, great location. They are basic but extremely good for price. The owner has laminated cards with things like "air con" safety deposit box" etc so you just take them to him and pay, so him not speaking English isn't a problem. Pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds. Alfa hotel is 10 yards away with a lovely bar and great bar food etc if you want it, so don't miss Mara not having its own. Overall we love it and would come again.

Our 10th visit to Parga, we love the place. Unfortunately the Mara does not measure up. The owner/manager does not have a smile or a typical friendly Greek attitude.

The pool looked OK but there are 14 rooms and only 18 sunbeds, so if each room is double-occupied there are nowhere near enough, but that's OK because there is no bar or food provision so people are unlikely to stay around the pool. Thankfully, the Alfa Hotel across the road welcomes none-guests around their pool.

Aircon for the room costs 50 Euros for the week, and the safe is 10 Euros.

The room was average and dated, with many tired fixtures. The toilet seat was a disgrace - see photos.

No soap for hand washing.

Shower head held in place with a piece of garden hose.

One of the days we couldn't find the fresh towels when we came back from the beach. They were underneath my clothes which were on top of my case on the floor. What on earth were they doing messing with my clothes??

When the woman came round to collect the Greek Tourist Tax we had no change so gave her a note. She indicated she would bring the change but never did. I don't mind giving tips but it has to be given, not taken.

We won't be going back to the Mara.

We arrived after midnight but there was no one to greet us. We had to search and find the owner. He didn’t speak or smile the whole week. The room was very clean but the handle was broken on the bathroom door so we couldn’t shut the door. The toilet was filling up all the time and all the shelves in the fridge were broken off. None of the China matched. A nice swimming pool. I would only stay here again if I couldn’t book any where else

Wonderful clean apartments.
All the staff were very helpful. A nice quiet area to stay.
Great swimming pool with plenty of sun beds to use. Mara is only a 10 minute walk to the seafront.
Definitely stay here again

Just returned from Mara Studios read the reviews prior to going all spot on. We had room 9 consisted of basic utentsils i.e. fridge toaster kettle and cutlery.Room spacious as was the balcony cleaned daily and kept to a high standard. Hot water all the time shower very powerful - so caution.Bed, as per other comments, very hard (slept well though) No bar or snacks available.Room does get damp but bearable. Maestro bakery excellant, fresh bread and croissants (not open on Sundays) Bacchos restaurant proved the best for food and the entertainment (Oompah!!) Do visit Johnnies bar, very nice man and lovely mum & dad - cakes are great too and shows the football. Weather for late October was very kind to us 5/7 days sunbathing and swimming in the sea,Do bring a jacket for the evening if going late in year as it does get very cold. Jackie the Thomson rep was absolutely 1st class, went well above and beyond her standard duties, even offering to drive guests around on her day off in the pouring rain. To me the nice thing about holidays is making new friends, that said must say hello to Graham & Lynda,David & Pauline great fun at the Bacchos (Oompah! Oompah! Biggest hello goes to 2 very dear people (friends) we made named Tony & Susan, anybody meeting these people will be very fortunate and will have a great time in their company. We will definitely go back to the Mara in May but not mid October. I hope you found this review beneficial but do remember you are visitng Greece and not an area or hotel of UK standards so do make allowances.

Arrived at around 20:30 with suitcases delivered by transit van from coach which has to drop you at main road. It's a shortish walk downhill from main road to studios but long enough to be grateful for the transit. Absolutely no problem checking in with owners there to greet you give you your room number and direct you to the room where the key is waiting for you in the door.

We were a party of 5 with one double room (room 3) on ground floor directly overlooking pool and a studio room for 3 people (room 7) on the first floor in a separate block also with a view over the pool. Indeed all rooms have a view over the pool but the higher you are the more of a view you have over the bay.

Rooms were typical Greek, ample room, single beds (firm) small shower room but plenty big enough. Studio had a sofa bed in main room and two singles in separate bedroom. All had balconies.

Very clean premises in general.

Pool are very nice, having said that we were there in May and at times were only ones around the pool. I can see if everyone was around the pool that indeed it could do with a few more umbrellas.

Owners were very friendly and very helpful, no problem in sorting out an extra pillow.

No pool bar or food given these are apartments but the Alpha Hotel directly across the road is happy to welcome non residents and the food there was good.

Very pleasant holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

My family and I have just returned from a week in Parga. We stayed at the Mara studios which were well placed in a quiet part of the resort. The rooms were typical of what you find in Greece, fairly basic but clean. The pool is small but sufficient for our requirements, although you do have access to the pool at The Alpha hotel as well. I would recommend the Senses restaurant at the Alpha hotel - lovely food, good service and reasonably priced (guests at Mara entitled to 10% discount too). We also ate at Zorbas - food good but a bit busy and got the feeling they wanted you in and out as quickly as poss. For a great view I would recommend Kastro restaurant, bit more expensive than the others in Parga but you pay for the great view. It is right up on the hillside, so don't try if you have difficulty walking! Just along from Mara studios is a lovely bakery where we bought freshly baked bread and cakes daily. There is a small shop near Mara called Gregs which is convenient if you want a drink or ice cream when sitting around the pool. But for other bits I would suggest the larger supermarket along the road towards the main part of Parga as it is much cheaper. We had a great holiday, the only negative point is the proximity to beaches. It is a couple of minute walk from the harbour beach which is sandy but very busy and doesn't seem as clean as other beaches we have been to in Greece. We did go to Lichnos beach but took a taxi as it's quite a walk, which cost 7 euros each way. Lichnos is a pebble beach which we were not keen on, but we were told by others staying at our apartments that one end does have sand, we just didn't find it! Plenty of sunbeds at Liochnos at a reasonable 5 euros for the pair. We paid 8 euros at Parga harbour beach. We didn't have a chance to get to Valtos beach so can't comment on that but think it is probably the best beach in the area if you want sand, although unless you have the ability to walk a fair distance, uphill, you need to take a water taxi to reach it. If you want a relaxing holiday, with lots of good restaurants and are happy to stay around the pool rather than be within waking distance to a sandy beach, then Parga is for you.

After reading reviews of these apartments and some were critical it was with a little apprehension when we arrived at the apartments at night to whether we had made the right choice of accommodation. We should not have worried we found them to be clean and in good order the location was ideal 20 minute walk to the harbour. They were basic we only used kettle to boil water for coffee. The shower (typically Greek ) always provided hot water. The swimming pool was cleaned daily and kept in good order. The cleaning lady and her husband were very friendly and she cleaned the studios 6 times a week and the linen and towels changed twice a week.
We would recommend the Maestro bakery (down the road from the studios) for filled rolls homemade pizza and chicken pies. We would also recommend the 5 Senses restaurant (in the Alfa hotel opposite) Bacchos & Sodia restaurants the Captains bar and Utopia bar.
We would return to Parga and have no hesitation in booking the Mara Studios again
