Detailed Reviews
Arrived mid July for 10 nights and got to hotel 22.00pm. Instantly greeted by nikos and offered a beer or wine on the house which was a lovely surprise. We had a one bed apartment which was really well decorated. As we were self catering it had an abundance of crockery plates toaster and kettle. Safety deposit was 20€ for 10 days. Air con was 10€ a day but to be fair there were 2 units one in the bedroom and one in the sleeping area which had 2 small beds.
The beach is 5 minutes across the road and it was lovely. We had our own chairs and umbrella that we took but it was 10€ per set if you needed to hire. The next beach at Kolios was even prettier but make sure you cut through the Kolios tavern which gets you to the beach in 10 mins rather than the suggested sat nab which was 20 mins!!
There are plenty of restaurants nearby and we found the green park the best for food and attentive service.
The bus stops 200 yards down the road at number 16 stop and it’s 2€ euros each way into skiathos town every 15 mins. The bus was extremely busy and we had to stand all the way but it took about 15 mins.
Went to see the aeroplanes land in the town but stood 50 yards away for safety but we had an amazing view.
Back at the hotel we didn’t eat but the drinks were fairly priced at 4€ for a large Mythos and about 3.5€ for a glass of wine.
The pool is a little small but was ample for us as we only used it for an hour after the beach and we always found sun beds.
On our last day we used the shower based downstairs and were allowed to use the hotel towels and shampoo.
Nikos and Elana that run the Maraki are truly lovely people and there children are a credit to them and we’re always polite. I can see why people return here often.
Thanks for a fab time Steve jo and josh

We arrived late after a small delay, nickos welcomed us warmly with a drink of our choice. He showed us up to the room, we had room 13, a maisonette, very spacious with a wonderful view over the sea. A small well equipped kitchenette with a 2 ring cooker. Provided was a kettle and toaster. Plenty of plates dishes cups glasses etc. washing up liquid, sponge and t-towel was provided.
Table and 4 chairs inside and a settee. Outside on the balcony was a table and 3 chairs, we took the stools outside as they were comfy.
Downstairs was the wardrobe with lots of hangers, a set of 4 drawers and the bathroom. The shower was hand held powerful a shower curtain provided never flooded the bathroom.
The safe was located downstairs next to the wardrobe
Up stairs was a extra large double bed, very comfortable, 2 bedside tables and a large extra long shelve with mirror.
Both nickos and Ileana where very friendly and helpful. We’re not drinkers so we didn’t use the bar area or the pool although both looked lovely.
The beach is over the road 5 min walk very Sandy.
There are 2 supermarkets near by. Plenty of restaurants within 5-10min walk
We would highly recommend villa maraki to anyone wanting to visit skiathos especially the maisonettes

Nikos and Elena our fantastic hosts. The rooms are cleaned and made up every day. The pool and bar area are fantastic. Plenty of great restaurants nearby the large beach is just over the road or Kolios down by bus stop 15 which is the better beach but beware there are no foot paths either side of the road, and it can also be quite dangerous crossing as people on quad bikes and motorbikes come flying round the corners also when a large lorry comes past, you tend to cringe the only reason I didn’t give five stars was the shower in our room was a nightmare it needs updating. You can’t use the shower hands-free as the mounting bracket is next to the tap. so you have to hold it with one hand and try and wash yourself with the the other. Also it’s just a curtain which soaks the whole bathroom and it’s tiny also, if you have any issues, there are quite a few steps up to some of the rooms.

Booked with Jet2 very good value for money deserves more than the 2 stars they have awarded it. The welcome from Elonda & Niko was warm and friendly the rooms are cleaned everyday and have great views out over the sea with a spacious balcony. Closest beach 5 mins walk and others within 30min walk. The village has ample restaurants if you don't want to leave and 3 supermarkets. Jimmy's Trevena next door is especially good and the prices are all much the same. The local bus stops just along the road 2 euros to travel either way, either to Skiathos Town which has a maze of beautiful traditional back street and a bustling and vibrant port area a must to visit if only once and the other way takes you the busiest beach on the island starts with a K sorry cant remember the name from which you can get a water taxi back to Skiathos Town. We will be back !!!!

