In spite of the rave reviews, my wife and I were bitterly disappointed by our stay at the Greco Hotel. We had booked for five nights in September, when Hydra was teeming with tourists. The room was pleasant enough. However, a circuit breaker blew in the middle of the night – worse things do happen – so that our room...

The Greco is located away from the harbor and the "action," which we found a decided plus. Yet the hotel is only about a 7 minutes walk from the harbor. It has a beautfiul garden area in front, where breakfast can be eaten. The rooms are refurbished and somewhat modern. The room size was decent, with lots of closet space....

We stayed at the Greco Hotel for three nights. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The shady garden was a wonderful oasis from the activity on the waterfront, which is only a short walk away. A delicious, homemade breakfast every morning was a great start to the day. Maria and her staff are warm, welcoming, and helpful. I will...

We stayed at this hotel last year and returned this year for 4 nights. Everything was perfect with a very warm welcome back from Maria and her son Yannis. Very enjoyable breakfast outside in the lovely garden, Marias pride.

Maria and her family runs the cozy, quiet and modest hotel. So friendly, so caring. OK, so it's not on the sea front, but to walk two-three minutes is worth it. The best? The soft evening light filtered through the garden, sitting with Maria's home made lemonade.

We discovered this hotel from the Rick Steves guidebook and it turned out to be a gem! Maria is a fantastic host, and she made it feel like we were staying with family. she claims her English is no good, but we had no problems at all! Her son is fluent in English, just in case. Hotel Greco was a...

Giannis and Maria were the perfect hosts. Giannis lavished time on us recommending the best tavernas and restaurants. His local knowledge saved us money and enhanced our stay. Aside from teaching us some Greek we had a lot of laughs together. He explained which water taxis to take and finally booked us an excellent taxi driver to meet us at...

We arrived here after a few days in Athens. What a wonderful change of pace! The hotel is a short walk (or donkey ride) from the ferry. Yanni welcomed us and helped us with our luggage. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was the best so far, sitting out in the lovely garden. We highly recommend this place. (Only...

Large and clean rooms, a true whole Greek experience. Excellent breakfast, nice and cool terrace for hot afternoons. The family who owns it is very, very friendly and will do anything to please you. A terrific experience overall.
