Mare Monte Suites is a BOUTIQUE HOTEL in Spetses comprising 6 luxury units (2 suites and 4 apartments) designed according to the highest standards to provide a most comfortable and at the same time sophisticated accommodation. Among the island's finest HOTELS, it is housed in a historical residence erected in 1762 by an old aristocratic family of Spetses. The mansion, with the thick, stone-built walls characteristic of the 18th century wealthy houses, has been totally renovated by its current owners, the Markou family, in an exemplary way only befitting its historical identity, so that today it is transformed into a most elegant group of apartments equipped with all modern amenities.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

This was the second year I have stayed with Maria, Spiros and her team at Mar Monte and again it was just perfect. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, the location is fantastic - close to everything but sufficiently far so that you feel peaceful, a lovely breakfast and relaxing breakfast area and above all, the most beautiful hosts, who are warm, kind, considerate and who make you feel so at home. In addition to this Maria has excellent gastronomic knowledge and taste as well as a knowledge of the island and was able to recommend restaurants and places to go and see in line with my mood and wishes on any given day. I loved my stay at Mar Monte and look forward to returning soon.

We loved our stay at Mare Monte! The property itself is stunning with lots of thoughtful touches and the location is absolutely perfect to explore Spetses. Maria was super helpful with all questions we had, recommended great restaurants, beaches and organized trips and rentals for us. She even provided a washing rack, so we could hang clothes to dry and always stopped by for a chat. The breakfast is delicious and the bar has a great selection for a night cap. We have nothing but good to say and would definitely stay again! If you traveling in the high season with kids it is good to know, that it is a small and quiet hotel. We stayed during the low-season and most days we did not have other guest to worry about with the kids running around or playing.

Had a 5 night stay and all ideal. The hotel is well placed only a short walk from the main town (2-3 mins) yet nice and peaceful. Breakfasts are relaxed running through to 11am and a good selection offered.
Our room was spacious and well appointed and a nice place to chill too.
The owners are always on hand if you need anything. With only 6 rooms it all has a nice vibe. We got the pool area pretty much to ourselves a few times.
Within a very short walk there are plenty of bike/scooter hire places and a mini market close too. There is a small beach a couple of minutes away too where you can hire sunbeds. However the joy of Spetses is the small secluded bays so pick up a bike and make your way to one.
We booked a taxi to and from ferry port but if you’ve only got small luggage the hotel is only a short walk away.
A highly recommended small hotel with caring owners in an ideal location. What more do you need?

We stayed in a ground floor studio for 6 nights. The room in itself was very basic but clean. The grounds are very nice and the staff is simply WONDERFUL. The only problem with this hotel is the noise: traffic and the neighbor's dog who barks in the middle of the night. None of the other hotels had availability which is why we were forced to stay but it took ear plugs and sleeping pills in order to have a good night rest. I am surprised that there are no more reviews that mention this problem (I guess they are filtered in some way) or has everyone gone completely deaf???

All feedback is taken on board and we are always happy to hear from guests so we can continue to improve our facilities and services. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed our hospitality and hotel premises. We are always striving to take the best of care of all our guests. However, I am saddened to hear you struggled to sleep during your stay. Thank you for making me aware of this during your stay also as we did and do continue to have discussions with our neighbour for an amicable solution in relation to the dog barking. However, I would like to highlight we are unable to control external variables such as; traffic, as we are located conveniently close to the town centre, and neighbouring dogs barking. I do also feel that your review could be interpreted as offensive toward the other guests that have stayed and their experience at our hotel. As you are, they are also allowed to have an opinion which may differ from yours. They may not have been bothered by certain noises during their stay therefore they have stated they feel like they where staying in an "oasis".Hence why the majority of our guests return and has been described to us "as a home away from home" for many of them. I do understand and appreciate your concerns however I do feel 1/5 stars may be harsh especially when you yourself have pointed out the wonderful service you received. Finally, I would like to reassure you we do not "filter" comments in any way on social media platforms including TripAdvisor.

Our experience with Mare Monte was amazing and we could not have asked for a better place to reside in while staying in Spetses. Maria, Spiros and Ana were great hosts and they put in 100% of their effort to make us feel at home. And this is exactly the way we felt. Our room was traditionally decorated, spacious and very comfortable. Choices for breakfast were thoughtfully selected and freshly served in the patio beside the pool. Would definitely go again

Our stay at Mare Monte was simply delightful! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The team was incredibly helpful, and service-minded, always going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to beach, botuiques and restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Mare Monte for anyone visiting Spetses.

We had the most amazing five nights being beautifully looked after at Mare Monte.
Maria, Spiros, Mama and the team create a calm, luxurious and welcoming atmosphere in this stunning boutique hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and the recommendations which Maria makes are perfect.
We were lucky enough to have exclusive use for some of our stay - what a treat!
This is an easy island to get to and to fall in love with! Mare Monte and Spetses we'll see you again soon!

Our favorite place in Spetses. This hidden gem of a hotel is family-run by Maria and Spiros, a gorgeous young couple who have restored a taste of old Spetses with restrained elegance. The warm welcome and their personal recommendations make even a short stay special. A private and welcome retreat from the bustling port and restaurants that are just a short walk away.

We just arrived @ the Mare Monte and … what a surprise! The place is just beautiful. Warm welcome and a very quiet and classy place, ideally situated in the heart of the island, easy walk to any place. The staff booked a restaurant for our first evening and the advice was just perfect! Really happy to be here for a week now ☺️

We’ve just left Mare Monte after a wonderful stay! Maria, Spiros and family looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is very central so within easy walking to all restaurants and shopping etc, but it is an oasis of calm . The cakes ( baked by Maria’s mother) were delicious !