This accommodation was excellent the owners were really friendly, the Villa was amazing great facilities the pool was the cleanest I have ever seen, the rooms were very well equipped for a self catering holiday, the rooms were cleaned daily and the towels and bedding changed every other day. It was perfectly situated for the beach and the restaurants and the bus routes to the town, the buses ran every 15-20 minutes into the town. Couldn’t rate this accommodation highly enough we would definitely rebook as we had such a great holiday.

We stayed in a typical Greek one bedroomed apartment. A lovely size for the 2 of us, with a table and chairs, a sofa bed, kitchen area with toaster, kettle, 'fridge and a stove with 2 cooking rings. Off our bedroom was a balcony with views across the sea. A small but adequate bathroom. Bedding and towels were changed every 3 days but you can ask to have them changed before then if you require. Pool area was kept lovely and clean; it was a shame that there are only 12 sun beds and the pool isn't very big. On the plus side, the beach is just across the road and you can hire 2 sun beds with a table and parasol for 15 Euros per day. A bus stop is just down the road from the Villa, Number 16, where you can catch a bus for 2 Euros to Skiathos. The Pool Bar this year has been taken over by Eleftaria and Mel(?). They were so helpful and friendly and always spoke whenever they saw you. Food was great and the Pool Bar appeared to be well stocked. The whole area is served by plenty of restaurants at reasonable prices. Two in particular we enjoyed were "The View" and "Green Park" restaurants. There are also 3 supermarkets in the near vicinity. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days there. Thank you.

It started with a warm, smiling welcome from Nikos and Aleona. The studio room was great and spacious. The room was equipped with everything that you would expect from a greek studio. The decor was fresh, and there were some nice homely touches, which was a good sign that they wanted you to have a great stay. The rooms were immaculately cleaned with frequent linen changes. There was always plenty of hot water.
The pool and surrounding ar areas were always clean, and a nice mixture of loungers, chairs, and tables to suit eating, sitting for a drink, etc. The range of food was great for a pool bar. We only salad lunch or breakfast, but always tatsy and well presented. The bar was popular (not noisy), and there were lots of previous guests that could not get rooms came to use the bar because of the warm welcome. Nikos and Aleona clearly want everyone to have a great time in their own understated way. Hospitality at its best.
A great relaxing location, 5 min walk to the beach with plenty of good tavernas to choose from nearby. Great and very frequent bus service for town and other beaches (€2 single)
We will definitely be returning to Villa Maraki.

Four of us were staying at another property just around the corner from Villa Maraki which we did not find welcoming at all so had stumbled across this place when looking for alternative places to spend our money and went in one morning for breakfast. The couple who own this place were so welcoming and so friendly and the food menu was good value. We then went back that evening for some drinks and cocktails. We received the same friendly welcome and the Mojitos were too die for :-).
We went a number of times both during the day and at night throughout our stay and would seriously consider staying there if we go to Skiathos again.
So if you are in this resort please go and give them a try!! They deserve to be successful as they were what hosts should be.. friendly and very welcoming!!!

Great accommodation. Very near to fantastic beach, lovely tavernas and supermarkets. Bus service to Skiathos town or Koukounaries every 15 minutes on the main road, €2 in high season or €1.60 in quieter months. 2 sun loungers and an umbrella €10 per day on beach. Elona and Nicos are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lovely atmosphere at these apartments. Big thanks to Ioanna who cleans the apartments too! Xx

Is it a Greek thing? The hospitality on this island was just top tier and the owners definitely weren’t an exception. The owners of Maraki, Nikos and Elena, were amazing to me and my friends- nothing was too much trouble. We were met with delays and lost a day of our short holiday but their kindness made up for it. Even on the last day, when we feared our flight would be cancelled (it was only delayed by 2 hrs 59) they offered us a room .
They sorted car hire for us, taxis and even dinner recommendations- I just wish we were there for longer!!
The only vague down side is the close proximity to the road but if you’re like me and has a friend that likes to bash the kettle and thrash around at 8am (6am ENGLISH TIME!!!!!!) then that shouldn’t bother you.
The pool is cute, the beer cold and the owners charming ! My favourite part was the Elena sharing her melon and pumpkin seeds with us at the beach. What a lovely family!
Thanks for the memories xxx see u again I hope!!!

Hi, no I don't recall seeing an iron in the room, but the owners are so nice and helpful I'm positive if you ask they will let you use one, even their own. Say hi from us and have a great holiday!
